My idea of fall. Paper players #407

So, my Flirty Flamingo card base looks pretty dark, but I did adjust the color up some so the card looked as vibrant online as it did in person.   It's been many, many years since I've lived anywhere there was a true fall.  Ca does ok, but midwest and east coast fall is so much prettier.
Before I continue, here is the challenge, come see all the cards.

I decided to just choose colors I like and not worry about reality, LOL.  And I love how it came out.
Very simple to do.  Simply take a piece of Watercolor paper, I used a couple small left over pieces for mine.   I spritzed them with water, (both sides, it help keep it from curling), then used my Aqua brush to pick up color from my ink pads and brush onto my watercolor paper in a random manor.  If a color is too dark or dry, just spritz again.  for this, I made small areas. After drying, I put my leaf die where there was more then one color and cut.  I left the die pieces in, just kind of like that look. But you can take them out.

If you look close you can see the texture from the embossing folder on the white strips.
This was the most fun I've had in a while, just playing with the colors for the leaves was a ball.

My colors are: Whisper White, Flirty Flamingo, Coastal Cabana, Mango Melody, Highland Heather and Soft Suede for the sentiment.

If you have questions, I'd love to answer them, however blogger doesn't allow us your information so we can.  Just ask, and I can answer in the comments section.

I hope you enjoy and I have inspired you a bit.

Christmas is coming, Festive Friday #0015

This happens to me every year, I just can't seem to help myself. When the holiday catalog comes out, I just have to do Christmas cards!  And Dashing deer calls to me, honest, I can hear it! Play with me, it says. So, it's not my fault.

I can't decide if the die cut running deer ro this guy with his pattern body is my favorite.  But I do know I LOVE those antlers.   I couldn't find anyplace I wanted to stick a sentiment on the front, so it's all inside on this one.

Playing along with Festive Friday, get points for playing and use them to get free stuff.
So, my colors are: Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Shaded Spruce and Merry Merlot.

Check it out here.

Thanks for coming by, hope you got a bit of inspiration.

Beautiful Blizzard, Christmas Card, Freshly Made Sketches #351

A simple, clean card for today.  I had not tried out my new embossing mat set for the Big Shot. This bundle has a big one piece die that cuts out a bunch of different sized snowflakes.   OR, With this embossing set you can emboss the die. I did both.

I'm kinda a big color person.  I almost went with a new blue, but decided to try Smoky Slate and I really like it.  I added some color with my small strip of DSP.  The bigger snowflake has 2 put together.  I really like it, but what do you think?
Here is the challenge, click on the link to check it out.

2018 Holiday card, gdp#152

I think I put some items from 3 different sets together to get this.  2 of them were dies.  I'm not sure I did the GDP challenge justice, but here it is.  It just grew as I went along.

The idea is to CASe the designer, meaning take something away from the project and make it your own. You can take the color, or something that was used or just the basic design.

I used a brand new Christmas DSP set, that isn't in the catalog, it will go live in Sept along with the catalog however.  It will be given free with a $250 order. That can be a host order or your own personal order, or you can just go get orders from friends or at work and get this along with the usual host gifts.

I cut the DSP  from the sheet that sits under the card, I also cut a second piece in white and layered them together to give it some hight and make it sturdier.   I used the inside round piece that got cut in the hole, then put my sentiment on the white piece and cut it to fit.
I layered that onto my white layer then cut the corners with the Detailed Treo punch.

I stamped my little pointsettias in Merry Merlot, then colored in using the Cherry Cobbler ink pad and my blender pen.   I cut a few pieces from the Pretty Pines Thinlits (in the Annual catalog) and tucked them in.    I added just 3 of the tiny silver pearls and I used a bit of the Frost White Fantastix Frost white and my aqua pen. Still went on a bit thick, a small amount goes a long way.

I do hope you enjoyed and I have given you some inspiration.

Sneak peek at SU 2018 Holiday catalog, #fms350, Christmas card

Once I start getting my new Holiday catalog order I just can't help myself, I have to use them.  This set is called Beautiful Baubles.   I used one of the dies to both cut and emboss onto the center top of the card, but it has an outside cut edge you can add when you run it through so that it cuts as a separate piece.  A 2 fer.

The sketch I'm using is from this weeks Freshly Made Sketches challenge.
I only used 2 colors, the Whisper white and Gorgeous Grape.  It's a pretty easy card, white card base, Grape piece just a bit smaller, then the white top piece.  I cut /embossed the die, layered it down with dimentials, then put the white piece back in the middle and cut my ornament out.
I wanted the ornament to pop a bit, so while  normally I might use the Multi purpose liner sheets, I decided this time to use a similiar product in foam.

Then I just added my ribbon and sentiment.  And those pretty Glitter enamel dots.
The ribbon and glitter dots are available now, the rest is in the Holiday catalog that goes live on the 3rd of Sept.

So Many Smiles, #jai421

A simple little card today for Just add ink # 421.  My colors are: Shaded Spruce, Soft Sea Foam and Flirty Flamingo.   Sorry to say the ribbon is retired.  I'm working on getting ribbon, but it's slow. Anyone have a few hundred to loan me? LOL.

With the pretty DSP, you don't need anything fancy going on, it speaks for itself.   I personally love really soft colors in our paper, and this is one of them, Soft Sea Foam.    It's hard to tell, but the background of the DSP is also Soft Sea Foam.

I'm playing along today with JAI#421.  Check out the rest of the projects.

I hope you enjoyed.

Sneak Peek, Stampin Up, 2018 Holiday Catalog. #TGIF172

I can't help myself, I just had to at least one more card with this new set, Dashing Deer.  I'm in love.
I found the perfect challenge to use for this. Click here to check out the challenge.

This also features the new Corrigated embossing folder, and the Joyous Noel DSP.  So many pretty patterns I had a very hard time choosing.

The new catalog goes live Sept 3rd I believe.   Then you can all purchase these goodies.   Dashing Deer comes bundled with Detailed Deer Thinlits.
I used the brand new Merry Merlot ink and paper here.  I just knew it was going to be great for Christmas.  Plus Whisper White, Crumb cake and Soft Suede.
I hope you enjoyed and got some inspiration.

Festive Friday #0014, Sneak Peek SU holiday catalog 2018

Did someone say Rhinestones?    I do love rhinestones!  I got my first pre order from the new Holiday catalog on tue, but due to hubby having had a heart attack this is my first play with all my new goodies.  (Yes, he is fine, he had 2 stents put in and is home).

I copied this from the catalog, I think it's the most gorgeous card ever.  I made a few changes, but not too much.  The one in the catalog is done in Gold and it's stunning! But I do like to do my own thing, so thought I'd at least try to make it a little different.   There are still a couple other differences, but you'll probably have to look hard to find them.

TIP:  Did you know you can emboss in any color you have ink for?  With the new stamp positioners, this is super easy.  Simply stamp first using your Versamark pad, then with your color pad, and put your clear embossing powder on.   Heat and it's done.   I did it here in Real red.

The red rhinestones  are so pretty, and it fits in with the Festive Friday theme.
Check it out here.

I have been waiting a long time for a set like Dashing Deer to come out now that we have all the great dies, so it was a first get and a must have item.  And, I'm keeping it forever. LOL.

Simple colors today, Real red and Whisper White, the new Swirls and Curls embossing folder, Versa mark ink pad, clear and red rhinestones and of course the Dashing Deer Bundle.

I hope I've given you some inspiration, well, me and the catalog.  Thanks for stopping by, and come on over and join in the challenge.

Stampin Up, Paper Players #404, Funny birthday card

Paper Players this week wanted a funny card.  How many of you have stamps to do that?  Most of us don't have many if any.  I had to dig into my non SU stash.   The die is an old one that has retired. But I love all those old dies, especially the framelits like this.  I always have a size I need.
It's not fancy, but I think it suites the funny theme, that's why I  bought it.

Here is the challenge:

I used  my Blends alcohol marker to color this in.   There are a lot of colors here, Pink Bermuda Bay, Crumb Cake, daffodil delight, gray and for the skin tone I used Powder Pink.   I used the ink pad and aqua pen for that part, put a little ink into the lid and then pulled a bit out using a good amount of water to bring the brightness down.   It works pretty good.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed.
