Thinking of You, FMS#344

Look at that, I did a card without a single stamp! I didn't start out to do that, it just happened, that is the way it can go with some of the incredible dies and dsp out there.
First, here is the challenge:  Go here to see the rest of the projects.

Yes, they did a square card. I rarely do them, as I find I don't get them sent. I really prefer just the normal 1/2 sheet cards.

I put it all together using the So Saffron layer then put all that onto my card base.  The sentiment isn't SU, not sure where I got it, as I have it on a magnetic sheet in my Not SU box.  I have 3 photo boxes for dies now, current dies, retired dies, and dies from other companies. Not many in there.  I also keep my embossing folders in a photo box, separated by 6x6 piece of chipboard, into current and retired.
Anyway, my colors are: Blackberry Bliss, So Saffron, Whisper White and Mint Macaron.

The DSP is in the Nature's Poem set. And a REMINDER.   That one and several others are on sale all month this month, July 2018, buy 3 get one free.   I think they are all the $11 DSP except the color family sets.  The speciality ones are not on sale.

The white design piece on top of my DSP is from the gorgeous Delightfully Detailed Lasor cut DSP set.  There are some border pieces on the bottom of 4 of the sheets.

I used our Mulitpurpose sheets to add glue on the back of the die cut letters, it seems to help them cut better and they come right off and stick down beautifully.   I added the rhinestones for a bit of bling as it was a pretty simple card.
I hope you enjoyed.  Please be aware, Blogger no longer sends me email when I get comments, so if you have a question I do try to check on a reg basis and will answer in the comments section or you can email me.  Or you can find me in the demonstrator finder on the SU site.

Thinking Of You, Global Design Project #127

I've never been an orange person.  Pastels are more to my liking.  But I find myself using Calypso Coral quite a bit. It's in a lot of our DSP right now, but also, it's got a good bit of pink in it with I find pleasing.
I'm playing along with GDP this week.  They are focasing on the SAB catalog for this challenge.

So, I'm using my favorite image in that little salebration catalog. I know you have probably seen this plenty, everyone seems to like it and it's been done all kinds of ways, including by me.
Doing it up like this makes for a very pretty and very quick card.    I picked this color because of the DSP I used  behind the main image, it's from the Petal Garden 6" DSP Stack. If you want something softer, you could use the Sweet Sugarplum piece that has the same design or you could use the darker Rich Razzleberry ink for a darker image in the same color.  Either would work well, it also come in other colors in the DSP.

I used a 4 1/4"x 5 1/2 " card base then cut my image piece square at 4 1/4"x4 1/4".  I cut the DSP at 4 1/4"x4 5/8" so it comes out just a bit beyond the images on the sides. I wrapped the 1/4" Organza ribbon and made my bow.     The sentiment is copper embossing.

BTW, Stampin Up is having a little Paper Pumpkin celebration.  If you sign up for PP by the 10th of March, you will get a special kit with a special surprise.   I'd love to tell you want that is, but they don't tell us either. LOL.

Butterfly Thinking of you card. GDP073

The GDP challenge for this week is a color challenge.  Pretty springy colors, bet you are all ready for spring, I know I am.  Also, I see that Bibi Cameron is leaving the team for now at least.   It's a fantastic team, but Bibi will be missed.

But they do have 2 team member who made the Stampin Up Artisian team list this year. Wow, 2  from the same challenge.  Paula Dobson and Louise Sharp, be sure to check out their cards and maybe congratulate them.

I have used 2 new products on this card. The yellow border is from Delicate Details in the SAB brochure. That is a free set you can choose with a $50 or larger order from any current catalog. I'm seeing so many adorable cards made using that set.

the ribbon is one of a set of 2, one silver and one gold metallic ribbon in the set, also a choice for free in the SAB brochure.  It's gorgeous ribbon!  I love when SU gives us 2 or 3 different ribbon colors in one set.

So, here are the colors for this week:
I hadn't used my butterflies in a while and they are so pretty with the leaves from the Florish Thinlits.

Thinking of you

This card went out to friends who are going though some very bad stuff. Sometimes it's all you can do is let those people close to you that you are thinking of them and care.

I used the Wetlands stamp set.  I made my water using the Aqua brush on watercolor paper, picking up color from the ink pad.  Marina Mist in this case.

I used Crumb cake for my brush at the side and to sponge color on included the edges of the watercolor paper.   I know it's not everyone's thing, but I really enjoy doing cards like this.

We have had an unusual stretch of cold here in AZ, still pretty chilly at night, but it seems to be getting warmer during the day.   I am in hopes that our normal couple of weeks of gorgeous, warm weather in Feb will be starting soon.   Then we have very cold harsh winds possible through March and april.    But I am in no hurry to get on to summer.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
