Stampin Up, PPA177

This week we have a sketch challenge at Pals Paper Arts. I just love this little nativity scene.

I used Smoky Slate for my base card and Winter Frost DSP (132341)
The cute nativity is from the new Best of Christmas Set, (134384) Clear, each month SU comes out with a new Best of set. Mostly made up from the best of retired stamps with at least one new image included.
The Sentiment is from Wishing You from the Holiday Catalog. And a Candy dot attaches it to the card.

The snowflakes are hard to see as I had to lighten up the card so much, but they are all over the top piece.
I colored in the image using my blending pen and ink pads.

Thanks for stopping by, and just wondering, how are you coming along with your Christmas cards this year?

Stampin Up and Mojo Monday 316

I was tempted to do a Christmas card, I'm not making much headway with my own cards this year. I've been busy making quilted Christmas gifts and stuff for my SU classes, but I do enjoy my classes.

But, I've been wanting to use the birthday sentiment, and this was the perfect time. I paired the Delightful Dozen sentiment with Birthday Basics DSP.

Colors:
Very Vanilla
Raspberry Ripple
Crisp Cantaloupe

Supplies:
Delightful Dozen stamp set
Birthday Basics DSP (130145
Incolor 2013-2015 Core' dinations card stock (129958)
Circle Framelits (130911)
Rispberry Ripple Satin Stitched Ribbon (126845)
Finishing Touches Edgelits (127010)

I made the little 1/2" banners by using my 1" square punch, then cutting them in half.
Here is the sketch:
Hope you enjoyed todays card and it have you some ideas of your own.
As always, thanks so much for stopping by.

Stampin Up Christmas Tags

I just started out to come up with a little tag for a Make and take for a bazaar I'm going to do next month.  I've settled on the little one left hand side, middle row for that. What do you think? It has to be quick and simple but give a stamping experience and of course it has to be cute.
Top row both ends uses some of the new Silver foil that is in the holiday catalog, I'm really liking the festive flurries one.   The little tree is done in gold ink with SU's gold paper behind.

That little deer is in this months Best Of stamp set, I have loved that deer since it was in the catalog, a bit bigger then here, but still very cute.   These are really fun to do and will be so cute hanging from gift bags or on boxes.

As Always, thanks for stopping by.

Stampin Up and Mojo Monday 315

I have to give credit to Debbie from the Mojo Monday team this morning for my inspiration for this one. I had already decided on Christmas for my theme, but her cute card with it's simple look was just the ticket.
I had this cute stamp set from the Holiday catalog that I was dying to use and this was perfect.
It's called Wishing You.  It even has a message for the inside of the card.

I used Real Red for this one, usually I default to Cherry Cobbler for Christmas, but that's silly, this color is perfect.
I used Smoky Slate for the first layer and the smallest of the Festive Flurry stamps with Whisper White ink. Remember, that is a Pigment ink and can be used with embossing powder too. It's one of my favorite pads. It does take some time to dry tho if you don't emboss, just be a little careful handling it for a while.

I used the 1"square punch for my little banners, just cut them in half after punching, then make a quick snip up the center of the bottom and cut in to the end of that cut from each corner.
I finished it off with a pretty little rhinestone in the center of the middle package.

Colors:
Real Red
Whisper White
Smoky Gray

Supplies:
Wishing You stamp set, Holiday Catalog
Real Red Ribbon  126875
Festive Flurries stamp set, (be sure to buy the bundle tho as there is a discount) Holiday catalog
Rhinestone

So, here is this weeks sketch, why not give it a try, it's a lot of fun.
And here is the Wishing You stamp set:

And I am wishing you all a wonderful week.  Thanks so much for stopping by and as always, if you would like to check out the catalog (you can download a .pdf copy) or see any current promotions or place an order, go HERE

Stampin Up, Anniversary card for a special couple

I used to work as a school bus driver at a Christian school. We had a special couple I worked with. Wife was the elementry principal and her husband was my boss.
When they retired, they didn't take trips, play with the grands and in general have an easy and nice life, they went to African and worked  at a poor Christian school.  Later they were sent to an even poorer area where their was pretty much nothing and they started a new school.

These are the most special people in my life and their 50th wedding anniversary is coming up.  All their friends were asked to send cards as there will be a special party for them.  So, here is mine.

It's very simple, but hopefully is elegant enough to let them know how much they mean to me.
I used Hearts a Flutter stamp and die cut set. The sentiment is retired, I'm sorry about that, but I just didn't have anything else that fit.
I hope this helps you with your ideas.
BTW, SU has loaded more stuff to the clearance rack!  Check it out and place your order HERE

Stampin Up Mojo Monday 314 and PPA 174

I usually don't use one card for more then one challenge, I love making them all single, however, this is prime time for us crafters, and I've been super busy making the most awesome special cards for my
class to do, so I did make this one card for both Mojo Monday 314 and Pals Paper Arts 174.

The sketch was for Mojo monday and the colors PPA, colors are Pumpkin Pie, Pear Pizzazz and Baked Brown Sugar.
I used Yippee Skippee stamp set for the sentiment, and Gingham Garden (129310) for the patterned paper.
The ribbon is seam binding recolored.   It's just so hard to have exactly the right ribbon in exactly the
right color on hand at all times. You can have the color and just not have a size that works for the project, or the right size and not the color.

I simply cut a piece off and use a piece of my sponge dabbed onto my ink pad to color.
I used the new Chalk marker (holiday catalog) for the stitching around my circle, and both a 2 1/2" circle punch and one size from my Circle framelits (130911) for my circles.
So here is my sketch.
And here are the colors. Click HERE to go to Pals Paper Arts

As always, thanks so much for stopping by.

Stampin Up, Fall folder fun

I did this on awhile ago, and it just never got posted. I love playing with embossing folders, you can ink them up all you want and it doesn't hurt a thing, just washes off.
Depending on which side of the folder you ink, you get different looks.   This folder doesn't seem to have a right or top side, either way you use it, it's gorgeous.
I simply inked up one side side adding in a second color.
It's been a while, but I believe this is Daffodil Delight, Baked Brown Sugar and Calypso Coral.
I used an edge die, one of two in the Finishing Touches Edgelit die set.
I hope you enjoyed.  I'm going to get back to making my Christmas gifts.  Our family no longer exchanges gifts except for the kids and we don't have many left that can be called kids.
But I truly enjoy giving my girls, and that includes my Grand daughter in law, a box or bag with things I've made for them.
Right now I'm working on Mug Mats and I have a cute idea in mind for cups to go with.  And if I can get it all done, I want to make them each a Christmas tote bag with one of my Festive Flurry ornaments hanging from it.
Thanks for stopping by.   If you would like to place an order, please go HERE

One more Christmas card

Here is another one my ladies did in class last time.

This was the alternate card I showed them. Here is the one they actually did.

On both I wet embossed the main graphic sentiment. I used SU gold paper on this one, it doesn't show well in photos, but is gorgeous in person.  I also used the new Stylish Stripes embossing folder.
The base card is Very Vanilla.

On the top one I used Cherry Cobbler and Very vanilla.  You don't have to do the wet emboss, but it really does add something special.

The stamp set is O Holy Night.  Wood 131832,  Clear 131835

I hope you enjoyed and these give you some ideas of your own. Thanks so much for stopping by.

Mojo Monday, Stampin Up Festive Flurries Card

It's another Mojo Monday!  I didn't quite make it for the morning part today. I had a customer who came to finish up her class as she had to leave for an appt the day we had it and it ran a bit long.

I used my Festive Flurry bundle for the very first time, this is the smallest of the snowflakes. This set would make a fabulous ornament, watch for that. Oh yeah, I still owe you from the last time I posted.
I'll catch up, honest.

The random snow is a stamp from the Gorgeous Grunge set,  You just do not ever know what you will end up using for what.
It's all silver embossed, I love embossing and at Christmas it just makes everything so well, Christmasy.
Here is the sketch for this week, it's round or square week, and a fantastic sketch.
Colors:
Very Vanilla
Island Indigo
Pool Party

Supplies:
Silver embossing powder
Versamark pad
Festive Flurry Bundle
Joyful Christmas - Sentiment
Gorgeous Grunge - snow
Silver Ribbon - Holiday catalog 132137
Circle Framelits 130911
I sure hope this gives you some ideas for your own Christmas Cards.  Thank you so much for stopping by, I'd love to hear what you think.

Stampin Up Pals Paper Arts Challenge 173

I'm posting really late tonight. It's just too hard to stay in and make cards right now, the weather here in No AZ is just gorgeous.  We actually got kinda cool weather fairly early, it didn't get above 70 today I don't think.  It felt so good, we had the doors open all day and the kitties got to watch all the birds, bunnies and other assorted bugs and animals run around.

So, without further ado, here is todays card.

I flipped mine sideways, just because I could. And I decided to choose some unusual colors too. I love using new color combos.   This is Very Vanilla, Wisteria Wonder, Bermuda Bay, and Pool Party.
The graphic is from the Tag It set, it uses the Framelits from the Chalk Talk set. It's also SU's Ronald McDonald house set. Part of the price goes to to that charity.

I used a stamp from Gorgeous Grunge to add a little texture, A little piece of one of the papers in Birthday Basics DSP (130145).   Bermuda Bay 1/8th" Taffeta Ribbon, and a Designer Very Vintage Button.
Here is todays sketch.
Why don't you come and play along?

As always, thanks so much for stopping by. I'd love to hear what you think if you would care to leave me a little note.

Stampin Up Fast and Fabulous card for Sept 25

Ok so, usually I try to make it doable in 10 min, and this one may, just may take 15. But honest, it's pretty easy and fun.
I finally got Lovely As a Tree, the stamp set, not sure why I waited so long, they are so  versatile.

This stamp is just one small part of it. To get the fall leaf look I tapped ink on the stamp, starting with the lightest color. So, I have Crushed Curry, then Pumpkin Pie, and finally Old Olive. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. But I did try it about 4 times to end up with the best one.

Other then that, I just used the Beautifully Baroque embossing folder on Baked Brown Sugar and then sanded it down some.   I used Very Vanilla Seam binding to soften the look and the oval framelit which sized out just perfect for my leaves.

The Banner Greetings (Hostess set) finished it off.

I have seen so many different ideas using this set. And for all seasons as well.

Banner greetings is a hostess set. Remember, you don't have to have a workshop to get hostess credits. All you have to do is bring your order total to at least $150.

Thanks for stopping by, hope you got some inspiration from this.  If you should want to check out promotions, download catalogs or shop,  click HERE

Mojo Monday 312, A Stampin Up Birthday

We had a fun sketch today at Mojo Monday. Have you every entered. It can get addicting and it's always fun.
The sentiment stamp is from a set in the new Holiday catalog, Perfectly You. It's a hostess set with several stamps that you can punch out if you have the punches.  This one uses one of the Hearts a flutter dies,(130159)  there are 5 in the set and they match the Hearts a Flutter stamp set.

Here is a close up of the stamp:

The patterned backgrounds are from Birthday Basics DSP, 130145 in the main catalog.

Colors:
Very vanilla
Raspberry Ripple
Bermuda Bay

Supplies:
Birthday Basics DSP
Hearts a Flutter Framelits
Perfectly You stamp set, Hostess set, Holiday Catalog
Labels Collection Framelits 125598

Is this not a darling stamp set, but you can't wait too long, once this catalog expires, this set will no longer be available and remember, it's in the new Holiday catalog.

So, we had a bit of a rough weekend. All four of my kitties got sick, all at the same time. I am blaming a treat I bought at the pet store. A known brand I trusted, but had never given to my cats, only my dogs in the past.
They are still not eating, they haven't eaten all weekend, but today are starting to seem to feel a bit better and are trying to nibble at food a bit.
The vet says to give them another day.  I hate when my fur babies are sick.  Besides, everything they eat has been coming back up and I had quite the rug cleaning to do.

Here is hoping the week gets better for them.  I hope you enjoy my little card, and if you would like to check out the new catalogs, promotions or make a purchase, you can do that   HERE

Christmas cards for class

I know it can seem a little early for Christmas cards, but if you are a crafter you know it's really helpful to get an early start.  It takes some doing to decide just what you want to do and gather all the goodies to do it, then make your cards.

I had class last week, and we did one fall card and this Christmas card, I showed it two ways, I love them both, but we did up the one stamped in Cherry Cobbler.

This is a set of ornaments/dies from last years Holiday catalog, however they are still available on carry over.  The silver ribbon is in this years Holiday catalog and the frame cut out is Deco Framelits, new in this years main catalog.
The sentiment is from Christmas Messages also in the Holiday Catalog.

Here I used the Glimmer paper (124005).  It was just too stark when I first did it and it just needed a bit of something. I found the perfect something. It's from the set Very Merry Tags in the holiday catalog and uses the Mosaic punch. I stuck a rhinestone for a bit of added bling.

I always have a lot of fun with these ladies, so with all the holidays coming up, I decided to make class a bit more special.  I baked a Pumpkin bundt cake, turned out so yummy!  Plus we had a snack mix and fall flowers and a cute little gifty.
I'll post more about all that later in the week.

I will have more on class as well as photos of our table and my cute little gifty with a link to the instructions to make it later in the week. For now, thanks so much for stopping by.
If you would like to make a purchase or just look at and/or download catalogs, see new promotions ect, you can do that right   HERE

Stampin Up PPA 172

My PPA card is pretty simple this time. I think the poinsettia speaks for itself.
I used the Joyful Christmas set from the Holiday Catalog.
I used Very Vanilla and Cherry Cobbler, and I embossed the poinsettia. Then I colored in the berries using a Cherry Cobbler Marker, it's hard to see but I used a Rhinestone in the center also. And I added 3 Rhinestones at the bottom.

I embossed a piece of Cherry Cobbler with the Petals-a-Plenty embossing folder (116824) then cut 3 strips.

I used our new Envelope Punch board to make the matching envelope.  Card size is 5 1/2" square and I used that size on the board to make the envelope as well.

That is just about it. The punch board order # is 133774

Thanks for Stopping by and I hope I've given you some inspiration. If you would like to look or download catalogs or place an order, you can do that   HERE

Stampin Up, Fast and Fabulous card for Christmas

A quick, cute Christmas card.  This image is in a set called Very Merry Tags. It matches the Mosic Madness set and punch.  The set has several images matching assorted punches, or of course you can just stamp them right on your card or project.
I stamped the 2 on the outer edges, and stamped on CS, punched out and added a Stampin Dimentional to pop it out.
You will find Very Merry Tags in the new Holiday catalog.

I used Whisper White and Cherry Cobbler. Cherry Cobbler is a favorite of mine, and what I usually use anytime for my Christmas, so you may see a lot of it. Real red is also perfect, I just prefer the darker color.

The little stamped strips were taken from the original Mosic Madness set in the main catty.

Thanks for stopping by.  If you should want to place an order or download one of the current catalogs, you can do so HERE.

Mojo Monday 311 and a Stampin Up Christmas

Good Mojo Monday morning. I hope your weekend was a good one. This challenge is always a fun way to start the week.

I had a hard time capturing the shine of the embossing, but it is there.
The main image in this stamp set is the pointsettia, but it's got this lovely message and a fun leaf to play with.

The DSP on this card is from a paper pad that is sized for cards, there are 2 papers in this set, both double sided giving you 4 different designs. It's ideal if you are making a lot of cards and want a lot of paper that is the same, of course you can also use all the different designs at any time.

Colors:
Whisper White
Old Olive
Real Red

Supplies:
Season of Style 4 1/2"x6 1/2" paper stack. 132181 (Holiday Catalog)
Joyful Christmas stamp set (Holiday Catalog)
Real Red 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon  119251
Versa Mark embossing pad
Silver Embossing Powder
Large Oval Punch

I hope I've given you some inspiration. As always, thank you so much for stopping by, please feel free to leave me a message if there is something you'd like to see.

Stampin Up and PPA 171

It's that time of the week again, Pals Paper Arts time.  We have a color challenge and gorgeous colors they are. Very Vanilla, Baked Brown Sugar and Calypso Coral.

I thought it was high time I used some of that Core' Dinations paper I have. This one is one of the color in the new Incolors pack for this and next year.

Pretty simple, Calypso Coral base, then VV, then emboss the Baked Brown Sugar Core'Dinations cardstock and sand off until you get the look you want. I used the Chevron folder on mine.

I used the new Deco Labels collection framelits for my hole in the brown, then stamped my sentiment, from Delightful Dozen.   Added a piece of VV seam binding and that's it.

SU has been adding items to the clearance rack if you are interested. I hear there are some awesome buys right now.  If you would like to go look or purchase or both, go right HERE

The Paper Players 162 , a Stampin UP card

I'm so sorry it's been a few days since I've posted. I have had a little medical issue that has taken up my time. But I have a cute card for you today.
The challenge was to use Rich Razzelberry, Black and Pool Party for a card. I've been really wanting to do a chalk board card, so this seemed like a great time.

I started with Rich Razzelberry, then piled on Pool Party and finally my black piece.
I used the new Chalk Marker (in the new Holiday catty) to make the chalk line around the black card.
I used the Whisper White pad and white embossing powder to stamp the sentiment and the base vine/flower.

Then I stamped and punched out a Pansy in each of the two colors and added Candy dots in the centers. Done.
The stamp set for the images is Morning Meadow, it's a hostess set in the main catalog.
Sentiment is from Yippee Skippee.

Pals Paper Arts challenge 170, Quick card

Normally I post a fast and fabulous 10 min card on wed, but this week I waited and combined it with my PPA challenge card.  It was a tough one, using Crushed Curry, Midnight muse and Early Espresso.
I didn't have any Crushed Curry paper so I have substituted Daffodil delight, but the two dark colors
were the hard ones to use together.
I used Crumb Cake as my neutral color then added grunge using Gorgeous Grunge in both Crumb Cake and across the bottom in Espresso.
I did my flower stems in Midnight Muse and also the one popped up flower and the candy dots.
The flowers are the smallest size on the Boho Blossoms punch, sentiment came from Sketched Birthday stamp set, banner cut out using the Bitty Banner framelits.
The hostess set Morning Meadow provided the flower stamps.
Thanks so much for stopping by, love to hear what you think of this card and what type of cards you enjoy seeing the most.
