Just a note, and Freshly Made Sketches challenge #290

As soon as I saw this sketch this Doily stamp popped into my mind. It is retired I'm sorry to say, but still a favorite of mine, I hope you have it.  Both my ribbons on this are also retired.   I can't seem to keep up with new ribbon, but this new catalog has so many gorgeous ribbons, I shall be buying again.

I simply good embossed just part of my stamp with Versamark ink.  I laid a piece of printer paper  above where I wanted to stamp to protect the rest of my card, inked up the bottom of my stamp and stamped and embossed in Gold.

Both of these ribbons, the black is a stitched satin ribbon and the gold was in the Holiday catalog along with a spool of silver. And although they were both listed as the same size there was just enough of a difference to layer and show off just the edges of black.

I layered a black piece, 4 1/8" by 5 3/8", then made my top layer 4"x 5 1/4", that left just a tiny bit showing of the color underneath.
I cut one each of the little flowers in Bloomin Hearts die set, put a pearl in the large one and just put the little one by my sentiment.  I think in this photo you can actually see the glitter of the Glimmer paper.

It is a pretty simple, but I think elegant card you could use for many occasion.

Don't forget, ordering from the new 2017-2018 catalog starts Thur June 1st!

FMS sketch challege #289, With Sympathy

I'm the person who sends out cards to those needing them for a group I'm in.  Since many of our members are up there in age, most of those are sympathy cards, so I try to have a couple on hand.

It's not my favorite kind of card to make, but I do take some pride in sending my hand made cards each and every time.

I think this stamp set is a forever one.  I sure do not intend to get rid of it ever.  It's Sheltering Tree, it's been in the catalog for quite a while now and yes, it's in the new one as well. The little blobs can be leaves or flowers or just about whatever you would like them to be. I've seen them used in very unexpected ways, and I bet you have too.  This was just another way to give the card some charactor.  I simple stamped the tree twice,  cut out one of them using the stitched framelit and layered it in top of first a slightly larger piece of Berry Burst then onto the card front over the tree on there.

The sky is our watercolor pencils, I used the side of the tip and then went over gently with my Blender pen, since I didn't use watercolor paper I had to be careful and not make it too wet.

So here is todays challenge: You can find it here.

Todays colors are Berry Burst (new incolor), Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz and a Bermuda Bay pencil. Thanks for stopping by!

Just Add Ink Sketch Challenge #360, Here for you

Today's sketch Challenge from Just Add Ink sent me looking for something old.  This set, Weather Together is in the current catalog ending May 31st, and also coming over to the new annual catalog starting June 1, 2017.

I sure haven't used it much, but there are just so many to play with it got shoved to the side. It's a fun little set with it's own thinlits and some sweet little sentiments.  I've bent the sentiment to a curve for this, one of the perks using Photopolymer stamps.

The little daisies are in the new Daisy Delight stamp set, just the right size for my umbrella.  I cut a 2nd umbrella piece from white to give my DSP more body.

Colors today, Whisper White, Peekaboo Peach and Pool Party.
Here is the sketch and click here for the link to check out the rest of the projects.

Happy Birthday class card

This card was used for my class last week.  It is very simple, and was a lot of fun to make.  My class had a really good time with it.  The set is called Happy Birthday Gorgeous and the big Happy Birthday on the card is the Die that comes with the bundle, available June 1, 2017.
The balloons in this set are punched out with the balloon punch that is current.

I used the little swirlys in the set as the string for the balloons and stamped them around just for effect.
Colors are Tranquil Tide, Peekaboo Peach, and Flirty Flamingo.   Tranquil Tide is a brand new incolor that is in the new annual catalog June 1.
After die cutting the Happy Birthday from white, I sponged on the 3 colors, I think it turned out very festive.   Colors can be changed to make this a masculine card without a problem.

I hope you enjoyed and got some inspiration. I know you are going to enjoy the new catalog!

Celebrate_Paper Players color challenge#344

It's Mothers day today. I live too far to have been with my girls today, but they have all checked in this weekend, sent gifts and called and texted.  So, I'm good. Instead I decided to play with the Paper Players today. What a fun color challenge. Bright, bold colors, the red threw me, but I think I pulled it off.

I used Swirly Bird stamps and Swirly Scribbles dies, and could have just stuck with that set, but I am in love with the cute little 2 stamp roses in the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set from the new Annual catalog so I used them.  So simple, no coloring required.  I simply stamped off after inking up the background until it was light enough then stamped on my paper.  Then inked up the top stamp and stamped that on top.

I used watercolor paper, watercolored the background, but sponged the die cuts, and used my trimmer with the rotary adaptor and wavy blade for the edges.  I'm sorry to say that adaptor is retired, but sometimes that tiny edge is just the thing.

So, here is the color challenge, click on the text to go see what everyone has done.

I hope your Mother's day was everything you could ask for.

New product peek, Just Add Ink challenge #359

Todays card is a peek at one of the most popular sets in the new 2017/2018 annual catalog as far as I can tell.  It's a beautiful set of stamps and punch and the DSP that goes with, well, it's just stunning. I have never order a second set of the same DSP, but I am going to with this one.
It's called the Daisy Delight bundle, and the DSP is Delightful Daisy.

In mine I have stamped and embossed white on white, then used my Aqua pen and stamp pad to color in the leaves. I liked the more varied, natural look to my flower.  Below you see the colored CS stamped and embossed and can see the difference.
The faceted gem is the perfect center, it comes in this gold color and clear.

Colors are: Wisteria Wonder and Whisper white.  Super simple card but a stunner.   I used the For you sentiment as this way I can put anything pretty much inside.

This weeks Just Add Ink is a Inspiration challenge. Here is the challenge inspiration and link to see the rest of the projects.

Playing Tic Tac Toe with the Paper Players 342

Sounds like fun, right?  I love options, and this one gives that. Check it out and see for yourself.

I guess I added an extra, but I think that's ok.
The background is an old retired one that I love and didn't get to use nearly enough when it was current.  It was called Something Lacy.   Pink Piroutte on Pink Piroutte.  Other colors are:
Whisper White, Rose Red and Emerald Envy.

The doilies that I used are leaving the end of May.  I like them the best of any we have had, I'm going to miss using them, but may sneak one in from time to time.
So, here is the rest of the story, or card, as the case may be.
