Stampin Up and Pals Paper Arts 250

It's thursday and time for another PPA challenge, this one is a color challenge.

Very much hoping we are not going to have to say good buy to this butterfly stamp and die set! It's wonderful and very popular.
Grunge cards are so easy to make and are just plain fun. They are really good for masculine cards, although I did make this a bit more feminine.
So, my wall of DVD holder is pretty bare after taking down all the retiring stamp sets, but I am so anxious to see what is all new in the catalog.

My customers will be getting their catalogs on stamp club day in May and now they are excited.
Do you have a demo? Do workshops or classes?  If not you might want to find one, it's a lot of fun. My ladies have so much fun at class.

Stampin Up and my Least used color

My upline challenged us to post something made using our least used color. Orange is not only my least used, but my least favorite color.  I am very much a pastel kinda gal, but I do try to use them all. This one is one of the new incolors. Tangerine Tango. For not liking orange, I am really liking how this turned out.  That is the thing about challenging yourself, you just never know what might come of it.
The green is Old Olive, it's been around SU as long as I can remember. The paper is a from the Adventure Bound DSP paper stack in the Occasions catalog.   It's still good until the 2nd of June. Some really nice patterns and some very masculine papers. Something we all need from time to time.

Thank for looking!

Stampin Up, Paper Players 242

I'm having fun with the Paper Players. We have a sketch challenge this week.   I'm also saying goodbye to this darling set called Four Frames. It's been in the catalog so long, it's an all wood set and
honestly you don't see us Demo's using some of these older ones very often because of all the new product coming at us.  We kind of forget about these. I am really sorry to see it go, and it matches up with the Decorative label punch.
In my most humble opinion, this DSP was some of the most gorgeous SU has ever given us, it's in the Occasions catalog with retires on June 2, so if you like it too, get it ASAP.

I hope you enjoy, below, find the Paper Players sketch and the listing of product used here. Click on any product to be taken to my SU site and you can poke around, order product or just check it all out.

Stampin Up, Saying Good bye

Noooooo, not me, I'm not leaving. LOL.  But we are coming to the close to another SU catalog year. And it is one of those years where we loose a LOT of product. So, I'm here to say good bye to most of the product I have used on this card.  DSP usually all retires so we expect that. But well over 100 stamp sets and a whole bunch of Die cut sets and punches!

I'll have links to my store where you can find the retired list at the bottom of my post. Just click on any of the images, if there is something you want, best to order it now, if it's even still there.  Stamp sets may be ok, SU makes their own and will do their best to keep up with demand, but there is only so much of everything else.

Having said that, it's an exciting time.  The new catalog should have some fabulous new stuff.

The sentiment stamp set is about the only thing besides the little banner punch on here that is staying. Black and Basic gray ink is leaving for now.  I believe they are reformulating them so they work better.
So, have a great day, and I hope you enjoy my tribute to retiring product, BTW, I'm keeping this stamp set, I love it, and it's staying in my stash.

Stampin Up, Paper Players Challenge #241

Happy sunday to you!  I have decided to do something different this week, and I may do it more often. I'm posting a Paper Players challenge, which starts on sundays.  I may still do Mojo Monday, but mondays have tended to get busy and I find myself not getting to it for a day or two or never. LOL

The Paper Players challenge is for a Watercolor card! Ya know, I had actually decided to do this before I saw that, and how could I not when I saw the challenge?  I think if I didn't live quite so far in the boonies I would look for an art class, I sure could use some fine tuning and a few other things too.

It's hard to see them all, but there were several colors used. Baked Brown Sugar, Pool Party, Always Artichoke, So Saffron, and Pear Pizzazz.
Anyone else really into watercolor?   There are tons of neat tuts on You tube, so come join in.

Yup, except for the ink, just the one stamp set. Oh, and don't forget the Aqua Pen like I did just now.

Stampin Up, Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge #248, Watercolor play

So here we are at yet another PPA challenge.   This week we have a sketch challenge and it's a great one. I love then they are very simple, allowing for your mind to wonder and create.  If you visit here
often, you will know that I'm working hard to get some watercolor techniques down.

So this is my try for this week.  I inked up my stamp with Melon Mambo and then spritzed water on it and stamped it on watercolor paper.   I did a couple more spritzes on the paper to allow the color to spread.  I'd really like to hear what you think if you wouldn't mind leaving me a comment.

I used soft sky and an aqua painter to spread some sky around.   I sure hope you enjoy.

Stampin Up, PPA challenge post for a friend

One of the very talented ladies in my SU group is having issues with posting right now, so I am posting this on my blog for her, that way we can add it to the challenge site.
Before I do that, here is her site, we hope to get her squared away and back to using it soon.
Frenchie Hum

So, I have my very first guest post! How about that? I hope you enjoy her work.

Stampin Up and Pals Paper Arts color challenge 247

Hello, it's that time of the week, we have a PPA color challenge.  This one was for sure a challenge with all those purples. Not that I don't like them, I love them, but 3 of them at the same time did present a challenge, but I think this worked!
This stamps set for the washi tape look is called Tape it. It has several sizes and patterns in the set.  I almost tied a ribbon around the Whisper White piece, but decided against it. Not sure I shouldn't have tho, but that is an idea for you too.

Come, play with us, it's a lot of fun and really stretches your skills.
I hope your weather is as beautiful as mine is today. Here in Northern AZ it's 70's with a blue sky. It will be heating up soon, but for now, it's open windows and fresh air.  The kitties love that too.

Here is our colors for this week.

FREE SHIPPING, and Mojo Monday 392

Ok, first let us cover this free shipping thing.  Stampin Up has free shipping from Apr 6 through the 10th.  That's it! So hurry and place an order, what a nice savings.

Todays card was made for my youngest grandson's birthday.  He is so into green, I thought about going all green, but yuck! I am not a green lover, LOL, not really much on monotone cards either.

I love color, I'm all about the color, and I seldom have an occasion when I don't use pretty colors.

Today I used our new incolor Mossy Meadow along with Crisp Cantaloupe and Whisper White.
He will be 16 and is a boy so I kept it pretty simple.  All 3 of my daughters had a child within a one year period, and this one is the last to be born and the last of the 3 to turn 16.  No more little ones for me. :(.   No one to color eggs with. Now that is just plain sad. LOL.   I always loved doing that.

You will notice that although I used the 2" circle punch, instead of using the 2 1/2" circle punch for the color under the sentiment circle ( you sure can do that if you like) I wanted a smaller spacing so I used one of the circle framelits.

I hope you enjoy.  click on any image below to be taken to my store.
