Sent with Love, Festive Friday #0013

State Fair or TURQUOISE?  I'm in!  Turquoise is not my favorite color, probably my 3rd fav. Unless it's the real Turquoise stone as in jewelry.   And I am fortunate enough to live just 8mi from the one and only Kingman turquoise mine store.  All the rest have run out and have shut down.   That is another little hobby of mine, jewelry. Mostly I make earrings because that is the only jewelry besides my wedding ring that I wear pretty much every day.    If you ever get to Kingman AZ, let me know, I'll tell you right where it is.

Anyway, my fav turquoise was Tempting turquoise, but it's retired, so we are going with Bermuda Bay, we also have Coastal Cabana back and a lighter shade, Pool Party still.  I'm sorry to tell you that the ribbon I used as well as the silver and white DSP are both retired.  You can replace the ribbon with the 1/4" mini striped ribbon in bermuda bay, it's really pretty. #146939.  It also comes in Gorgeous Grape and Poppy, can't wait to get my hands on those.

So, we are playing as you can see, with Festive Friday.  This challenge has a bit of a twist. You sign in and when you post and when you win, you get points that accumulate for prizes.  How cool is that?
Here is the challege:

I hope you'll play along. Who knows, you might find something neat in the prizes.

The borders I used are from a die set. They do NOT have a matching stamp set, so you'll have to look in the catalog in the die section in the back to find them. I.LOVE.THEM.  3 Gorgeous dies.  I used the Multipurposes adhisive sheets on the backs, then cut them out.   Put a bit of glue on the back of the DSP top and bottom and glued them down, then pulled off the liner sheet and just stuck the whole thing down.

I hope I've given you some inspiration.   And THANK YOU Jen for the instructions for getting my notificatins back.

Special Day, Freshly Made Sketches #347

I have in general, never been one that was in love with most patterned paper.  But I have to say, the current DSP is outstanding.  Gorgeous, so usable and with in inclusion of the current gorgeous die cuts, it makes for a fabulous card.  So, as much as I usually don't cover my card with DSP, I am having some fun doing that right now.

This paper is from the Garden Impressions 6x6 DSP stack.  The other side is a gorgeous floral.
I followed a sketch challenge today from Freshly Made Sketches, #fms347.  Check it out.

Lots of great inspiration over there.

Colors today are Whisper White, Blueberry Bushel, and Lovely Lipstick, my pearls were colored using the light Lovely Lipstick Blendie pen.

If you have any questions, be aware that Blogger is no longer even sending me an email when there is a comment, but I check as often as I can, so you can ask, but you'll have to come back to get the answer as I also don't have access to your email from this platform.

Stampin Up, Happy Birthday card. GDP148

Is not this DSP absolutely gorgeous???!  There are more colors.  It's called Petal Promenade.  This can be one of your choices for free on the buy 3 get 1 free sale.  But hurry, it's over at the end of this month, July 2018.
I love how the Stitched Label dies work so well with it. Both are so elegant.  Birthdays, weddings, anniversarys.  And so easy.

I haven't played with GDP for quite a while, this week we are cas'ing the designer.   Taking inspiration from the card Connie Collins made.  My inspiration was the DSP and the layers.

I had been looking for an excuse to use the Stitched Label Dies, and this was just perfect.  My Colors are:  Whisper White, Blushing Bride and Smoky Slate.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you got a bit of inspiration from my card as well. Just click on any image to be taken to my store.

Abstract Impressions die fun, #jai418

Loving this set.  More and more we are getting lots of great dies that are not just to go around a stamp. In this set, Abstract Impressions, this flower die and a big Butterfly die are what you get, along with a single small flower die.    I cut this from white, then used a round brush to brush on color where I wanted it, it's not perfect, but it's not suppose to be. The sentiment is from the stamp set and the pearls are colored with my light Seafoam Green Blendy pen.

Colors for this challenge are here:
You can find it here:

Lately I'm thinking that Stamping is no longer the correct word for what we are doing. Sometimes a stamp doesn't even touch the page.  Here I only used the sentiment, the rest are dies and pearls and often gorgeous paper.   What do you think? Do we need a new name?

Thanks so much for stopping by.  To check out anything here in my store, just click on any of the images below.

Thank you so very much, Freshly Made Sketches challenge

I knew what colors I wanted to use, I've been dying to do more with the new Purples, Gorgeous Grape and Highland Heather.   So, I used my 6x6 Brights DSP set for the Gorgeous Grape side panel and Bermuda Bay for the little strip of color.

Here is the challenge:
I moved the shapes around, putting the two shapes at the bottom, because for this stamp set, it made more sense that way.    Still, when I got up this morning, I thought of a way it could have been better, but that's ok, I'll use that another time.

So, my colors today are: Bermuda Bay, Gorgeous Grape, Whisper white, and So Saffron.

I used my Aqua brush, picking up a bit of color from my pad and putting it into the lid with added drop of water from the brush to get the lighter shades, then came back in while it was still wet to add more intense color.
I used the Blends on the butterfly.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Sending Prayers card, Paper Players #401

Everyone has techniques and supplies they like best, I happen to go bananas over embossing folders.  This one is a new one  called Seasonal Wreath. Seasonal makes it sound like Christmas, doesn't it? But it just isn't. There is nothing that says Christmas about this wreath, however you could make it say Christmas.   Today I'm not doing that, I wanted to just make a pretty wreath.

Here is the challenge:

Those are some bright colors, but it works.    After I embossed the folder, I used a round brush, brushed very lightly across my ink pad and then gently onto my  wreath, and I kept doing that until I got the look I wanted.     I found some tiny flowers in my Jar of Love set, then used pearls and colored them with Light Lovely Lipstick.
I love that we have the Blends to play with now, you can color the pearls and/or the rhinestones any color you want using them.  That doesn't work with the dye ink markers.

I punched the corners using the new Detailed Treo punch.    I didn't have any ribbon to match, so I found a bow all made up on my desk in Lemon Lime Twist and by golly,  it worked because I had made the wreath so light in color.

Added my Highland Heather layer, then attached to a Whisper White card base.   The sentiment came from the brand new Itty Bitty Greetings set.

To play along or just check out what everyone else did, go here.

Thanks so much for stopping by,  I hope I gave you some inspiration.

Stampin Up, Festive Friday Friendship card,

Today I just had to use Dandelion Wishes for the Festive Friday friend challenge.  I've had my eye on this set since I first saw the new catalog, and I finally ordered it.  First here is the challenge.

If you have not checked out the Frestive Friday challenge, I encourage you to do so.  You sign up and then when you post you are awarded points that you can spend.  So, head on over and check them out.

I actually ended up using a few stamps and dies on this card to get what I wanted.  I just got the new sentiment set, it's called Itty Bitty Greetings, and is 2 cases full of most any greeting you need in very small size.   I end up using a lot of those and am really happy to see some that were missing in previous sets.
It's really hard to see, but the top and bottom edge of the DSP has a line of stitching, the pattern kind of hides it but it shows in person pretty well.   There are 2 5" long stitching dies in the Stitched Label die set that goes with the Stitched all Around stamps. I've used another of the dies on the bottom with the sentiment.

I embossed my dandelions in copper and used the Brusho Yellow in the set.
A little tip. Use the Thick Whisper White if you are going to be getting the card wet in any way. And you have to be careful, if you are wanting to work the wet to do much with it, you really need watercolor paper or the Shimmery White paper, that one has a little coating on it that helps.

So, I sprinked a bit of the color from my Brusho container then just a quick spritz and allowed to dry.

Thanks for stopping by today.
