Fast and Fabulous 10 min card for July 31

I have a great one for you today. My upline issued a challenge to all of us in her downline last weekend.   We created and posted Clean and Simple cards all weekend and the winner by random number got a prize.
This is one of the ones I did and I fell in love with it.

I wish the colors showed better. The Wisteria Wonder looks so awesome with the Pool Party. Turquoise and lavender/purple is a great pair.
I only used one stamp set, Polka-Dot Pieces.  The butterfly in this set works with the Elegant Butterfly punch, then I added a couple of pearls just because.

Also, the bird uses the Bird Builder punch.
So I have a question for you.  Do you prefer just one stamp set for my 10 min cards? Does that make it easier?   Please leave me a comment and let me know.
And Thanks for stopping by.

The Paper Players Challenge 156, Sneak Peek from the SU Holiday catty

I decided to play with the Paper Players. I just got this set of fall stamps from the new Holiday catalog. BTW, you will be able to purchase from it in just 2 days, the 1st of Aug.   This one uses the Apothecary framelit dies.  I love how we are getting new stamp sets that use punches and die cuts that we already have.

I started with Early Espresso as my base card, then Calypso Coral. The little leaf is from a retired hostess set, Four Seasons, I just used the same ink color as the paper for a bit of background.
I used my Neutrals Designer Series paper pad for pattern paper, and Daffodil Delight to brighten it up a bit.
I cut out the same die cut from Espresso, cut it across the middle and glued to the Crumb Cake stamped piece.

I hope you enjoyed, please feel free to join in the challenge, it's a lot of fun.  As always, thanks for stopping by.

Mojo Monday 304, Stampin Up Thinking of You

It's round or square week at Mojo Monday.  I finally used my Wildflower Meadow stamp and embossing set. It's pretty neat, is a full card sized images that you stamp then use the embossing folder over the image to make it pop. After that you can just leave it alone or dress it up as you please. Quick and easy.

Today I used it a bit different, after stamping and embossing, I used the Circles Framelits to cut a portion of the image, then added little flower centers with Candy dots.

On the side I used one of the Needlepoint borders, it just adds a little something.
And here is the sketch:

Colors:
Very Vanilla
Island Indigo
Crisp Cantaloupe

Supplies:
Venetian Romance DSP  130144
Circles Collection Framelits  130911
Wildflower Meadow Bundle
Sweet Essentials for the Sentiment
Needlepoint Border embossing folder
Candy Dots

And thanks for stopping by. Please let me know what you think in the comments section.

Pixel Maven Challenge 024

I'm home and we don't appear to be going anywhere this summer, and it's summer in AZ. We don't go outside much.  So, I'm having my fun doing challenges.

Today I joined the Pixel Maven Challenge, you will find it in my bar on the right side.  It's a color challenge, White, Coastal Cabana, and Baked Brown Sugar.   Love those colors.

The doily is part of a set of three on a Sizzix die called Large Delicate Doilies.
Tip:  If you use any of the Sizzix thin dies like this one, it helps to put packaging tape across the surface of the die.  You will have better luck with the cut and no have to clean out tiny pieces from your die.

The sentiment is from Harvest of Thanks, in the new Holiday Catalog. You'll be able to order from it soon, Aug 1st.
I used the Apothecary accents framelits to cut it out.  The little banner strip is paper from the Designer Series Paper Pad (Incolors) and the seam binding in between I recolored using a sponge and my ink pad.
The little stamped images is a small stamp in the Mosaic Madness stamp set. I put a rhinestone in the middle of each one for just  a touch of bling.

I hope you enjoy, have a great weekend, and thanks for stopping by.

I used Modern Medley DSP Along with Very Vanilla, Marina Mist, and black.

I also used parts of the Chalk Talk Bundle, and some denim ribbon.

The other part of this bundle are a set of framelits that cut out the pieces.

Thanks for stopping by.

Stampin Up 10 min Fast and Fabulous card, Wed July 24

I headed to my craft room yesterday to make a 10 min card for you. But I must have just been in the creating mood, and couldn't stop there. I ended up with 2 cards, one of which is this one.  It really makes up quickly, however it could take a few more min then my usual 10 min cards.

I used the new Stylish Stripes embossing folder from the Holiday catalog. You will be able to order from that one Aug 1st.You are going to love this new catalog, it's done so different and is gorgeous.

I used Whisper White and Strawberry Slush.  Stamps are from Sketched Birthday and the pattern paper is one of the new Designer series paper pads, this one is the Incolor one for 2013-2015.

To cut out the sentiment I used the Bitty Banner framelits.

I hope you enjoy and as always, thank you for stopping by.

Merry Christmas 2013, sneak peek

What? It's not Christmas??????????  Really???????????????
Oh shoot. I promised myself I would not make a Christmas card this early. However, I just got a big order from SU. A few of the items were preorders from the new Holiday Catalog.

This embossing folder was one of them.  It just screamed Candy Canes to me. I HAD to make a Christmas card. It's called Stylish Stripes.   Tell me what you think. Quick and easy.
I used Whisper White and Cherry Cobbler.  I inked up one side of the folder using my brayer, and ran it through the Big Shot like usual.
Wrapped the ribbon around, Cherry Cobbler Seam binding.
On top of that I used the smallest of the new Deco framelits, then stamped Got Mistletoe on white and used the XL oval punch to cut it out, layered it onto the Deco framelit piece and that was that.

As always, thanks so much for stopping by. I can't show you the sets here yet, as I have to wait until the 1st of Aug. That is the first day you will be able to order from the Holiday Catalog.

PPA164 Sketch Challenge, Stampin Up

Welcome.  Todays card is made from the new PPA (Pals Paper Arts) sketch challenge.

A quick and simple card, and so many ways to use the sketch.
Here is todays sketch, why not give it a try? You will find the link to PPA on my side bar.

I decided to use some of the pretty blue/greens we have now and threw in Baked Brown Sugar from the new Incolors for some contrast.   I cut my strips 1 1/2" to about 2" to start and tried them out on the page then trimmed so that they fit nicely, then I put them in the embossing folder and ran them through the Big Shot.
I decided on the Baked Brown Sugar for my layer as well, but any of the colors would work great.  then all I had to do was choose what stamps and shapes to use for my sentiment.
I tried a few things. I knew I wanted to use Chalk Talk stamp set, but my first try using one of the die cuts from the bundle didn't work well, just too skinny.  So I pulled out the ovals and that worked.

When I was done it looked good, but just a bit plain.  I needed some bling, I love bling. I know the Rhinestones don't show well in a photo, but they look very sparkly in person.

Isn't this just such a neat stamp set? Very different and fun. The larger bread tag is great on a card and really great on a little gift and it has a die in the framelit set.
As always, thanks so much for stopping by, love to hear what you think.

Mojo Monday 302

And a good Mojo Monday to all of you.

SU has a promotion going until the end of July, buy 3 packs of DSP and get one free. As you can see, I have taken advantage of that. Woo Hoo, I have lots of DSP. I like this years DSP, I'm finding a lot more options for the smaller patterns that I perfer often.
Giggle Greetings is the stamp set. I had to have this one as it has a cute, funny kitty image and saying, but the rest of them are cute too. Total of four in the set. This one says "Age is something that doesn't count unless you're a cheese".

Colors:
Very Vanilly
Crushed Curry
Wisteria Wonder
Coastal Cabana
Supplies:
Gillge Greetings
Afternoon Picnic DSP  131390
Candy Dots

AS always, thanks so much for stopping by.

PAL's Paper Arts Color Challenge 163

Welcome!  Today is another color challenge for the PPA, we now have two teams, so 4 challenges a month, 2 color and 2 sketch.  Todays colors are Cherry Cobbler, Midnight Muse and Very Vanilla.

Red and blue are two favorites of mine, so I was happy, .

Pretty simple actually, I used Very Vanilla as my base card, then layered CC over the top after embossing it using the Modern Mosic emb folder.
I put on my VV little banner strip. TIP: to make the banner end, just find the center, snip up a ways, then snip on each side up to the end of the center snip.

I used my Ovals Collection framelits and choose a size that fitted under the Apothecary accents Framelit.
Stamped and cut my saying using Layered Labels stamp set, and one of the dies from the apothecary accents framelits.

I then punched out a 1 1/4" scalloped round, punched out the Boho Blossoms twice, once in each color, then layered, punched two holes and put my twine through and tied a knot.

I hope you got some inspiration from my post today, and Thanks for stopping by.

10 min Fast and Fabulous card for July 10

It's wed again, and that means another 10 min card. I hope you enjoying this series, I'm finding it a lot of fun and am also finding that I really don't have to put so much time into all my cards.
So, how did I make the circle behind the flowers?  I pulled a very old trick out of my bag.  Take a piece of fun foam, and cut to the size and shape you want.  That's getting a whole lot easier, I just used one of my round dies.

But it has gotten a little harder too, I just LOVE the new foam ink pads, but it was not easy to do this using them. They are so juicy and the fun foam wanted to stick, so I found I couldn't put it on a block.
It ends up giving a more sketchy circle, which I think I really like.
Colors:
Whisper White
Perfect Plum
Soft sky

Supplies:
Field Flowers stamp set
Perfect Plum Taffeta Ribbon.   Unfortunately this color in the taffeta has been discontinued.
You might want to pick a color for the card base and flower that you have a matching ribbon for.

Hope you enjoyed todays card, and as always, thanks for stopping by. I'd love to hear your comments.
If you would like to place an order, just click on the link on the right side and that will take you to my order site.

Stampin Up PAL's July Blog Hop

Thank you for joining us for the July Pals Blog Hop to celebrate the 2013-15 In Colors! Are you ready to see wonderful creations made with Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding, Strawberry Slush, Baked Brown Sugar and Coastal Cabana? We all love to make these projects, we hope you enjoy viewing them.
You should have just left stop number 1 on the Pals Hop - Dawn Tidd Dawn Tidd at Tiddbits from Dawn. If so, you are in the right spot.  If you get off track, the full blog lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.

So, it just would not be a complete Hop if at least one person didn't mess things up. I just totally lost sight of the fact that it was suppose to be new incolors. It would be bad enough but I happen to be in
love with the new incolors and seem always to be using them. So much so that I have been trying to make sure I use some other colors.
These are new colors if that counts for anything.  Smoky Gray, Blushing Bride and Pear Pizzazz.

Such a simple card, but I think the watercolor flower just makes it. I used the Woodgrain embossing folder in Blushing Bride, then the Pear Pizzazz chevron ribbon.  I stamped the flower from the new Hostess set Simply Sketched and used my blender pen just touching the tip into the ink pad, to watercolor the flower.
I stamped the sentiment and used the Circle Framelits to cut it out, just did a little inking on the edge of the circle and applied it over one end of the card.

I find I am using this set over and over, such great graphics and it's fun to color them in.

The next stop is  Amy Lazzell at Just a Thought...Cards by Amy , stop number 3 on the Pals Blog Hop! Thanks for visiting – and I hope to see you next month!

Mojo Monday 301, SU Thinking of you

Good morning.  It's monday again and you know what that means.  Another sketch from Mojo Monday.   Believe it or not, this one took some thought, well, maybe because I start on them at 6am, ya think?  I normally wait until a lot more normal time.

I wanted to try something I have been seeing lately, I almost did 2 colors on my oval, but I decided one would work better for this. I stippled the color on using a stipple brush and my ink pad in Coastal Cabana.

I started with a Crumb Cake card base, sure hope they never, ever get rid of this color, it is just so usable.
I cut a width of Soft Suede and left it a little longer then I needed so I could punch the edge and then trim so it looked the best.  Then I used a piece of Early Espresso patterned paper from the Neutrals collection DSP pad.  I made a small cut in the center bottom of that piece and then cut at an angle on both sides to get my banner end.
I layered that with Coastal Cabana Core'dinations from the 12x12 pack of incolors. I used a piece of sand paper on the Core'dinations piece to rough it up a bit and take some of the color off.
After I stippled color on my oval, and stamped the flower from Best of Flowers stamp set, I used the sponge and pad and went around the edges a bit to define them.

I stamped my sentiment from Sweet Essentials and added a bow from Bermuda Bay 1/8" taffeta ribbon. I liked the darker color for interest.

Here is this weeks sketch.

The Best of Flowers set, it's not in the catalog so you might want to jot down the number, or it can be found on the SU web site. The flower circled in pink is the new one in this set. 133342 Clear.

Thanks once again for stopping in.

Gift Purse

I have something very different for you today. Yes, I am a SU demo, but I have to admit, I own a Eclips cutting machine.
I love, love, love my Big Shot, you will loose fingers if you try to take it from me, but my Eclips comes in handy too sometimes.

Right now SVGcuts is having a little contest. They gave us a free little gift purse file from their new set of all kinds of cute purses, gift bags and tote bags and are giving away a prize if you make it up and upload it to their site, so I did.
Since most of my gifts happen at Christmas, that is the theme of mine.

So, what do you guys think? Is it cute?  It's hard to tell, but the handle and white piece on the flap are both glitter paper, looks so cute in person.
So thanks for checking it out.
So it's now sunday and I have created a second little bag. Just having too much fun.

There you go, so which one do you like?

Stampin Up Thank you card

First I have to tell you that as an SU demonstrator I belong to a fantastic group my upline has created.
We have places to chat, show off what we are doing and more. Mary Fish is the driving force for the Pretty Pals group.  I have found untold benefits to being in this group and anyone signing up under me or any of our group is included. And I have to tell you we have so much fun, and there is so much
helpful info we share as well as great support.
So, recently Mary set us up with a fun weekend with prizes and all. One thing we had to do was make and post a Thank You card. So, here is mine.

I am a huge fan of black and white, especially with one other color, for this that color is Strawberry Slush, one of the new yummy incolors.
I layered Strawberry Slush over the Whisper White card base, then a layer of DSP called Modern Medley (126926).

I used the Ticket Duo punch to punch out the sentiment.
I  used the Delicate designs embossing folder (127023) then cut it out using the Edgelits Large scallop die. (127019).

The ruffled ribbon comes in all the new incolors, and I choose to add that under the black strip, then layer a smaller strawberry strip on top of that just to break it up and add continunity.

As always, thank you for stopping by, and please leave me a little note if there is something you would like to see done, and I just love reading your comments.

Pals Paper Arts challenge 162, Patriotic Card

Happy 4th of July,  our Independence Day in the United States.  I will be off to the traditional BBQ
and I hope you all have plans to enjoy and reflect on this day as well. Our country deserves to be celebrated.

So, for todays PPA Challenge here are the colors we had to work with, very timely of course.

We (especially hubby) are huge lovers of all things patriotic, so I do hope you enjoy my card.
I used the Stripes embossing folder, it was perfect for this, I spritzed it with some red, then inked up my brayer and ran it across the top after embossing.
I cut out the blue and distressed the edges some, stamped and cut out the star from Simply Stars.

Got out the Celebrate from Best of Birthdays for the sentiment.  I used the Crumb Cake to dirty up the sentiment a bit and attached, added a Candy Dot on each end of my little flag.

Cut 3 stars and used Stampin Dimentionals to attach them.  It was a fun card, and not difficult at all.

The item # on Best of Birthdays is 132929 clear Mount. The best of sets are available until March of 2014, but are not in the catalog, you'll find a separate flyer for them.  One comes out each month, all are $14.95

And here is the Simply Stars, I got this from SU free during a Regional and really didn't think I would use it much, but much to my surprise, I am bring it out all the time. So many uses, and it'll come in handy for Christmas as well.

Thank you for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed what you saw. I would love to hear what you think.

Mojo Monday 300, Stampin Up card

Good morning!  I was up at 5:30 scrambling around to get my card made. My usual monday. I love doing Mojo Monday and I like getting my card in as early as possible.
I started my card finding the image that I liked and would work in the spaces I'd have. Any of these from the Timeless Talk stamp set would have worked, but I think my favorite is the phone and Hello There sentiment together.    It's a great card just to send a note to someone in.

Colors:
Basic Gray
Smoky Gray
Daffodil Delight
Island Indigo
Supplies:
Gingham Garden DSP -129310
Timeless Talk Stamp set - 126607 clear  126605 wood
Paper Percing Essentials - 130932
Blossom punch - 12603
Pansy punch - 130698
Candy Dots, regals - 126187

I dearly love all my punches and die cuts, punches are so quick to grab and punch out, but die cuts have the ability to cut anywhere on the paper.

Here is the Timeless talk set, so many things you can do with this one.
I hope I have inspired you a little bit, and as always, thanks for stopping by.
