Easter Blessings, fms#381

I decided that this year I would send Easter cards to my girls and a couple of friends, they will get an embroidered lace cross bookmark inside.
This is the first card, I got my start with the Freshly Made Sketches challenge for this week.
Check it out here and see all the lovely projects.

I did use retired product on this card, the  set of stamps and dies with the cross is from Hold On To Hope set from last year.  I think it's the best set of it's kind SU ever put out, so I hung on to it. Everything else is current although the foil here is not available as it was SAB and is gone, but we have plenty of foils in the annual catalog.
I started by choosing my DSP, this one is from All My Love DSP, that gave me my colors. I then went to the cross and got it done and stamped and went down the layers.  The sentiment is from a new product in our annual catalog, Itty Bitty Greetings.

My colors are: Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Flirty Flamingo, and Lovely Lipstick.
The die for the sentiment is from Lakeside framelits in the annual catalog.

If Flowers were Hugs, Just Add Ink #449

This weeks challenge is so bright and springy, having said that, it can be a bit harder to use 3 very vibrant colors together.  The trick is to use small amounts of one or two of the 3.
Here is the challenge:

Check out the challenge and all the other projects here.

The Gorgeous Grape is actually a dark enough color that I was able to use a bunch of it, and while I used the Bermuda Bay as the base card, I only used it very lightly for the sky.
Then just touches of Lovely Lipstick, I love doing the small amount on the sides with just a bit on the design to bring it all together.    I added the Whisper White twine just for a bit more texture and softness.
To get that very light look for the sky, I used a very large round brush, lightly brush it twice over the top of the ink pad, do a quick brush on paper to avoid dark blotches and then lightly start brushing across the area to be colored.  It take several times to get the look you want, but is very worth while taking your time with that part.

I hope you enjoy, thanks for stopping. If you have questions, please ask in comments, I'll answer there as well as soon as I get the comment.

You are the best, Festive-Friday#0029

Now that I have finished my grandson's wedding invitations, I can get back to making cards.  So, today I did one up for the Festive Friday challenge.  It's spring over there.

Even here in AZ it has been a colder then normal winter, it warmed up for a few days but now it's cold again.  Rumor has it that starting on friday, we will be starting to warm again.  Not that I'm anxious, I really would like to hold off summer.  That 5 months of 100+ temps.

The set is in the 2019 Occasions catalog, it's just gorgeous.   It's called Wonderful Romance, this DSP piece is vellum printed. I've backed it with white though so it can be seen better. I also stamped a couple more extra leaves from vellum and added for extra effect.

Sure looks like spring to me! If you are so inclined, the hosts over at Festive Friday give out points for prizes, come on over and play with us.

Birthday Wishes, fms#377

I've had this pretty set for awhile and just hadn't used it. I've admired it from time to time, but it just didn't seem to fit what I wanted to do.  It's gorgeous, and this slice of cake was not difficult to fussy cut at all.

Today I am playing along with Freshly Made Sketches, you can find the challenge here.

I used Coastal Cabana, Flirty Flamingo and Early Espresso for my colors along with Whisper white.
I cut the large doily from the Doily Builder dies, out of plain printer paper, (masking paper can be used), I used a large round brush to brush color from the ink pad, over the die cut paper to transfer the design.
I then stamped my cake image using the Espresso ink and coloring in with colored pencils. I fussy cut it out and added it using dimentionals.   I then stamped some of the smaller flowers and colored and added some tiny pearls.
The stamp positioner made it easy to stamp my birthday banner, and then I glued my pieces down.
My card base is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2, cut long wise so it folds at the top.
Coastal Cabana piece is 4 1/8 x 5 3/8, then my top white layer is   4x 5 1/4.

I hope you enjoy, thanks for stopping.
