PPA 242, Butterfly grunge fun

Welcome.  Today starts 2 weeks of Color Challenge at the Pals Paper Arts.  If you have never tried doing a challenge, please do. I might seem intimidating, but honestly it's not. I does push you to create, maybe in a way you hadn't thought of before.

The Butterfly is made from Gold Soiree DSP.  This pack has not gotten the use it normally would have this year. With 2 operations and lots of recovery time needed, I haven't been able to do nearly as much to post on my blog as I usually do.  Anyway, our year (StampinUp) is winding down. In June we  will have a new catalog and this paper will be gone. So, think about getting it soon if you like it.
It shows up much better on my butterfly in person, and is a really pretty card.

And here you thought grunge couldn't be pretty.  . The Butterfly Basics and the matching Butterfly Thinlits are in the Occasions catalog and are bundle priced if you want both, so you would be saving 15 percent by purchasing them together.

Stampin Up and Mojo Monday 364

Have you played with challenges? They can be fun, challenging and help you to grow as a crafter.
I used to try to make mine look exactly like the sketch, but I found that often I wasn't all that happy with what I had created.
It occured to me that I needed to make my cards more my own style and at the same time try to follow the sketch as much as possible while doing so.  This is one of those times. I love the Blackberry Bliss and gold.
The two background trees were done with just gold ink pad, stamping off on paper first. The center one I did with the gold pad and gold embossing powder. It's all tied together with the gold striped paper and the gorgeous gold satin ribbon.
I hope you enjoy.
Below is the sketch for this monday.
Below please find the photos of the product I used on this card. You can click on any one of them and be taken to my store where you can check the products out further and/or purchase.

Stampin Up, Merry and Bright, Mojo Monday 356

Happy Mojo Monday to you.

I told myself I was NOT going to be doing Christmas cards this early.  Then SU went and released a couple of sets early.

Part of this card is made with Endless Wishes from last year. It's a photopolymer set that sold out so fast that most people didn't get a chance at it.   SU is now making their own Photopolymer stamps, and brought this one back since it was so popular, it's available now.
The other set in this card, Christmas Bliss, is also available now. Otherwise, you'll start seeing the Holiday catalog out in Aug and will be able to start ordering Aug 28th.

I started with Cherry Cobbler for my base, and I made my background using white and the smallest snowflake from the Endless wishes set, with a gold ink pad.

I hope this gives you an idea to start your holiday cards.

Pals Paper Arts 208 - Golden Birthday

It's a golden Birthday card today.  I just couldn't keep my hands off the gold. Gold Soiree DSP is just too gorgeous! I stamped and dry embossed the sentiment in gold as well. The base card is Blackberry Bliss.   I also used the new very soft gold ribbon.  Very quick and simple.

Why don't you play today too?
