Spooky class card

I usually only do 3 cards for class, we tend to do a lot of visiting and chatting and playing so class gets a bit long, but this month there were so many fabulous sets in the new 2016 Holiday catalog, I just had to do 4.  This is from one bundle, Spooky fun bundle on page 52.  I stamped the bats, but there are 2 dies for them as well.

I stamped the moon on daffodil delight and then sponged on a bit of Crushed Curry and Tangerine Tango to make it look more like a moon.   The tree, witch and gravestones are all dies as well in the Halloween scenes edgelits dies.    I cut my tree out of Sahara Sand and sponged on brown and Rich Razzleberry, but one of my ladies used black and it turned out great.   So many options.

I have never really been a halloween person, I normally don't send cards for it, but decided a did need a few things this year finally, and I pick the best year ever to do that!   The really neat thing is that some Christmas/fall and halloween sets match up with punches or framelits in the annual catalog.

I hope you enjoyed, thanks for stopping by and Happy Stamping.

Stampin Up Pals Paper Arts challenge #315, Sneak Peek Holiday 2016

Isn't this embossing folder awesome?  I just love it, can't wait to see what more people do with it.  We have a color challeng this week.  Old Olive, Dapper Denim and So Saffron.

The Denim had me going for a bit but I think I have it covered now. This weeks colors come to you from Michelle Gleeson.

Besides the embossing folder, I just used one stamp set. It was first on my list when I saw the new catalog, although there are no dies for this one.  My favorite stamp in the set isn't on this card, I'm saving it for later, it's a Christmas train, just too beautiful!

I did a bit of watercoloring so I used Watercolor paper, but you can use your blender pen or markers or?  I also put some sparkle on, but I never seem to be able to capture that on camera.

Feel free to come on over and play with us.

They say it's your Birthday, GDP#050

Today I'm playing with the GDP challenge. I hope you'll consider playing along. Be sure to remember that when doing sketch challenges, the sketch is usually more of a suggestion. This is always true with the GDP site, they love when you excercise creativity.  Having said that, I pretty much followed the sketch this week, just flowed that way, nothing fantastic here, just a pretty, usable Birthday card.

I do love this set, I've wanted die cuts for flourishes for a long time and boy did SU come through this year!

Colors today are: Dapper Denim, Mint Macaron and Whisper White.

Stampin Up, Halloween sneak peek

Shhhhhhh, don't tell my class that meets this coming week about this card. I do not usually post class cards before class. But hey, Halloween season is pretty short and I've got more to make.

This was make using the framelits from the Jar Of Love set in the annual catalog. There is also a Christmas set for this framelit set.   I combined the jar set Spooky Fun and the Ghoulish Grunge stamps to make this. I think it's really a fun card. This is one that is going out to a grandson.

I used Silver foil on the jar lid, it doesn't show well in the photo as the light didn't hit it right, you can also stamp the lid and die cut, smoky slate would work well.

The brick is stamped 3 times across and I love how it looks old and crumbling, with the jar in the middle it looks like one long fence.
Colors:
Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Peekaboo Peach, So Saffron.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Happy Stamping. This is our season.

Pals paper arts sketch challenge 314

Today we are doing sketch challenge by Amy Lazzell.

So, it seems pretty simple, but I really had to think about it.  I wanted something different.  Also, the die set I choose is a bit harder to find ways to use that everyone else hasn't done.   When I'm just doing a card to send to a friend I don't worry about that, but for a challenge I try to do something a bit different.

The Sunshine Sayings bundle is awesome! Such gorgeous dies with a few stamps and lots and lots of mix and match sayings. That's a great combo.

For my colors I choose:  Melon Mambo, Whisper White and Basic Black.

I first cute a narrow piece of  paper from the Pop Of Pink DSP, and put black on either side popped up a bit. Cut my 2 pieces of the sunshine flower and put them down. Added the little tiny banner with You Are My, then cut out the Big Sunshine out of Silver Glimmer paper. Added in some pearls and done.   I used Whisper white for my card base.

The tiny banner is from Bunch of Banners set.

Mojo Monday sketch challenge #461, Sneak Peek, Christmas pines bundle.

Woo Hoo, another new set from the 2016 Holiday catalog.  Just so you know, all the goodies inside will be available for order by customers on Sept 1.  This is such a great set, it's billed as a Christmas set, but easily will also make those Fall cards and projects for you. Lots of great stamps and lots of wonderful dies. And the matching DSP is called Presents and Pine Cones.

Normally I don't use a lot of DSP, when I do use it, it's generally in small amounts, but this package has the neatest patterns I've ever seen.  I think I did a pretty good job on the sketch.

It's a great sketch, fairly simple and easy to use.

I used my new Layering circle die set, and stamped some of the fill in branches then put the die cute ones over top and slipped in a red one for berries and some color.
I cut a couple of pinecones out, using the new Copper foil, and layered the while circle over the Soft Suede scalloped circle.

I hope you enjoy this sneak peek at the Christmas Pines Bundle.

Pals Paper Arts Color challenge #313

It's time for a new PPA challenge. Our featured designer this week is Mary Fish, here are her colors.

Both Flirty Flamingo and Peekabook Peach are in this years brand new Incolor collection.   And what gorgeous colors they are, all 5 of them.    Normally I would not have thought these 2 colors would work together, but as you see, they are really pretty!  And so much fun to work with.

This is a very easy card. I simply took a couple of the smaller stamps from the Banners for You stamp set, stamped in White ink, ( I like white often when using white embossing powder as I can see it on my card so much better then Versamark.)
Use white embossing powder then sponge, watercolor ect over the top and see it come alive. I then used that little 3 dot stamp to add in some Tip Top Taupe to fill in some areas and add more interest.

The white satin ribbon sadly is retired.  But I have 2 spools of it to use up and I love it! We still have silver and gold in this ribbon and it's stunning, both colors. They are softer, non metallic colors, but here I needed white. I hope you can forgive me. :)

Mojo monday 460, Happiest Birthday card

When I first saw the Mojo Monday sketch for this week, gold, black and white just popped into my head.  I took that as a sign that I was to do this one.   I never know exactly what I'll do but if I have some form of the card in my head to start with, I build on that.  Usually I add a pop of color to my Black and White cards, and I guess you could say I did this time, with the gold, but usually it will be red or pink or something.
But gold just settled into my brain.

Know that cute little set with the Llama?  Well, this sentiment is from that set, Birthday Fiesta, no Llama this time though.  This could easily be a masculine card, so I stayed away from anything that might make it more feminine.

The DSP is Pop of Pink, I love this set of papers. Black, white and Melon Mambo, it's perfect and the starts from the Metallic shapes worked well also.

So, let me know what you think! I love hearing your thoughts on my work. Too plain? Not plain enough?  I thought about using the arched stamps over top and bottom of the sentiment, but again, I wanted to keep it masculine. If you want to purchase anything or just check out the stamps and stuff, click on any image below to go to my store.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Pals Paper Arts Challenge #312, A sketch challenge

Hello, and welcome to the PPA 312 sketch challenge.  This week's sketch was by Linda Callahan.

And wow, Linda did a fabulous job of it.   Click here to check out Linda's and the rest of this weeks team cards.

I know you have seen me ( and plenty of others) use this set before, but I can't stop!  I am so missing the beach, it's been a really long time since we have been able to go.  And it's such a fun set to play with!

So, I live here in the AZ desert and to make up for not seeing the beach much, I have my front porch set up as Ocean Front Property.  Anyone a country music fan? If so then you know that one.  I keep telling people that when CA drops off into the ocean, I shall have my Ocean front property. Think?

Meanwhile, this will have to do.
Colors this week are: Dapper Denim, Very Vanilla, Mint Macoron, and Calypso Coral.
