Counting my Blessings, Festive Friday challenge #ff0002

When I bought this set, it was because I thought it really was cute, but I wasn't sure just how much I could do with it. Ends up being quite a lot.   I just used one of the small images, a swirly leaf one, and the large sentiment from the set for this.

I made this for the new Festive Friday Challenge, this is just number 2 or #ff0002.

So, hmmmm, Employee appreciation or Ribbon or both, hmmmm.  I thought it would be fun to do both, but being as the only employees I have are my kitties and don't do a lick of work.  (I made a pun).  That didn't seem to be an answer, but I did consider doing that.

So, ribbon it is.  And I LOVE this Crinkled Night of Navy ribbon. It's very soft and easy to work with.

My card base is Pink Pirouette, then a layer of Night of Navy, then Watercolor paper with my background design.  I used my White ink, I like using white often if I'm embossing in white as I feel like I get a better white and I can see it while I'm stamping a bit.   I embossed the white images on the background using white embossing powder, then watercolored over the top.
To accomplish that I just used my ink pad and Aqua Painter.   First, I sprayed my piece of watercolor paper back and front lightly, the opened my ink pad just a bit, squeezing it against the top and pad to get some ink on the top.  Using my Aqua painter, I picked up ink blending it where I wanted it on the paper over top of the embossing.

Then I stamped my sentiment, and it helps a lot to use your stamp positioner for this when using watercolor paper. It has a texture so that often it will need 2 or 3 stampings.  I cut that out using my Layering Squares framelits and then cut a piece of the Pink a bit larger from the Stitched Shapes Framelits.     I colored the rhinestones using my Night of Navy (dk) Blends alcohol marker.  And added those to the bottom of my sentiment.

If you are new to embossing, remember to use a light source so you can see when the embossing starts to shine so you know when to stop heating. Otherwise you will just loose the embossing as it will sink into the paper.
