Painted Harvest and Tic Tac Toe challenge 045

I have such a hard time just choosing the way to play TTTC that often I just don't. Sad, I know, it's a great challenge. But today I looked at the new board put up and that top row just spoke to me, and a stamp set jumped into my head,  and honestly, that is the biggest decision.

This is Painted Harvest.  Sunflowers, right? Or is it? We have used it for Christmas and everything in between.  For this one I started with a brand new incolor, Blueberry Bushel.  I didn't know SU was missing a blue, but it was, and this is it.

It's also the perfect set for using a stamp positioner, like the new Stamperatus.  Stampin Up's new positioner is in the new catalog and some of you have it already.

Here is the challege board, be sure to check out the team's posts and why not come and play.

See the top row? That was my choice. Floral, Metallic, Punch

My colors for this are: Blueberry bushel, Crushed Curry, Pear Pizzazz and Whisper White.
I stamped 2 of the flowers on my white layer using a stamp positioner, then I made a mask, by stamping the flower and cutting around it and put it over the flower I was added a leaf to.  There are a couple of stamped leaves buried under the sentiment, but that is ok, it allowed me to position it for my last flower.

After stamping my last flower and cutting it out, then punching out the leaves, I put my sentiment piece down looking to see what the best placement would be. Added my leaves that had been punched and then put down my last flower using a dimentional.

This was truly a challenge fun to make!   I hope you enjoy and take away from it ideas for your own stamping.

Getting away from it all. StampinUp sneak peek, GDP 135 challenge

Maybe it's because we haven't been back to CA to see the ocean in a very long time, or maybe this cute little set just called to me for some other reason. But I love it.  Great stamps and dies and a DSP set to go with as well.

Here is the GDP challenge, I'm playing along with, come, see what the whole team has done with this.

I decided to use the brand new incolors for this.  If you love a bright, real yellow, this is your color. Pineapple Punch.  Along side this, all our other yellows have some gold or orange in them.
I also used, Tranquil Tide, Mint Macaron (it's back) Grampefruit Grove, Blueberry Bushel and Whisper White.
I used the new Pineapple Punch for my card base then added the WW, with a cut of the new DSP at 5 1/2"x 2 1/2".  Glued the DSP to the white leaving the space for sky and sun.    Then I cut my oval in white, put it on my stamp positioner, used the long water stamp in the set in Mint Macaron and then moved the stamp up just a tiny bit and stamped again in Tranquil Tide so they went between the lines.
I used my Aqua painter to spread the water lines just a little.

Stamped my boats in black and colored those in using my blender pen touched to the ink pad.  There is a chemical in that pen that usually won't cause it to run using dye ink.
I put the little squiggles under each boat to show the reflection.

Then I used a watercolor pencil to scribble some sky in and spread it a bit with the aqua painter. Punched out my sun, going around it with the Pineapple ink.
Lucky me I had some retired Mint Macaron ribbon to use!    I put that around my white/DSP, glued my white oval to a Tranquil Tide stitched oval and popped it all up with Dimentionals.

The sentiment is from Glamper Greetings, which will retire at the end of May.

I hope you enjoyed.  I'd love to hear what you think.  If you want answers, I'd love to give them, but Blogger doesn't let me have email's, so you'll have to ask and come back for an answer.

2018-2019 Annual catalog Sneak Peek, FMS332

I have to warn you all that I did use a couple of retired items here, but they were needed. One was the Marina Mist ribbon, long retired, and the other is the strip of DSP, it came from the Holiday catalog. You could recreate the look by sponging your colors on fairly easily.

So, the adorable image here is brand new, and I can't even show you a number to order it.  Watch for it in your new 2018-2019 annual catalog.   I went to SU Onstage this past sat. And this was in our bag when we registered.  SU really knows how to treat us at these functions. I ended up with 2 more stamp sets besides this one and a little bit of other product.  Then I was able to place an order right away.
First let me tell you about the card.  I used Marina Mist, Whisper white, Basic gray and Smoky Slate.
If you love Marina Mist as much as I do, run, fast, and buy more paper, whatever, it's leaving us. I'm pretty sad.   But we are getting so much more in return.  The doily here is also new, it's pearlized and beautiful.

To get my ends of the framelit blue, I cut a 2nd one in blue, then cut both ends off and glued to my top and bottom.
Check out the FMS site to see the rest of the projects and how about joining in as well?

The big news is that we have a color refresh coming.  I'm posting all the colors in group so you can see what they are, what is retiring and what is coming new. They have also redone the color families. Giving us 3 more total colors.
