Birthday Wishes, #FMS339

I couldn't resist this weeks sketch, look how cute. You can check it out here.

I used a set that is carrying over to the new catalog, it's no longer a bundle, but it is one of my favorite sets, each stamp and die is so gorgeous. So many things you can do with it.
My colors today are: Whisper White, Lemon Lime Twist, Highland Heather and Gorgeous grape, both new in the new catalog.   It goes live on Friday the 1st of June at 12pm MT.

I used the embossing folder, Layered Leaves, on a piece of white CS, then cut to fit and brushed color on them.  I like to use a big round brush for this, it comes out so much better, just lightly brush against the ink pad and then lightly across your paper. I glued my two corner pieces to my WW piece.

I die cut the flowering vine and used my double sided liner sheets, which allow for it to lay down without having to apply a glue after cutting.  It also helps the detailed dies to come apart easier.   I then added the tiny pearls and the white twine, and glued my top piece down.  I just butted the end of my flourish to the embossed corner piece so I didn't have the bulk.

My sentiment comes from a brand new set that is Mary Fish's one million Dollar  Varied Vases set.  I used another die that comes in a new set called Lake Side Framelits, there are two different sentiment framelits in that set.

I truly hope you enjoyed.   If you have trouble reaching any of us that use Blogger as I do, something is going on.  Changes are being made and we have been unable to see comments in our email as we used to.  So, I'll be checking and I assume others will be as well.    Thank for stopping by.

Birthday card, Festive Friday challenge 0008

I needed a birthday card for a grandson, and I've only got 4 days left to make and get it to him in the mail, so this had to be a quicky.    Doing a challenge aways helps me get started and Festive Friday had a watercolor challenge, that helped me choose colors as I have a hard time making the masculine cards, I know most of us do.
I choose the Happy Birthday framelit for the center.  First I did my watercolor, mixed a few drops of water with one or two drops of refil ink, spritzed my watercolor card with water then added some of each ink.  After I had it covered I patted the excess off with a paper towel.

White that was drying I got out a new stamp set,  Around the Corner. I put it on the Stamp positioner and stamped the left corner, then put in the die cut piece and the second corner. I cropped my paper close and used a corner rounder on two corners, added the little birthday hat and a few sequins, then matted it with black for accent, the black really made a difference.   I wrapped my white twine around the right side and glued it all together.

I hope you enjoy, the photo is not the best, I am so sorry, my camera seems to have issues I couldn't resolve, I may have to give that one up.

So, here is your link to the challenge.

Sitting here, Global Design Project #139

You know how you really love a stamp set, but you kinda wish there was a die set or punch to go with? This is one. It's adorable, and very usable as is, and it's staying another year, however, there is a new one too, similiar kind of, but with a die set, I think both together would make for a fun card. Any way, here is GDP's challenge for this week.  Go here to see the challenge.
This sentiment was just perfect for the challenge and I have a couple people I need to send cards to that this would work for.  I have old friends I've moved away from and new friends I've made online, and some of those I've actually been able to meet and spend time with.  That is part of the fun of being a Stampin Up demo.

The stamp set is current and is carrying over, but the DSP here is brand new and is called Nature's Poem.  There are some truly gorgeous papers in the set.

My colors today are: Whisper White, Tranquil Tide, Balmy Blue (new), Soft Suede, and Crumb Cake.
The die for the sentiment is also new, there are 2 of them in the Lakeside Framelits. I do love punches and dies to make fun cuts for sentiments.

So, who has they new catalog already?  Are you itching to purchase? They get better every year, if you don't have one, you should, maybe I could help you out.   My class got theirs during class last week and can't wait to order!
I can't link to the new sets, so will have to leave you with this:

Serene Garden, Festive Friday #0007

Today I'm combining retiring and new.  The stamp set/ embossing/die set is brand new in the new AC going live June 1.  And yes, I said embossing, that large image at the right bottom stamps, but also has a metal piece that embosses instead of cutting.   There are of course several dies in the set as well. The bird is one as is the butterfly although I choose not to cut it this time. The small corner piece does cut if you want.

Outgoing is Pink Pirouette.  For the first time in my 6 yrs with SU, I think I'm going to keep this color, or what I have left of it.   Look how it pairs with Lovely Lipstick, a new incolor.

I finally, after trying out 3 other things, decided to emboss this in gold and use my Pink Pirouett Blendie to color in.  I was lucky enough to score one of the Lovely Lipstick Blendies at On Stage as well so I used that to fill in some of the image.  I then added a glossy, raised effect to the Lovely Lipstick portions of the flower and the top of the bird's wings.  Hopefully you can see the shine.  If you haven't figured it out yet, I used the Fine Tip Glue pen, yup, that is just the old accents stuff with the fine tip.  It's actually easier to apply this way too.

So, right now here is the challenge, stop on over and play, there points you can aquire to buy things with.

The sentiment is from a retiring product I didn't get nearly enough time with. Flirty Flowers.  The sentiments in it are just adorable and very usable.

Saying Good by and fms336

As exciting as it is to have a brand new catalog, there is sadness saying goodby to amazing stamp sets as they retire. And this year, we are also saying goodby to several colors from our main color families.  No matter how great the new colors are, there seem to always be some you really don't want to part with.  On the plus side, wow, what a fabulous new catalog we have this year. And not only some new colors besides the new incolor set, but a few back that many had been asking for.

For me?  I am so thrilled to see Blackberry bliss back!  I have missed it and hopefully with the new ink cases combined with the stamp positioner, maybe, just maybe I won't get it all over myself this time.
Before we start finding out what I used, here is the links and the image for the challenge.
Check out the challenge here:
My colors today are:Pear Pizzazz, Very Vanilla, Grapefruit Grove (new incolor) and Blackberry bliss.

The stamp set retiring May 31st, is Grown with Love and the matching framelits is Garden Grown Framelits.  I also used Painted Autumn DSP, also retiring, and a brand new product, Nature's Twine. This pack of twine has 4 colors in it.  I love when I can get multiple colors in one pack and had asked for that.  You'll find some ribbon the same way.  I also used a fairly new embossing folder that is perfect for this kind of card, called Layering Leaves, I was tempted to sponge on some of the green over some leaves on the embossing, but thought it might be too busy if I did.

Thanks so much for taking a peek.

Sea of Textures, Just Add Ink #407

This card is made with another one of the brand new stamp/die bundles from the new Stampin Up Annual catalog. These ocean/underwater sets have been hugely popular!
I pulled out 2 retiring colors to add to this. I am so sad they are leaving, they are two of my favorite colors and I use them a lot. Marina Mist and Tempting Turquoise.
I also used, Whisper white, Pear Pizzazz, Pool Party, blueberry bushel (new incolor) and black.

The darker blue is from the Blue Brusho, I just sprinkled a tiny tiny bit in two places and used my Aqua Painter to move it around.

Before I go on, here is the challege from JAI for this week.
And you can check out the team's projects and the rest that are posted, right here.

The O on mine is of course, the Octopus.   I also LOVE the die for the netting, there is a stamp as well. Think about all the ways to use those. You could just stamp for texture, or stamp and emboss or as I did just die cut the netting. I used vellum here, but you can use any color, maybe Crumb Cake for rope? The sentiment here comes from Varied Vases, I wanted to keep it simple.

I stamped the green sea vegetation, then die cut more stuff and put it under the netting. The sand dollars are adorable, or you could just use the little star on the inside on your project.  But there are way more great ways to use this set already just from the demo's that have gotten it.  Be sure, I'll be doing more, next up a card to do in my class.

Just for you card, #fms335

I'm showcasing a couple of retiring stamp sets with this card. They will be gone by the end of this month.  Flirty Flowers and Teeny Tiny Wishes.  Wow, the sentiment set has been in the catalog for a long, long time. So, if you are interested in either one, you might want to place that order.  The Cherry Cobbler twine is retired, however I wouldn't be surprised to see it pop up at Holiday time.

I used Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green and Whisper White.   I'm also using the Challenge sketch from Freshly Made Sketches for this week.  Head over here to see what everyone else has done.

One of my favorite tools is embossing folders, this one is called Layered leaves and is current.  And the leaves are from the Flourish Thinlit dies, also staying in the new catalog.  I did emboss this flower. I have a very old jar of Cherry Cobbler embossing powder that I used.

New catalog, new incolors and GDP#136

I'm just not sure how to start this blog post.  This card was made using the stamp set inspired by my upline, Mary Fish, for her 1 million dollars in sales. It is brand new in our new 2018-2019 Annual catalog. So, to those of us who are Mary's downline and love her so much, this is very, very special to us.

Due to the fact that I was at onstage last month, I was lucky enough to be able to buy this before most anyone except other onstage goers.  It's already quite popular even tho it's ability to be ordered was very limited, so coming up with a fresh idea?   But here it is.  I used the GDP136, this weeks, challenge for this, which worked out pretty well I think.

I used the brand new incolors on this as well as the brand new stamp and punch set.  Colors are: Lovely Lipstick, Call me Clover, Grapefruit Grove, Pineapple Punch and Basic Black and Whisper White.

I hope you enjoyed this peek at items in the new catalog.

The Rhinestones I used are the reg ones, I was lucky enough to score a new Lovely Lipstick Alcohol marker at Onstage, so I colored them with that.
