Thoughts of You, Tic Tac Toe challenge

We have a brand new challenge that started up a bit ago.  It's called Tic Tac Toe, you pick a row to make your card, or you can pick them all.    I combined mine with a new technique thought up by a friend of mine in our Pretty Pals demo group.  She does the most fab watercolor.  You can find the instructions for this on Splitcoast Stampers. I decided to give it a try and used it for this card.

My colors today are: Powder Pink, Blushing Bride, Lemon Lime Twist, Whisper White
The little rose in the sentiment is embossed in copper, and I used a small part of the retired doily that was sitting on my desk.  The Glitter dots do not look very glittery here, but trust me they really are. I just could not get the light right for them.

So, go here for the challenge:
and here is todays challenge card:

If you have questions about my card, I have no way to write you unless you give me contact info. So you would have to come back to comments to see my answer, but I am more then happy to answer any questions.

Here are the products I used today.

Crafting Friends Forever, FMS294

I don't usually buy sets that are about crafting because I don't have many to send them too, but I do love this one.  It's called Crafting Forever.  It has some good sentiments that are usable too.

To get this look, I stampined my bottom part of this stamp onto one of the Wood texture pieces of DSP, then cut around it, stamped again on my paper, colored in my brushes and put my wood pot over the top of the stamped one. Super simple.
The blotches are from Swirly Birds.  And, although you can't really see the glitter, the dots are the new Glitter dots, really sparkly in person.

My colors today are: Powder Pink, Tempting Turquoise, Lemon Lime Twist and Berry Burst.  And I used watercolor paper for my top piece.

My card today is for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.  Click here to take a look.

Quirky Critters Hello, Just Add Ink # 365

I have been wanting to try out this set. I fell in love with it right off the bat, but sometimes it's hard to come up with an idea for stamps like this. Flowers are so safe, right?
I LOVE Quail!  When we moved here to AZ I found lots of them running across my back yard. Mom and Dad take the babies out twice a day to eat.  Mom leads and dad follows watching out for them, and while they are eating dad usually gets up high so he can watch out for them.

Anyway, I used the new Layered Leaves embossing folder here, I filled in some of the leaves on the edges using the same Lemon Lime Twist ink.   I also used Bermuda Bay, Fresh Fig and Whisper white.
To get my branch I cut 2 pieces from the Birds and Blooms thinlit die, one from a scrap piece of CS and one from a left over piece of the Wood texture DSP.     The flowers are from Daisy Delight stamp set, I think those little flowers are so cute.
I stamped my Quail with his sentiment in Fresh Fig, then used my aqua Painter with some alcohol in it and the stamp pad to fill in the color. The Alcohol will keep the dye ink from running and smearing.

As usual, the team at Just Add Ink did a fantastic job, go on over and see what they have done. And, here is the challenge.

Freshly Made Sketches 293, Friendship card

Strangely enough, this card was a lot of work. Not because it's hard to  make up, but because I had the hardest time trying to figure out how to make it and what colors to use and how to finish it.

We all have colors we gravitate to.  Usually we like them when we craft, designer our homes and buy our clothes. Mine are cool pastels. Blues, pinks, purples.   This DSP set had the same piece of paper in Rich Razzleberry, and I wanted so bady to use that, but I was really trying to use the oranges and greens.   If there is an orange I do kinda like it is this one, Calypso Coral, and our new Peek a boo Peach!  I think a lot of why I like that one is because it pairs so well with all the other colors in the new incolor set and they are in my wheelhouse.

Anyway, back to the card. I pulled out an old framelit set, Labels Collection from my retired box. I really wanted something different then what everyone else used.  The DSP is our new 6x6 stack called Petal Garden, it is simply gorgeous!

So here is the link for the challenge and the sketch. Please check out the challenge, the team has the most gorgeous cards going on over there.

Colors today are: Whisper White, Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Old Olive, black and Versamark for the tone on tone leaf images.

More Daisies, GDP#092

I've been trying to think up new ways to use my daisy set. This card was more fun than anything I've done in awhile, daisies are just too much fun to play with.   I decided to try coloring my daisy with different colors, leaving part of it white.  I think it turned out gorgeous!  And I didn't even use the glitter gems on this one, just did the center in white with the second part of the center in Crumb Cake.

I used the new Postscrip background stamp on this, stamped in Smoky Slate, stamped off first, then onto my card to keep it light and very much in the background.   Hmmmm, wonder if this would all work really pretty on Smoky Slate CS....

My green is Lemon Lime Twist, our new incolor and I used one of the Bitty bows that already have the tiny sticky dot on the back, how fun is that!?  I also used Marina Mist for my blue.
The blue is the part of the inspiration card that I picked up on.
Here is the challenge card, you can click this also, and check out the cards from the team.

Also, after stamping the daisy very lightly, I put alcohol in one of my aqua bush's and used that with my ink pad for the color. That way the stamped image won't run.  A blender pen works very all also, it has a chemical in it and not water, but I like the look better with the brush.

Gatefold Graceful Garden

One of my cards for class this month. My ladies had a great time with it.  The beauty  of this is that both gold embossed images do not necessarily need to be colored in. Some love to color, but I have a couple who really don't want to.    The small one in the circle on the belly band on the front is gold embossed, but the light was not hitting it well to show it off.

You can make 2 of these from one piece of cardstock, cut it 5 1/2" x 8 1/2". Score at 2 1/8" on both sides. Easiest way, just put the paper in and score at the 2 1/8", then turn paper all the way around and do it again.

I used a separate piece on the inside, but you don't have to.    My colors are:Whisper White thick, Sweet Sugarplum, Rich Razzleberry, Lemon Lime twist.
Cut a piece of ribbon the same length as the paper and glue together.
I cut  the CS piece of  Sugarplum the length of my paper, then wrapped it around setting it to overlap at the back and cutting off extra.  I stamped, embossed and colored in my small rose, then cut it out with my layered circles.

JAI #364, Thinking Of You

Just Add Ink has an inspiration challenge this week.  I knew right away what set I would use to start with.   This one is shaping up to be a favorite already.  It's called Grown with Love.   I had to lay the card flat to get the light to shine on the embossing so you could see it. It's done in Copper like the piece in the inspiration photo.

The team did a fantastic job, as usual. Click on the link to see.

It looks like I used a lot of product in this, but mostly I was just trying to find little things that would work for the vision in my head.    My colors today are:  Powder Pink, So Saffron, Pear Pazzazz, Tranquil Tide and Whisper White along with copper for embossing.

I used one of the new templates for the brick background, just used a large round brush and brushed over part of the stencil to create my background.
