We have gotten through Christmas

And now are moving on to New Years.  Mine was not so memorable, didn't spend time with family, we did that at Thanksgiving and now we live a bit far from them.  We didn't take the coach out this year so it was just us.  Also, hubby is very sick, will be trying to see the dr today.
Meanwhile I had plenty of time to play and scrap. I got a challenge done that I had been meaning to do. the Studio had one called Surprise me challenge, the surprise is the challenge is different each month, this time we were suppose to do a layout showing more then one generation. I had the perfect photo, taken when I was 3 and my grandmother had a family reunion at her house. Since she had 12 brother and sisters we were a pretty big family, but  they are not all in this one, some of the SD/Iowa family were not there, we lived in Los Angeles at the time where some of the family had migrated.
I used Snickerdoodle Designs kit, Outside My Window .
And there I am, over on the left bottom. If you are interested, you can find the challege here . I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, and if I don't post before, have a safe and sane new years.

Better late then never

Boy am I late, but there has just been so much going on I lost track of time.  We had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. We had 2 of our girls with their families here for Thanksgiving and the 3rd daughter and grandson flew up from Texas where they moved recently and we all spent the weekend in Las Vegas.
Anyway, sooo much going on with everyone right now. All the scrapbooking designers and stores are giving away goodies for Christmas and designing great new kits for Christmas, the ones I work for are no different.
Karen (Snickerdoodle Designs)  is giving an advent item away each day until the 25th. You might want to check that out, they sure are cute. She has a new kit on sale every day that matches up with the goodie and it stays for 2 days.

Amanda Thorderson has a new Christmas kit out called Christmas Tea, as usually, it's gorgeous.
She has that on sale right now.. Here is the preview of this months wallpaper.

Just click on the preview to download. You will notice I don't put a calendar on my wallpaper, that is because I use Rainlender, it's an awesome interactive calendar that sits on your desktop. If you'd like a calendar or even if you would just like to play, please visit Amanda's Calendar challenge at Digitals.
Her mini kit includes this months calendar and it's easy to put on the wallpaper.
As usual, I made this in 3 sizes, hopefully one will work for you.
If I don't post again this month, please have a wonderful Holiday.

Making Snowflakes

I thought I'd show off my snowflakes.  Now I didn't make the files, but a lady named Monica did and she has the neatest cut files!  You can check them out for yourself HERE  .
I've been trying out different papers for them. I'm doing them double sided and that seems to be what was intended. But you don't have to if you just want them for cards or added to the top of a box. I'm going to put mine together and put one each on my girls Christmas bags to be used as a tree ornament.
I found that I loved the double sided pearl paper from Walmart, it comes in a pad with 4 or 5 colors. I also loved the blue paper and I tried a heavy paper with raised shiny silver pattern on it.

New Month, new wallpaper

It's nov and I have a new wallpaper for you from Amanda's kit Sew Funky. It's an adorable kit and I hope you enjoy this little piece of it. I know I'm just a little late, but we are having busy lives right now. We are doing some kitchen remodeling and you know how that goes, or doesn't go, right now a company that deals with water damage is drying out my kitchen, seems in the process of putting in my granite, the dishwasher was taken out and put back, and started leaking. It got pretty bad before we realized it.
But on to the wallpaper, here is your preview.
And you can download it from here.   As usual I didn't put a calendar on it, I use rainlender, an interactive calendar that is free. But Amanda has a fun calendar challenge at Digitals.  She gives you a little mini kit and I just know you won't be able to help yourself, since the full kit is on sale you will just have to buy it. But there is your calendar.
You will find it here

Christmas cut files

I started out to try out an idea I saw on another site. And I ended up with a whole folder of files to play with. I have not tried these out yet, but you are welcome to them, I think they should be fun.
I have sized the cutout files to be layered over an A-2 card, I'd love to see what you do with them.
Here is what the zip contains:

Have fun playing. Go HERE to get your files.

It's fall

And even here in the desert it's cooling down some, not too quickly, but it's going.
I have your Oct wallpaper.   I used Amanda's  two new kits, Wild Mood Swings and Wild Mood Swings too, and they are indeed wild and fun to work with.
As per usual I don't put a calendar on my page, I use Rainlender, there is a free small version that has save me several times. It is an inter active calendar that always has the correct date and allows for putting in appts ect. You can choose to have it give you an alarm however much ahead you like or not if that is what you prefer.
Now, if you still want the calendar, Amanda has a challenge at Digitals each month with a free mini kit that contains the calendar, so you can have fun with the challenge and use that calendar on your wallpaper.
Amanda's link to her store is over on the right side of the page.

Some freebie SVG cut files for you

So, I finally got a new cutter.  I had a few min and decided to make up some labels for myself so when I needed them they would be ready.   Then I decided I liked the idea of having slots in them for ribbon to run through, so did them both plain and with slots. I hope you enjoy, I did do a test cut and it worked fine on my Gazelle.
Find the download here:

Have fun.

This months freebie wallpaper

It's sept, I'm sorry I'm a bit late with the wallpaper. I've got this back problem that has been ongoing for almost 2 months now, and I can't sit for long here. But it's done now. Sure hope you enjoy it.  I used Amanda's
It's Elementry page kit, and if you hurry over you can get it on sale. Also, if you particpate in Amanda's calendar challenge over at Digitals, you will not only get the free calendar but a cute extra mini kit for It's Elementry.
My wallpaper has the month on it, but I've left off the calendar. You can leave as is, or get the one for the challenge and add it in, or I use Rainlender, it's an awesome free program that is interactive, check it out.

In my preview I used a photo we took over Memorial day weekend when my kids were here. We toured Oatman AZ, right on old HWY 66 between Kingman and Bullhead City. Neat place if you get a chance to go there.  The burro's run free and are protected, for a while there had been a problem of people feeding the babies and they would choke, so now you will see signs on their forheads telling you not to feed them. LOL.
It's pretty funny looking but if it keeps them healthy, it's all ok.

Fun Challenge for me, and this month's free wallpaper

The Photoshop yahoo group I'm in decided to make a little challenge for ourselves. We had gotten to talking about making layouts using patterned paper. I know I love so many of those that come in the kits, but using them can be difficult, so it seemed like a good thing to try. I'm pretty pleased with how it came out. I used the Artisan Guild July kit, Creative Motives.

This is my youngest grandson, and the subject of many of my layouts. I'd love to do more of my other grands, but their moms aren't the best at getting photos to me.

Ok, now on to the Freebie wallpaper for August. I used Amanda's I is for Imagination kit. I just love this kit, it's going to be one of my favs of hers, and that is saying a lot as I love all her kits.
B sure to check out Amanda's Calendar challenge at Digitals, she'll give you a sweet little mini kit to work with, but will also have the full kit on sale for a very good price. You'll have to find your own sweet photo for your wallpaper, this guy came from a trip to Williams AZ Bearzona Wild Animal Park. Great park if you get a chance. Williams is right on RT 66. Click on the preview to be taken to the download.

New kits, new July wallpaper and other stuff

Here it is another month and I haven't posted in all that time. It sure seems to fly by, and the older I get the faster it goes. I am going to make a better attempt at stopping by here and posting. I have some awesome photos from a short trip we just came back from, so those should be fun to do up and post.

Amanda has gone into high gear and has several new kits. Featured as wallpaper this month is Mermaid Bay, a fantastic kit for all those summer layouts especially those taken at the beach. If you love this there are more extras for it that are free. Check Amanda's blog in my listings and you'll find a goodie or two there. I had a great time making up a set of BB pages to be given away free with the kit for the next few days, plus I did an extra that Amanda is giving out on her blog. Plus, her kit is on sale right now.
Also, if you stop by Digitals forums and take part in the calendar challenge, you'll get another little part free to do your calendar with.
As usual I have done the wallpaper in 3 sizes. Hopefully one of them will fit your monitor.
I hope you enjoy.
Yours of course doesn't come with the cute bear, he is a photo I took at a new Wild Animal park in Williams AZ. It is an awesome park and they are just getting started.
Just click on the preview and download your wallpaper.
Thanks for stopping by.

Death Valley Junction

Last month we took a little trip with friends over to Death Valley. I'm just getting around to scrapping the photos. I found this story very interesting. Marta Becket found the abandon buildings in Death Valley Junction and bought them from the Borax company. She turned them into a cafe, hotel and the Amargosa Opera House where she put on a one woman show.

You can find out more here. I used Rina Kroes new kit Revelry.

What's happening, new kits and your april wallpaper

Let's start with new kits, Amanda has had a lot going on in her life so we haven't had a new kit in a while. She just did 2 new kits for us, I'm so excited! They are just the cutest also and if you buy the bundle pack which is on sale right now you get an adorable alpha with it.
The 2 kits are April Showers and May Flowers. I used April showers for the April wallpaper you will be able to download.

Here are the 2 new kits, cute, huh?
So, here is the wallpaper, I make them in 3 sizes as monitors today are all so different. Because of that they maybe slightly different from each other.
I don't put a calendar on mine because I use a little program called Rainlender, there is a free version and it's such a useful little program.

Now, I told you I was now into the fun of cutting files on Cricut, however soon after, I found out that ProvoCraft was suing the little mom and pop programers who had out 3rd party programs so that you could do more with your cutters.
So, angry person that I was, I sold my cutters, but not to fear, I have purchased an even better one. Problem is, I am having to wait probably several weeks for it. So many people were angry and got rid of their Cricuts and bought other cutters that sales exceded the supply. Not to worry tho, maybe I'll have time to add more cutting files here.
Have a happy day, and I hope you enjoy the wallpaper.

New kit, new layout

Rina over at SBE has a new kit out, and it's is just stunning and so much fun to work with. I have decided to use it to start a new book, one for a friend who's husband recently died. They were members of our FMCA chapter and I thought she might like some reminders of fun times.

It's called Cherished, and makes a great all around kit as well as Valentines day and spring.

Isn't it gorgeous?

So, here is my layout. The page style is a template from SBE's template challenge for Feb.

I won at Card Scraps

So, if you don't already know, besides machine embroidery and digi scraping, I also love to rubber stamp, mostly cards. For whatever reason I don't care for paper scraping, strange, right? Well, I do stamp cards tho, and I have gotten into making cards for the troops. That makes me feel like I am doing something to help someone at least. If you do hand made cards, be sure to google CARDS FOR THE TROOPS, get the short list of rules for them and place to send to. They are not cards for the troops, but rather cards the troops can send home.

Anyway, I got off subject, I entered a contest on the CardScraps blog and won a stamp set. Cool huh?

And here is my winning card.

I'm home and I have a treat for you

I have been gone for the past 6 weeks, so have not been able to post to my blog. But we had a great trip, since we moved last Feb we spent Christmas in Ca near our kids then traveled down the coast to the beach where we watched the surfers and even got a glimpse of dolphins on two days.
Down to the FMCA Indio rally, then Quartzsite for a few days for the big bus rally, before finally coming home.
I have a new free wallpaper for you for Feb, made using Amanda Thorderson's I Remember Love kit, which she has put on sale for the month for you. I hope you enjoy using it. As usual it's made in three sizes, one of which I hope will work fo
r you. Also, I have not put a calendar, you can do that by either participating in Amanda's Calendar Challenge at Digitals where she will give you a little free kit to do that with, or you can use the neat little program Rainlender. It's free and has a lot of neat features.
