Miss you SU greeting card, JAI#415

An inspiration challenge this week at Just Add Ink.    This idea, a smaller piece that looks like it is cropped out of a larger picture, is very much in right now.  It's popular because it's so pretty and at the same time clean looking.  You can cut a hole in the top layer  so that your scene is inside and even make a shaker card out of this idea.  I simply layered mine today.

I did the scene on a large piece then moved my circle around to where it looked good.  I love the tiny butterflies and bird in this set, and the tiny flowers that you see in pink at the bottom. Those thing just add so much.

Here is the challenge, and the link to the site in case you want to see all the projects.

Now, my colors this time are:  Blushing Bride, Tranquil Tide, Lemon Lime Twist, and Whisper White.
Besides using the stamp set Enjoy Life, I used several die sets and the Subtles embossing folder. Here is a look at what the folder looks like, it's hard to make it show up on the card.

If you haven't seen it before here, I used this folder before and even once colored it first, totally different look! It looks great in person and just adds that little bit of something.
The sentiment was made using a die from the Bunch Of Banners die set, it creates 2 shapes, you can keep them together, just use the outside or inside, or do what I did here cutting it twice and putting the 2 colors together.

We have a great sale happening in July at Stampin Up, a large number of the Designer Series Paper is on sale, buy 3, get one free.  You can get as many as you want.

In addition, if you join us as a demo in July, you can get a whole color family free with your kit, you get to choose, subtles, neutrals, royals or brights.  That's 10 ink pads all in the new cases.

I have one other thing I'd like to mention right now.  I've been getting little orders from someone, who is selecting NO CONTACT when they order.  What that actually means is that we have no idea who you are, we can't email you or send you a pretty card thanking you for your order, or offer you a new catalog.   None of us is going to pester you, but we would like to be able to help you out. So please think about it before selecting the no contact option, it's easy to overlook.

Bless your heart, Freshly Made Sketches #343, Stampin Up

What a fun card this one turned out to be. In fact, it was so much fun, I kept thinking of other ways to do it.  So, I just may do another using those ideas.  The side edge is so neat, it's from a new set of 3 edgelets, I used another one of them Here.   They are in the back of the new catalog, there is no stamp set that comes with it, so it's in the die cut pages.

Here is the sketch challenge I made this card for:

My colors for this card are: Whisper White, Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana, So Saffron and Smoky Slate. But the sky is the limit for this idea.  How about purple?  Yum.

The 1/4" Organza ribbon is retired! So sorry, but I didn't have a replacment just yet.  But we do have one in a narrow width that comes in several colors including white.  It is the 1/8"sheer ribbon 144172, it also comes in Calypso Coral, Fresh Fig and Old Olive.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope I've given you some inspiration today.

You are the best, Just Add Ink #414

Yes, another Sea Of Textures card, it's just that I love the ocean and this set is just so much fun to play with and yeah, blue is kinda my favorite color. So, todays card challenge is to make a frame, so he is looking through a port hole.

My colors for this are:  Balmy Blue, Smoky Slate, Lemon Lime Twist and Night of Navy.  I also added just a touch of brusho, it doesn't show much but it's what makes the underwater stripe effect and the bit of darker color .

Thanks For stopping by.

Lace Edgelits, gdp#143. Thank you card

I love edgelits, doilies and such, so the new Delicate Lace Edgelits dies were on my list from day 1.
There are 3 different edgelits and as you can see they really do not have to go on the edge of the paper!

It's been a really long time since I've done a black card, but I never just do black and white, I am way to much into color, I love that pop of color, today I used 2 colors along with the black and I love it.

I used a piece of DSP from the new Tropical Escape DSP pack and just cut a small piece of it, layering it over the edge of my die. Then I added a stamped and cut out flower and the detailed leaf from Falling Flowers and May Flowers.  A tiny Thank you in silver embossing is so pretty.  And I finished it off with some of the silver Metallic Pearls!

We are playing along with GDP this week, so go here to check out the challenge.
My colors for this card are: Basic Black, Smoky Slate and Blushing Bride.

How gorgeous is the Subtles embossing folder

If you've seen the new catalog, you know there is an embossing folder called Subtle.  It's impossible to see what it looks like, so having just gotten mine, I set out to see what I could do about that.
One of my favorite things to do with my embossing folders is use my hard rubber brayer over an ink pad and then onto my folder.

You can pick a side or just do both and see which one you like better.  This is the folder using the Highland Heather ink.   It reminds me of those glass shower doors that have what the companies seem to call rain.  I really like this.   I'll be doing lots more playing with this idea.  For instance, what would it look like if I put the darker Purple, Gorgeous Grape over the lighter CS.  Hmmmmmmm.

The aqua is Costal Cabana, a returning color, we had it before as an incolor.  White and Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape and I used the Falling Fowers and May Flower Framelits for my ovals and of course Basic pearls.
