It's that time of year for Birthdays cards, FMS#372

Happy weekend,  I hope you are having a good one, and if you are in parts of the world that are covered in snow and cold, stay in and stamp!  There is no better time or reason.

It's almost Feb, so time to get cards made for 2 of my daughters who's birthdays are in Feb.  I thought this sketch would make a good one. I hope you like it too.

Here is the Freshly Made Sketches, sketch, by my friend Linda, I try to always do the challenge when she is in charge.  Check out the challenge and the teams submissions HERE.
It's a great sketch, wide open for you to be able to do your thing.  I had several thoughts in my head about ways to go about this, one being using an embossing folder across the card, but opted in favor of a piece of gorgeous DSP.  Every time I look though my DSP this one just stops me in my tracks, but this is the first time I actually pulled it out.  It's drop dead gorgeous.
It's from the All My Love DSP pack in the new Occasions catalog.   I combined it with an older set Flourish Thinlits, it's the thinlits that go with the Falling Flowers stamps. They are in the Annual catalog.

My colors today are: Lovely Lipstick, Crumb Cake, and Flirty Flamingo.
I cut my base from Crumb cake placing it in the long position on the trimmer and cutting in half at the 4 1/4" mark,  then I cut a piece of Flirty Flamingo at 4x 5 1/4".  I need added a piece of the DSP, 4"x 3". I added my piece of Lovely Lipstick ribbon attaching it around the back side and glued it down to my base card.

I first die cut my flower using Lovely Lipstick, adding  multi purpose adhesive on the back first, laying my die on the front of the card stock.   I took a piece of Crumb cake, took the backing off the back of my long flower and glued it down, then cut the panel to size, as close as I could to the die.

I used the Sentiment from Perennial Birthday and cut it out using the Petals & More die.   Then I added rhinestones on the flower and at the top of my card.

Thanks for stopping by.

Wonderful Romance, Festive Friday #0026

Happy Friday, hope you all have a nice weekend.  My weekend extends all week long, the benefit of being retired.
I'm doing the Festive Friday card challenge and I'm using another of the new Occasions catalog sets called Wonderful Romance bundle.

It's a gorgeous set with totally awesome dies, look at the edge die!    And the challenge can be either/or, or both.

I've been forgetting to use Crumb cake so today was the day.  I love Crumb cake, not so much the darker browns, not sure why, so I rarely use those at all. I really should make an effort to toss them in every so often.

So, todays colors are simply: Crumb cake, Whisper white and Merry Merlot.  I usually love coloring in this type of open stamp, I just really like them that way, however, for some reason this looked just perfect in my eyes for this card.
What do you think?
The crochet trim is retired, but there is a really pretty 1/2" lace trim in the A/C.  Item # 141672,  Page 200.

Festive Friday #0025, Kitty card

I have been looking for an excuse to CASE (Copy and share everything) the cat card on page 16 of the Annual catty.   I just fell in love with it, what a great way to use this punch to make a more elegant card.    You'll find mine a bit different, as I don't seem to be able to do anything as an exact copy, nor do I really want to, I love putting my own touches on them.
This is for the Festive Friday challenge, if you haven't tried it, you might want to.  They always give 2 ideas that you can do either/or, or you can combine them into one card.

The challenge lasts 2 weeks, so you have plenty of time and you accumulate points for gifts.  How fun is that?    Go here   to check out the challenge.

I'm afraid that I used a slew of product on this, I just reached for what I needed, you can change yours anyway you want should you decide to try a copy of that card.

My colors are: Soft Seafoam, Pear Pizzazz, flirty Flamingo, Crumb cake.

I started by using one of the new Rectangle stitched dies for my layer, then just added as I went.  I used Brusho first to give some background texture, here I used the Moss green.
I sponged a bit of Crumb cake on the cat to add a bit of vintage flavor.
Thanks so much for checking this out today.

Lovely Day Teapot, Freebies from SAB

Usually I like to use challenges as a jumping off point to get my card going. But I just got my new Occasions and SAB shipment and I had an idea  running around in my head right away.
This is far and away my favorite tea set from SU!  The pot and the cup are just lovely and the sentiments are really nice and such a pretty font.

Colors first:  Whisper white, Pear Pizzazz, Mossy Meadow and Blushing Bride.
I stamped my teapot in black on the Floral Romance DSP.   The stamp set is for sale in the occasions, however, the die set is in the SAB, it takes a $100 order to choose this option, but really,  aren't you going to spend that much anyway and it makes for a much less expensive bundle.

I stamped, cut and colored in the flowers with blends, and cut the leaf from Mossy Meadow.  Added some random dotting around the pot and done.

Thanks for stopping by and checking what I've been up to.

A Little Note, FMS#369

I know, my posts have been few and far between lately, but there has been so much going on here. My health, hubbies health, car health. LOL. I'm sensing a pattern here.  But today I sat down and  started thinking about the FMS sketch and ideas started popping up in my head so I had to sit down and do something about that.

Check out the challenge HERE.

I get so into making Christmas cards when the Holiday catalog comes out each year, that I forget about all the wonderful things in the  Annual catalog.  One was this gorgeous laser cut paper we got.  It's very delicate, and can be hard to pull out, but it's worth the effort! We do have a whole new set of it in the Occasions catalog as well and if it is possible, it's even prettier.
I also used this gorgeous DSP called Petal Promenade, while there are whole sheets of gorgeousness, there are also some different shapes to be had, like this wreath shape, and squares ect.  I cut the wreath shape out using one of the layering circle dies, it wasn't perfect, but I think it worked.

The ribbon is one of 5 in a set of different colors that are FREE, yup, it's in the SAB catalog and free with a $50 order from any current catalog if you choose it.

My colors are: Whisper White, Grapefruit Grove, Tranquil Tide, Blushing Bride and Melon Mambo.

The butterfly is in Butterfly Gala bundle and has a punch to go with. They are gorgeous and I love the sentiments as well, also the price is pretty good too.

Thanks for stopping by, if I can answer any questions just ask.
