Snowflake Sentiments, FMS303, Christmas card

Play along with Freshly Made sketches this week.  I just got my Snowflake Sentiments bundle and couldn't wait to play with it!  So many more ideas in my head for this bundle! I just love using metallics, but wow are they hard to photograph. Some people seem to have it down, but I sure don't. I tried some new lighting this time and I think it helped some but not enough. I shall keep trying. It's a gorgeous card in person.

Here is the sketch for this week, and click here to go to FMS and see what everyone else has done.

My colors today are Whisper White and Eggplant Envy. Otherwise I used Silver Glimmer paper, Silver foil paper and Silver Embossing powder.
I applied a piece of Adhisive sheet to the back side of a 6x6" piece of glimmer paper, then cut 1/8" strips from it. Instead of cutting the strips the right length, I waited until after I had applied them to the card front, then trimmed to fit and kept the left over pieces for?

I stamped and embossed my sentiment, and cut a full length of the snowflake die then cut one separate to use on the card. Added some Rhinestones and done!  The pieces of strip that overlap each other want to come loose at that point, but they won't come off, it's just that nothing sticks to the front sided of the glimmer paper, so just know that. You could use just the foil CS and it would be really pretty that way too.
Try this on Night of navy too, or maybe a lighter blue.

Fun Fall card for GDP102, Count Your Blessings

I thought about doing Christmas for this weeks GDP challenge, but I just am not in the mood to go full on Christmas just yet.  Pretty soon though, and of course I've gotten some sets and done a couple or so already, but it's over 100 here in AZ still so I'm really in the mood for fall, might take another month, but a girl can dream, right?

I had a strip with 3 of these embossed, watercolored leaves  from a previous class project, so I decided to make use of it and cut one out with my Stitched Shape Dies.  The 2" punch was the perfect size to put a small bit of  Soft Suede around it.

I love the sentiment, and the font is darling!  I've been waiting to use it on something. It comes from the Count My Blessings set.
I also splattered my white CS before putting anything else on it.  The little cut out leaf is from the same set, Colorful Seasons, but from the matching die cuts, Seasonal Layers Thinlit Dies.  It's a fabulous set that will take you all through the year.

Go here to see what everyone made, and maybe enter the challenge yourself.

Happy Birthday card, Just Add Ink #374

Won't be long now until the new Holiday catalog will be live!  I know you will love it, have you seen all the sneak peeks?   But for today I have a set from the annual catalog. It's a host set called Background Bits and I fell in love with it my first order. But I really haven't used it much.

This week the JAI team is doing an inspiration photo:  Stop on over and check it out.

What I took away was a lot of browns and white.  So, I used Kraft paper and StazOn white ink.  SU has white ink as well, however, it's a pigment ink, and works well for embossing, and can be used by itself if you want a more muted white, but I wanted  a darker white, but not embossed necessarily. Although  that would work just fine for this.

The sentiment shape is a new punch and and sentiment is in the matching stamp set.  To get the white shape to match I cut 2 out of white and layered them under my kraft one.  I piece of burlap ribbon finished it off.

Basket of Wishes Thank You, FMS302

Playing along with Freshly Made Sketches this week.  My card is a combo of Basket of Wishes and the Pick a Pumpkin bundle.  It's a smaller bundle, but has so much you can do with it.  Lots of pumpkins and matching dies.  No dies with Basket of Wishes, but I fussy cut my basket out for this challenge.

I used my Aqua Painter and a bit of color from my ink pads to color in my basket, I had stamped it in Crumb Cake.

Here is a LINK to the site
please check out the team's projects, they are gorgeous, and lots of inspiration given.

I've never been much for fall stamp sets, but with all the beautiful sets SU is putting out for us, I have caved. I have one more on my list and as you see I already have these 2.

I hope you get a bit of inspiration from my card, below please for the list of products used here.  Colors are: Espresso, Pumpkin Pie, Emerald Envy, Crumb cake and Whisper White.

Sneak Peek, Santa Paws, 2017 Holiday catty, PP358

Yes, my first order went for lots of fun images that need to be colored. I'm ok with coloring, however my reasoning is just that I love the fun images so very much!  How can one not like Santa Paws?
This is the larges of the images in the stamp set, but especially if you love dogs and cats like I do, and they are so daggon cute, what's a person to do?

I have to admit, my photo taking didn't show the best part, the gold embossing, it is just hard to make embossing shine in photos.  The pretty gold star also isn't showing well.  But I think I have an idea to improve the lighting so hopefully soon I'll be able to show those aspects better.

Love, love, love the Merry Music DSP, both white and black in the holiday songs plus some neat designs on the back sides.
If you love these stamps, but you really don't like to color, you could just emboss in gold or? and dress up the card in other ways.  They would still be cute.
My colors for this:  Real red, Peekaboo Peach, Tranquil Tide, Smoky Slate, Crumb Cake.
I gold embossed, then used my blender pen and ink pads to color in the images.

I'm playing with the Paper Players this week. Here is the challenge and link for the site. I know you will want to check on everyone else's cards, the team's card are fantastic.

Thanks for coming by to look. so, what are your thoughts on this stamp set?

Sneak peek SU Holiday catalog, JAI#373

This is one of the more minor sets in the new Holiday catalog, but when you start playing you find out just how much fun it can be.  Lots of dies in the thinlits set and that's always a big bonus.

This weeks challenge is:

Stencils are hot right now, if you haven't tried them out, you really should. They are inexpensive and a big wow.    I've left the sentiment off for now, as I am always seeming to find myself in a place where I need something and by golly, I haven't any with a sentiment that will work.  Fall sets can be used for so many different occasions.

Colors for this card are:  Lemon Lime Twist, Peekaboo Peach, Tranquil Tide and Pumpkin Pie.
