Stampin Up, Pals Paper Arts challenge #287

I got a little bit elegant today.  I love this background die. I don't use it real often, but everytime I do I love the results! You can cut it down for other ideas for use.

I have friends I don't get to see anymore since we moved to AZ after retiring and friends that have been online friends for many years, and this sentiment works for anytime I just want them to know I'm thinking about them.

The Botanical Blooms bundle is awesome for flowers and such.  So many stamps and dies in the set and some very different ones, even a feather. I put rhinestones in the centers for a bit of bling.

Our colors for this week are:

Come on over and check out the rest of the teams cards as well as those posted by others. And by all means, come and play with us.
Thanks for stopping by!

Stampin Up, and GDP 009

Today is a color challenge, using some of the new incolors for this year. Here are the colors for this week:

I used my Aqua Pens to watercolor in the image.  You can get a different look with them then you can with markers, so that and my Blender pens are my go to for coloring in.

The little bit of DSP showing at the bottom is from a 6x6" Paper Stack called Cherry on Top.

A pretty quick and simple card.  Come on over to Global Design Project and play with these awesome demo's.

Stampin Up, Pals Paper Arts Sketch challenge #269, Just because.

It looks simple now, but when I first looked at the sketch I was drawing a blank. Let me show you.
See?  Think about it, what would you do?  This was one of those tricky ones, it's looks hard, but it turned out so simple.   I am always so proud of myself when I am able to come up with a great card for a sketch or color set that I just draw a blank on at first.

I do love Black and White, especially with a pop of color. And I had this new Cotton paper made just to do flowers with. It's thin and easy to work with, but I only had one pack with some pretty bright colors.  So, Black and White was needed to calm things down some.

I just love the new rimmed pearls, they add such elegance, and made the perfect center.

Come on over and play with us, you really can sharpen your skills doing challenges.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Stampin Up, Pals Paper Arts Challenge #265

It's time for this weeks PPA challenge. This week is a sketch challenge.  If you are wanting to give challenges a try, this is a great week to start. The sketch is easy and adaptable.  Remember, the sketch is only a starting place, you can do it exactly, or you can bring your own ideas to it.

My very favorite color in the whole world is blue. And there isn't a prettier blue then Marina Mist.
Blue and browns are great colors for masculine cards too, if you took off the flower and replaced it, you could have a great guy card.

This is the first time I've used the Striped Scalloped Thinlit in tone on tone, I love the texture it gives the card.  I paired it with the Natural ribbon for an almost slightly rustic look.

Here is the sketch this week:

Stampin Up, Pals Paper Arts Challenge #256

It time for another Pals Paper Arts challenge, we post a new one every thursday, 4 weeks out of the month, there is none if there is a 5th week.

So, here is the sketch:
And you see what came out of my head!  I'm sorry, I'm not responsible for what my brain does. LOL

I used Blackberry Bliss, (just painted my front door that color, the Sherwin Williams place did a fab job of matching the color). So Saffron, my fav yellow, and Whisper White.

I used two different sentiments, one for the tone on tone base card and one for the sentiment across the candles.  And Many More and Crazy About You are what I reach for the most.

Hope you enjoy and get some ideas of your own.   Thank for stopping in.

Stampin Up, Mojo Monday 397 and Paper Players 244

I normally don't do one card for 2 challenges, but today was just too good to resist. Since I was busy yesterday and didn't do my Paper Players, and PP turned out to be a color challenge while Mojo Monday was a sketch challenge I just had to do it.
The PP colors are Lost Lagoon, Sahara Sand and Pistachio Pudding, I tossed in Whisper White.

Here is the sketch.
So you see, great colors, cute sketch, they just had to go together.
Today might be a bit confusing as I mixed colors and product that is retiring and some that is brand new. New product will be available for you to purchase June 2nd. That is also the date to order retiring product.

Pistachio Pudding is an incolor and is going out.  The dotted patterned paper is in a retiring 12x12 stack of DSP.  The gorgeous flower pattern paper is in the brand new revamp of the 121x12 DSP stacks. I love, love, love the new paper stacks, they used to be my go to, but wasn't as happy when they changed, but this change is awesome, super great patterns!  Personally, I'm going to try and get them all this year.

I hope you enjoy! Please feel free to come and play in either of these challenges, they really are  a lot of fun.

Stampin Up and my Least used color

My upline challenged us to post something made using our least used color. Orange is not only my least used, but my least favorite color.  I am very much a pastel kinda gal, but I do try to use them all. This one is one of the new incolors. Tangerine Tango. For not liking orange, I am really liking how this turned out.  That is the thing about challenging yourself, you just never know what might come of it.
The green is Old Olive, it's been around SU as long as I can remember. The paper is a from the Adventure Bound DSP paper stack in the Occasions catalog.   It's still good until the 2nd of June. Some really nice patterns and some very masculine papers. Something we all need from time to time.

Thank for looking!
