PPA 193 Sketch Challenge

Welcome!  I had to ponder this sketch for quite a while before it started coming together in my head.
I love, love, love, the Watercolor Wonder DSP, and the background for the butterflies came from that pack.  I picked up the 2 other colors from that piece of DSP, Daffodil Delight and Island Indigo.

I wanted to use the  larger butterfly punch with the petite butterfly punch on top, however I'd have had to cut my strip and piece it in to use a punch. So, I took the Butterfly die cut from Backyard Basics and used that, then put my Petite butterflies on top.

The Backyard basics is still available as a bundle at the special price until the new main catalog comes out, if you like it, now is the time, or it will have to be purchased as a separate stamp set and die set.

The sentiment came from Perfect Pennants, in the Occasions catalog, you have until June 1st on that one, however, until March 31st, for every $50 you purchase you can choose something from the Sale a Bration brochure. There is some neat stuff in there.

After doing my layering, putting on my tiny butterflies and stamping my sentiment, I sponged on a bit of the Daffodil Delight here and there for some interest.

I hope you enjoyed, click on any of the items below to be take to my store where you can get more info on the products, download catalogs or purchase.

Mojo Monday 334, You make me Happy

Mondays is so much fun anymore. Of course I had to retire to say that, but adding in the Mojo monday challenge really perks up my morning.

Today is tall and skinny card day, this one was really fun.  I decided to do the 3 1/2" x 6" card. I had to start with a 12x12 piece of Very vanilla CS, cut it the length by 3 1/2", then folded it at 6".

What do you do for an envelop for a card this size you ask?  You whip out your Envelope Punch board! There are directions for that very size.

I ended up using 2014-2015 incolors for this one.  The tag was created with the new Scallop tag punch in the Occasions catalog using Crisp Cantaloupe Core'dinations card stock. And I used a Stampin Up sanding block to shabby it up just a bit.

I used the Backyard Basics bundle stamps and die cuts for the flower and bird and See Ya Later for the sentiment (Sale a Bration brocure, these free for each $50 spent are only on for another month.

I recolored Very Vanilla Seam binding for the ribbon holding the tag and used 3 pieces of the Ruffled stretch ribbon at the bottom.   I also used one of the Circle framelits and the 2 3/8" scallop round punch.

I hope you like it and it helps with some inspiration, thanks for stopping by.

Stampin Up PALs Paper Arts sketch challenge

This card will be going out to a very special lady, she's having some health issues and I just want her to know she has me in her corner. It always picks you up when you get a hand made card, it lets you know that the person who made it went out of their way and really cares.  One of the reasons I love what I do, and I'm able to help other people make great cards too.

Every so often I just have to make a card using this years incolors. In my opinion they are the best incolor set to come out ever.  Not only is each color gorgeous, but they flawlessly combine no matter which ones you use together.   If you are color challenged, it's the perfect set for you and you can get all of them, all 5 ink pads plus paper for the price of the 5 pads.  The paper ends up free.

I used Baked Brown Sugar for my base card, then the Strawberry Slush DSP from the Incolor paper stack.    Layered on the Baked Brown Sugar using Core'd ations, running over it with a piece of sand paper first.
I used the Labels collect framelits to put my sentiment on and frame it, using the Perfect Pennants stamp set from the Occasions mini catalog.  The butterfly is from the Best of Butterflies stamp set. It is one of a monthly set that came out during the 25th anniversary year for SU in 2013 and will be available until next month.
Thanks for stopping by, hope I was able to give you a bit of inspiration.

Mojo Monday 333, Musical Happy Birthday

Welcome to my mojo monday sketch card.    It took me longer today to get it done and posted because I got to get my hair washed.   It's sad when that's a big deal. LOL.  But I had rotator cuff surgery and I can't use my arm.

And wow, do I miss my arm!

I use Modern Medley DSP for this, haven't used it in a while and I do love it. Also, it just seemed to pair with the stamps I used.
I think if I did it again, I'd put a piece of Very Vanilla under the rectangle of DSP, just showing a bit to separate it out, I thought about it and couldn't make up my mind.

Colors today are, Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Real Red.

It's hard to see, but the black strip is embossed using the Decorative Dot folder, and a bit of Real Red Ribbon for some pop.
Here is the sketch:

I hope you enjoy.  Please stop back again.

Stampin UP, PAL's Color Challenge 191

I read somewhere that we know our favorite colors from birth.  So, I don't think I can be blamed for not being all that in love with the colors for this PPA.  My favorite colors are blues, pinks, purples, reds.
Colors this week are Pumpkin Pie and Gumball Green and Whisper White, so what's a girl to do. I just figured the more white the better and you see what I did.  I love how it turned out, it's great to challenge yourself every once in a while using colors or shapes or whatever that are not normal for you.

I used the leaves from the hostess set Simply Sketched for the stamped base, then the Petite Petals stamps and punch for the flowers adding Pumpkin Pie candy dots to the centers.

I finished with one of the sentiments from Simply Sketched. I'm really going to miss using this set when the new catty comes out, it's one of my favorites.

Don't forget, it's Sale a Bration time, for ever $50 you spend from any current catalog you can choose something from the Sale a bration brochure. Free stuff! Love that.

Mojo Monday 332, Thinking of You

So, I am here one handed doing my Mojo card, what can I say, I was bored.  I had surgery for a torn rotator cuff last week and I'm in a brace holding my arm tight to the side of my body for 2 weeks. It's going very slow. LOL

So, I kept it simple. I used Real Red, gold and Whisper White.
TIP:  I put the glue on the gold stripes so it wouldn't show and would still hold down the vellum.

I cut the tag shape twice, once from red and once from White, then had to cut a smidge away at the bottom of the slit on the red one so they lined up and I was able to put the ribbon through. I tied the ribbon on with Gold Bakers Twine. .

It  looks like I stamped the flower then gold on top. Strangely enough, I did the gold first then the flower.  So, if you try this and want the flower to look like it's on top, be sure to let the gold dry, that can take awhile, or you can shoot it with the heat gun.

I used Happy Watercolor for the flower and gold splat and Sweet Essentials for the sentiment and added a candy dot to hold them down.

That's it, pretty simple today. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you can get some ideas from this.
Just click on photos below to be taken to my store  and see them better and get more info.

PPA190, You make me Happy

Todays challenge for PPA (Pals Paper Arts) is a color challenge.  Blushing Bride, Rose Red and Basic Gray.  Sounds like Valentine colors to me. But instead of the more traditional valentine, I made something that could be used for other purposes with the sentiment from Happy Watercolor.

I stamped the image from So Very Gratful  on the top, put the Chevron ribbon along side and a few blotches for interest. Cut the hearts from Hearts collection Framelits, add rhinestones and sentiment. Done.   Come join in the fun, these are great colors.

Get the Decorative dots embossing folder free with Sele A Bration. For each $50 you spend you can choose something free from the Sale A Bration brochure.
