GDP064, A Christmas case

How fun was this?!  The GDP has a CASe challenge this week.  By that they mean, take away from the post what you like/want and make it your own.  It can be anything, a color, a stamp just an idea. For me, I am trying to get my Christmas cards done so I can sent them out, so mine is a Christmas card.

I took away the sketch idea. I loved the small piece of DSP at the side edge and the basic layout of the card.    I used Watercolor paper on here, intending to actually watercolor on it, but when I got ready to do so I decided I loved it just as it was.   The stamping is clearer in person, the watercolor paper is a bit responsable for the lightness in photographing it.

The small slice of DSP is from Presents and Pinecones, I've used it a lot and had scratched my head on how to use this piece.  It fit here perfect!

I hope I inspired you some today, check out the rest of the cards for the challenge HERE.

Mojo Monday 476 and Merry Monday 224

I doubled down today.  I loved the sketch on Mojo monday and the theme for MerryMonday.  A masculine christmas card seemed a bit strange, but hey, you have to have a theme.  I guess some cards could be just feminine.  This one I hope is a guy card. Maybe a guy with a good sense of humor card.

The sketch was fun too, I got a chance to use my new stitched dies.  They are only available until the end of this month.  Nov 2016, then it will be a wait until June 2017 to get them from the annual catalog.

I had not been using my colors that will be going out this coming May.  So, decided to use Mint Macoron, Watermelon Wonder and Tip Top Taupe for my colors.

The card base is 4 1/2 x 4 1/2.  Cut your base card the long way at 9" then score at 4 1/2, in the middle of that 9".  So, my second cut of Very Vanilla is at 4 1/4 x 4 1/4" then my Watermelong is 4 1/8 x 4 1/8".  The square with my moose on it is the largest of the square stitched framelits. Just use the circle that fits your sentiment.

The Stitched Framelits come with all 3 shapes, circle, square and oval all in one set.

A Post about Quilting

Just a note, if you have come here for Stampin Up cards, just scroll down. I'm just showing my quilting for this post.

So, yes, I quilt too. Just a couple of mug rugs to show.  These were the ends of table runners I put together and I didn't need the length so they became mug rugs.  I put strips together from a Jelly Roll purchased from MSQC.  Both of these are from the same Jelly roll, just selected to look different.

I love this fabric more then I can say, so gorgeous!   They will make nice little gifts for friends.  The table runners are for family.

Joyful Christmas

There are so many great sets in our Holiday catalog this year, it's really hard to pick a favorite. But the Seasonal Bells has to be up on the top of the list. I have used it so often.

Here I embossed in Copper, then laid the copper piece sticking out on both sides under the dry embossed Holly embossing folder image.    The banners from Banners for Christmas are my favorite as I love the stitching look.  And I've included a Stitched Oval die cut.  Those Stitched dies are only available for this month, Nov 2016, until the new annual catalog comes out.

My colors are: Night of Navy, Whisper White and Pool Party, and Pear Pizzazz.   The ribbon is a retired one.

I hope you enjoyed this project, thanks so much for coming by.

New Christmas card

It's been a really busy week, but we have a very nice Thanksgiving. We don't usually see our kids for Thanksgiving, but we have friends here who have a big family/friend gathering that lasts a few days, so I've been there, and in the mornings, I've been making my dish to take over.

I just could not help myself! I was not going to buy anymore Christmas, but the sale was just too hard to pass up. I got one punch and one die set on sale, and also got the stamp sets to go with, ending up with a savings over the bundle price.

This was one of them.  Hang Your Stockings stamps was not on sale, but the dies, Christmas Stocking Thinlits, were on sale. Combined price was a few dollars less then the bundle price.
Here is the list.  It ends on the 28th.

This was such a fun and easy card to make. The DSP is Candy Cane Lane, which has some of the most fun papers I've ever seen.   Colors are Real Red, Whisper White, Crumb Cake, with Silver satin ribbon and Cucumber green.
As usual, if you would like to purchase or just go to my store to see the list of products larger, just click on any image below. I've included the bundle price just in case you are seeing this after the sale is over.

Merry Monday 223_Snowflake Christmas

I'm making up for lost time. Hubby is gone all day today, so I got to play.  I did a Christmas project for the house, at least I got it started, then worked on cards.    I was a very bad girl on this Merry Monday card, I used a snowflake set from Sizzix.  I just love open snowflakes and doilies, I'm addicted to them!
So, here was the color theme:
The team did an amazing job with it, my mind was pretty much blank.
So, besides the snowflakes, I used one of the new oval stitched framelits, loving those things.
The word Merry comes from the Jar of Cheer set.  Very simple card today.   The watercoloring was done on Watercolor paper attached to Marina Mist which is attached to a Thick WW piece for the base card.
That's about it!
Today was the first day for the sale! It ends Nov 28th and there are some awesome things and very good prices. You can head over to my store here:  http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/kraftycat/
To see more.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Christmas Kitty

It's been quite a while since I have posted anything.  Besides making Christmas table runners for my family for Christmas, hubby and I took a little trip over to Lake Mead at Hoover Dam for a rally. We were gone for 4 day and had a really nice time.  Great weather and good company.  When I got home, I had to spend time getting class projects ready and I only had a couple days.

This little guy is made using the Foxy Friends set.  I happen to be the Cat Lady, so I made myself a kitty.  I'm loving the Jolly friends set and punch for the santa hats too, very different and a lot of fun to play with.   SU's Holiday catalog this year is fabulous! So many wonderful stamp sets and lots and lots of die sets and some punches.

My tree is from Santas Sleigh and the greenery is from Christmas Pines.   If I had to pick one set that got the most use from this catalog it would be Christmas Pines! I know you have seen it everywhere, it just is a great accent for most cards and so usable on it's own as well.  I didn't use the dies on this, just a couple of the stamps.

The background DSP is from the Foxy Friends DSP stack, a 6x6" stack of DSP.

I hope you enjoy and it gives you some ideas of your own.  Merry Christmas.
As usual just click on any image to be taken to my store where you can purchase or just check them out closer.

Candy Cane Christmas

Just messing around with some new product and increasing my stash of Christmas cards.   I wanted to use this Candy cane from the set Banners for Christmas. I thought about putting two of them crossed, but I am really in love with these banners out this year, so just did one, backed it with the new 3D folder, Cable knit, and a banner.

I also used 2 pieces of twine from the Bakers Twine Trio from the Holiday catalog! The gold in this pack is fabulous!   I sponged on some Emerald Envy for a bit of color.  And used Cherry Cobbler for my red, using my Aqua brush to fill in some color on the banner.     Just a very simple card.
I hope you enjoy and it gives you some inspiration.

Season of Cheer Christmas card, GDP061

A pretty simple card today for the Global Design Project challenge.  Do you ever find that a stamp in a stamp set, that is a very minor stamp actually gets used lots and lots?  For me, it is the one that stamped in white on the black. It is a great little stamp for lots of reasons, but I end up using it on dark colors for a sparkly sky very often, or just adding to the effect of the card with a little something.

I stamped the sentiment first then laid the die over top and cut it out as one piece.   I used Dimensionals to adhire my jar and the lid which is leaning against the jar.  Then I made my bow and glued the ribbon on the back side with just a little clear glue dot to help hold it on front.

I die cut some pieces and set them in place and put it all on my card base.

Tis the Season, GDP challenge #060, case the designer

Haven't you always wanted to put a santa hat on a Christmas tree?  I just knew I had to do it. Might as well have some fun with those Christmas cards.

This week at Global Design Project we are casing the designer who just so happens to be a PAL of mine, Brian King.  It's always fun to case Brian, he does such neat cards.

I just can't believe I waited as long as I did to get this Jolly Friends set, it's a bundle so there is a  matching punch.   The tree is from Peaceful Pines stamps and Perfect Pines bundle, and is in the annual catalog as a continuing set this year.

Colors are, Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Real Red and Garden Green.   The DSP is from Candy Cane Lane and if you can't see it well, those are little trees on it as well as white dots.

Find the products below, and click on the link above to come and see the teams and other players projects.
