New kit, new layout

Rina over at SBE has a new kit out, and it's is just stunning and so much fun to work with. I have decided to use it to start a new book, one for a friend who's husband recently died. They were members of our FMCA chapter and I thought she might like some reminders of fun times.

It's called Cherished, and makes a great all around kit as well as Valentines day and spring.

Isn't it gorgeous?

So, here is my layout. The page style is a template from SBE's template challenge for Feb.

I won at Card Scraps

So, if you don't already know, besides machine embroidery and digi scraping, I also love to rubber stamp, mostly cards. For whatever reason I don't care for paper scraping, strange, right? Well, I do stamp cards tho, and I have gotten into making cards for the troops. That makes me feel like I am doing something to help someone at least. If you do hand made cards, be sure to google CARDS FOR THE TROOPS, get the short list of rules for them and place to send to. They are not cards for the troops, but rather cards the troops can send home.

Anyway, I got off subject, I entered a contest on the CardScraps blog and won a stamp set. Cool huh?

And here is my winning card.

I'm home and I have a treat for you

I have been gone for the past 6 weeks, so have not been able to post to my blog. But we had a great trip, since we moved last Feb we spent Christmas in Ca near our kids then traveled down the coast to the beach where we watched the surfers and even got a glimpse of dolphins on two days.
Down to the FMCA Indio rally, then Quartzsite for a few days for the big bus rally, before finally coming home.
I have a new free wallpaper for you for Feb, made using Amanda Thorderson's I Remember Love kit, which she has put on sale for the month for you. I hope you enjoy using it. As usual it's made in three sizes, one of which I hope will work fo
r you. Also, I have not put a calendar, you can do that by either participating in Amanda's Calendar Challenge at Digitals where she will give you a little free kit to do that with, or you can use the neat little program Rainlender. It's free and has a lot of neat features.

Well, I am into yet another new craft. I bought a Cricut Expression and both SCAL2 and MTC. And I am having a great time learning and playing.

I have a little banner I made that I hope you will enjoy. It's the word Joy with a santa hat and star. So, if you click on the preview it will take you to the download.

Time for your Christmas Wallpaper

It's almost December so I have your Christmas wallpaper for you. This time it's made from Amanda Thorderson's Christmas Rhapsody.
Amanda is not only a talented designer, but her kits are so usable. I didn't put a month or calendar on this one. It isn't hard to see what month it's for, LOL. And if you are here for the first time, I use Rainlender. It's a tiny program that won't mess with your computer, but it has the calendar and shows the what day it is at all times. It also has the ability to put in any events you want and you can even have an alarm.
So, here is your wallpaper, in three sizes as usual.Just click on the preview to download. Those are my very sweet youngest grandsons. Aren't they handsome? Of course they won't be on your calendar.

Also, SBE is having a sale and lots of fun during Dec. I hope you will join us.

New Freebie Oct wallpaper

Amanda has a new kit out, and I've used it for this months wallpaper. It's called Superstitions.

First tho, did I tell you all we are building a garage, not just a garage, but one that will have solar panels on the roof. No more electric bills! But I have company coming in on the 11th, then more joining us on the 18th and things are just not moving any where near as quickly as we had been led to belive they would. The guys have been here working hard all week, and at this point we expected it to be done, so the solar would go up next week, but it's not. It's not even ready for the roofing crew.

The problem is I have boxes I need to stash in there so I can get my guest room all done, and hubby has stuff all over the back patio that needs to go there for a work space instead of all over the back patio. It's getting tight time wise. I hope next time I post I can tell you all it's done!

So, now for the wallpaper, I sure hope you like it, as usual it's 3 sizes so should adapt to different monitors. And I did put the month, but I didn't add a calendar in. I use Rainlender, it's a very small program with an interactive calendar and several neat features I love.

But if you want to add on, go on over to Amandas calendar challenge at Digitals and with the free mini kit you get there will be a calendar.

So, here is the preview:

It has been too long

I got an admonishing email from a friend because I hadn't been posting my layouts on my blog. So I guess I had better get to.

While I am at it, I have some new stuff to talk about. I have added a baby Cricut to my toys. And I have purchased the Sure Cuts a Lot software. I wanted to be able to make all those cute shapes to use on my rubber stamped cards, and I just don't want to spend all the money on punches, and I don't have room for all of those. So, I am in process of making a bunch of shapes that I will post in .svg format for anyone who wants them when I'm done. The problem is I find that now I want the Expression as I'm finding all those cute boxes and bags that don't work on the Cricut because it will only do 6 x 12. There really is no end, is there? At any rate check back for that stuff too if you have an interest. Right now I'm working on finally getting all the boxes full of fabric and craft stuff out of what is to become the guest room, because I'm going to have a guest in Oct!

Ok, SBE is having the Brag book calendar challenge. Kim Hollibone is posting the cutest templates complete with 2011 calendars. You can do a lot or a little. I have already done most of my 4x6 family calendars with family photos that I give out to my girls at Christmas, but these I'm making using photos I've taken, places I've been. I'm going to give sets out to friends with a 4x6 lucite frame with a magnet on the back. I hope they enjoy them.

News and Free July Wallpaper

Here I am with your July wallpaper, just a couple days late. What can I saw, it's been busy.

First tho I have to tell you that Amanda is this months Designer of the month, her free daily download starts on the 5th. All I can tell you is that the kit is awesome!

You may want to join in the calendar challenge she has each month as well. You get a free mini kit to use, but she marks the full kit down very reasonable so you might want to buy that.

This month it's Patriotic of course, the Wallpaper was made using one of the 2 kits you can use in the challenge, From Sea to Shining Sea. Here is mine. I do fiddle with the calendar and make it a 2011 instead of the 2010. I make mine 4x6 and use family photos. Each of my kids has a pretty glass stand alone frame with metal corners that I bought them at Walmart. They all get a little bag with goodies in it for Christmas, mostly stuff I made and they really look forward to these calendars. It also serves to remind them to send grandma photos. LOL.

So, without further ado here is a preview of this months wallpaper. As usual it is in 3 sizes.

1680x1050, 1280x1024, 1024x768

Also I need to mention that SBE (Scrapbook Elements) is having a big 4th of July sale this weekend. You'll find lots of bargains from your favorite designers. And if you haven't shopped there, they have some awesome designers!

Layout share

This was done for a challenge at Scrapbookelements, I just love masks, they make layouts more fun and isn't that part of what it's about? Ok, there is that saving memories for our kids and their kids ect too. But it's nice to have fun doing it.

On a personal note, we have been really busy with the new place. There is so much to be done. Hubby is putting in a drip system so we can leave home on occasion and not have to worry the trees and roses will die. We are working on the coach trying to get it in better shape for our next trip, and the trim on the house is in very bad shape, so we are painting. Now painting in the desert is a whole different thing. Between the heat and the wind the paint dries before you can even get it on the house. LOL. So, we were up at 4am painting today. No wind as yet, and it cooled down quite nicely last night. But when the sun came up, so did the wind and inside we went. Hubby is also making sun screens for the house. So far he has put on 4 of them and they sure make a difference in the heat coming in.

For my part, I'm looking forward to getting enough boxes unpacked of my crafting items that I can get started on some quilting.

Happy crafting until next time.

Finally, a new wallpaper

I know it's late and I haven't done one in a couple months, but I had requests so here is June's wallpaper.

Be sure to check out Amanda's whole Citrus Crush kit. There are some extra pieces for free in her store for use in the calendar challenge.

We are still getting settled into our new home. Hubby keeps asking me if I'm done, LOL. I keep buying things. The latest and probably the last for quite a while is a set of cabinets. 2 base cabinets, one drawers, one a base with shelves and a tall pantry type cabinet. They go into my sewing room so I will have somewhere to put all my stuff. I know I've got more stuff they they will hold, but it'll help a lot. Also the base cabinets become my cutting table. Sink base cabinets work very well because not only do they have storage inside, but they are just the right height.

I'm working hard at my CT work at Scrapbook Elements as well. Check out the Challenge that Sheryl and I have up. Words From the Heart, we have made some really cute goodies as gifts for participating.

And check out the cute page I made for the BB
challenge at SBE. The template is done by Kim
Hollibone and the kit is just darling. It's Mandy King's I Am Forever Changed.

Click on the layout to be taken to the gallery at SBE and see it larger.

I guess I shall never get very good at posting here, but I think I'll try to post the monthly wallpapers again and some of the layouts I do with kits from the awesome designers at SBE and by Amanda at Digitals.

Here we are with March's freebie Wallpaper

Feb just flew by we were so busy. So, now we are in our new home in AZ and loving it. The boxes still are not all unpacked but there is plenty of time for that. We can see the sun coming up over the mountains from our front porch and see the sun set over the mountains from the back porch. We've had a couple bunny rabbits around in the yard the past few days, and the other day a Road runner ran across the street right in front of my car. The kitties are loving it. Unfortunatly one of my babies was just diagnosed with diabetes, so some changes are afoot. Who knew, even the best well known brand dry food is not good for them.

This month I used Amanda's The Front Porch for the March wallpaper. Click on the preview.

To see the full kit, click on the Digitals link and check out Amanda's store.

I hope you enjoy the wallpaper.

Feb 2010 wallpaper

And other stuff. Still getting ready to move, truck is mostly loaded so by my next months post, I should be in my new home.

For now, I have a feb wallpaper for you, it's a tiny bit late as I've been so busy with all the new house stuff and the packing ect, that time just got away from me. This month we are featuring Amanda's Remembering You kit. And it's quite the awesome kit.

I hope you like what I have created for you from it. As has been my habit lately I've done it in three sizes, so there should be one that will work for you.

Jan 2010 Wallpaper

I keep meaning to get here during the month and it just does not happen. It's been a crazy year. My hubby had a heart attack last summer and then a quad by pass, then pneumonia ect. then we ended up working on the house and now we seem to be buying a home in another state and moving soon. I hope after that things settle down some.

Ok, on to all things Digi. Amanda Thorderson at Digitals has a new kit out called Victorian Garden.

Just click on the link to Digitals on the side to check her store out.

Also, some of the digitals girls are having a Blog train, some great goodies for free if you hurry over. You can start at Amanda's blog and there will be a list to use from there.

SBE is having some great sales. It isn't often you get some of these ladies kits so cheap, so you might want to check that out.

Now, here is this months Wallpaper, I made it using Amanda's kit Snowbird.
As usual it comes in three sizes so you should find one that works for you.
Happy Digi scrapping.

Merry Christmas everyone. I keep vowing to post here lots more and give you guys more goodies but life keeps getting in the way. Right now we were gone for 2 weeks over Thanksgiving looking for a new home in another state. But back just in time to give you your dec wallpaper, and it's from Amanda's It's a Wrap kit, a fun combo of Peppermint candy, and bows and cute wrapped gifts.

But first, I want to tell you about the challenge at SBE. It's a card exchange challenge, but until Dec 5th we are making holiday cards to send to our troops, I know we would love it if lots of people joined in. You'll find it Here at SBE.

Here is a preview of mine.

Ok, now for the wallpaper, first take a look at Amanda's It's a Wrap kit. Click on the preview to go to her store. While there, take a look at the It's a Wrap recipe cards.

As I did last month, I put this wallpaper into 3 sizes, so you should be able to find a usable one for your monitor.

Get it here.

A new month, a new Freebie wallpaper

Amanda has out a new kit that is just too cute. This months wallpaper is made using that kit. You can get a mini matching kit at Digitals by signing up for the Nov calendar challenge, and her kit as always will be at a great sale price for now.

I keep meaning to post more and give out more goodies, but life has just been too busy. I am now on the CT at SBE which has kept me very busy and we have been painting inside the house and putting down new carpet. Sure looks nice and fresh and my rooms for sewing and computer are being redone.

You are just going to love this new kit, Harvest Blessings, check out the preview:

I have included 3 sizes this month as I got a new monitor and I know so many of us are getting nice big ones, the new size is 1680x1050, for the wide screen. One size is slightly different as it has a second background so it wasn't distorted. I just hate distorted images, don't you?

So, be sure to hop on over to Digitals and join in the calendar challenge, and don't forget to grab up Amanda's new kit.

Here is a preview of the kit.

And here is your Oct wallpaper. It is minus the calendar, some of us prefer not to have one, but if you visit Digitals the first of Oct you'll find Amanda's Calendar challenge and there will be that one you can add.

Sept wallpaper

Just a quick post with your link to the sept wallpaper. It's made using Amanda's Fall Into School kit. Click on pic to see kit in the store.

Here is the preview of the wallpaper. I didn't put a month on it this time or a calendar. You can get the calendar by going to Amanda's Calendar challenge at Digitalscrapbookpages on the 1st.

I'm thinking maybe next month I'll put the month title separate so you can have one if you like.

Have fun, hope you injoy the wallpaper.

Here is your new Freebie finally.

Sorry it has taken so long, I know I'm going to try once a week to put up a freebie, but it's just been wicked around here. Good news is that hubby is finally getting better. It took an all day visit at the ER to accomplish that, but it was worth it.

One reason I've been so slow is that I got a bunch of free books at Arts Cow, and thought I'd use them for my girls for Christmas as I already had a ton of layouts done from all the challenges at SBE and Digitals, but it still took a bit of time to put them all together after rounding them all up and then I still had a few to do on the fly, including the covers. I found a great way to do covers tho easily. I took a layout, and added in some torn, folded papers that looked good behind. Rina's Stacked papers work really well, if you haven't seen those you need to over at SBE.

Here is a really small preview of the alpha, hope you enjoy it.

Now, thought I'd show you what I meant for the cover, I'm loving this layout of my middle daughter and her family on the cruise.

Yes I know

I owe you guys a freebie, but things keep happening around here. I have one in process, just have to put the finishing touch on it.

Hubby, who finally seemed to be shaking off that bug that has kept him down for the past few weeks since the surgery, tried to get something accomplished and hurt himself in the process, so now he's in big time pain. Chiopractic didn't help, so I'm thinking maybe we should see about an xray.

Meanwhile, I'm working on books for my girls for Christmas. I got 8 Artcow books for just shipping so am busily finishing up the last of the layouts I need as I only have until the end of the month. I've been doing challenges and saving up all the layouts, and getting great challenge gifts for doing them and now I've got free books! Cool, huh?

Also, I issued a challenge to the Photoshopscrapbookers Yahoo group to scraplift one of the Lovely Miss Kaits layouts, and we've been having a great time doing that. If you don't know Kait, she works over at SBG and is the most amazing scrapper!

Here is mine, I used Amanda's From Sea to Shining Sea, it's way more whimical, Kaits was more realistic, but I like it.

So, check back in the next couple days and I'll try to have that freebie for you.

Challenges at Digitals

Amanda has two challenges at Digitals with beautiful mini kits for each, and the large kit of the same name is on sale. My favorite is the Calendar challenge, I do 4x6, (you can make any size you like), and I make them for 2010, at the end of the year all I have to do is print and give them to my girls for Christmas, they reuse a pretty glass frame with metal corners I purchased at Walmart. They can't wait each year to see what photos I use on them, and it's gotten them to send me more photos during the year, that's a good thing for a Scrappin Granny.
Anyway, Song of Hope is the kit for this month for the Calendar challenge and the mini is darling.
The Scrap Therapy challenge is using Finalmente, both kits are on sale in the store.
Forum links: Calendar challenge HERE .
Scrap Therapy HERE .
Click on the preview to be taken to the store.
Hurry tho, you'll want to get the whole kit, buy it before Amanda realizes how low she has priced it. LOL
Now that we have gotten the important stuff out of the way, I have to say, it's been another heck of a day.
Several weeks ago my hubby suffered a heart attach and then had a quad by pass operation.
He was doing pretty well early on, then he caught some virus and has not been able to shake it. We seem to spend a lot of time in Dr's offices and today, we headed for the Hosp for a CT scan and he ended up admitted to the ER and we spent 3 hrs there. This kind of thing is happening a lot, I know he will eventually be all right, but it's sure a long haul.
Ok, everyone, check back in a day or two and I'll have a pretty for you for free.
