Poinsettia Joy, The Paper Players#420

I'm a little out of my element with all the boxes required by this sketch, but here it is.  Colors simply are Lovely Lipstick and white with gold foil.  I think the glimmer holly is Mint Macaron.  It's from a pack from last year I think that I had never used.    The new pack this year of 6x6 glimmer paper in the Holiday catalog has a different, bit darker green in it.

The first layer is the Dashing Along DSP, it's a good one as it only as 3  different designs, 6 if you count both sides, and more multiplies then usual.

Then the Gold foil, lovely lipstick run through the Curls and swirls EF and applied over the gold, then the poinsettia cut in gold over the lovely lipstick.   The Joy is cut using the Petite Treat framelits die.

Tree in the Woods. Just Add Ink #435

So, here is your Just add ink challege for this week. Click here to see all the projects for this week.

Several ideas went through my head, there is so much you can do from this inspiration piece.  It's perfect for those Christmas cards.  But I decided on clean and simple.  I started by embossing my white layer with the Tufted embossing folder.
I  then used the stamped tree from Winter Woods.  I stamped it in Stampin Up Craft white and used white embossing powder.  You did know that this one is an embossing ink, right?  However, I also love using it on colors without embossing. It gets lighter as it dries and has a look all of it's own.  I especially love it on Crumb cake.

I cut my tree out using the die, and added it to the ovals, put some retired Night of Navy ribbon on then the sentiment and cut that out with a die from the Stitched Label die set.

Just a simple and clean Night of Navy and Whisper white.

Thinking of You card, #FF0021

Today I'm playing along with Festive friday.  3D or single layer card.

This came just as I needed to make a couple of quick cards for people in our FMCA chapter who were very ill.   I actually got this in the mail and that same day I got a call that the wife had passed, one month to the day of her diagnoses.   I'm really quite tired of loosing friends this way, but that is part of getting old.

I'm going to make this quick as 2 of my 3 fans in my computer are not working.  So, colors are, Whisper White, Flirty Flamingo, Old Olive and Soft Seafoam. I used my blends to do the coloring, so quick and easy.  I hope you will check out the challenge at the above link. Nice people and points to be earned for goodies.

Merry Christmas Tree, Just Add Ink #434

In the Woods set has what is probably the best Christmas style tree ever. And SU has a lot of trees.  Besides stamping like this you can use the die to cut one out with cuts for the branches to be more realistic.  I decorated my woodsy tree with tiny pearls.
I covered part of my Joyous Noel paper with vellum so it didn't fight with the pretty tree, but you can still see the beautiful paper.

Todays card is for Just Add Ink, see the challenge here.

My sentiment came from the Merry Christmas die set.  I used copper foil for the Christmas.
My colors today are, Tranquil Tide, Whisper white, and Merry Merlot.  I loved the pretty deep color in the red for this instead of a bright one.
Thanks for stopping by.

Christmas town, Freshly Made Sketches # 363

I guess I wondered off from the sketch a little bit here.   It's still there, just not quite the same.  I made my little street in town with glimmer paper and foil.  I love the look of the houses being lit. So I used gold foil to make it that way.   It was a bit harder then I thought. I cut out my street, then layered over the back a piece of the foil then cut around the houses.  You don't have to cut around the trees or snowman, but you could leave a little edge if you want, but it's not easy.  Pearls make my snow coming down.

Here is the sketch and the link to the challenge.

I used Balmy Blue, Night of Navy and a smidge of Whisper white.

Simple Joys, Christmas Card, GDP#164

Very simple card today, a little bit of work with the Big Shot though.  The inspiration for this is from a card made by Jan Brown, her's was all white and while it is stunning, I'm kinda all about color. When I do a white card, it always has a pop of color, and with this one, I got to wondering how it would look with this beautiful very soft green, Soft Sea Foam, I'm not a green person, but this is so soft and pretty, that I do love the color.

Here is the challenge.

White card base, cut your green a bit smaller then the card base, cut the leaves from both Pretty Pines thinlits and Detailed Poinsettia dies.  Cut the solid backing die out of Vellum from the Poinsettia, then cut the poinsettia out of white using both the detailed part of the die and the backing that is around the outside edge.  Glue together.  I put my dimentional in the center but left the paper on the one side so it could be positioned and then put it where I wanted it and laid down my greenery. I also used the big Cloud stamp from Snowflake Blizzard, stamped off on my paper then lightly on my card  a couple times. Then added in a few stampings of the dots stamp the same way, all for some added texture.   Take the paper off your poinsettia back and glue down, add a sentiment.    I used the Glitter Enamel Dots from the A/C catalog in yellow for my center.

Merry Christmas!

Fall leaves, Festive Friday #0020

I am needing a card to send our hosts after Thanksgiving.  They provide a week of dinners and visitors.  We so help out 2 or 3 times with something pot luck, but they do the most of the work and we have come to be friends with their friends and family who come.   RV's start arriving on tue and some don't leave until sunday.
It's too far for us to have dinner with our girls so this is huge for us.

I'm also submitting this to the Festive Friday challenge for this period.  Check it out here.
There are not many challenges out there were they have goodies to be given out.  They do it on a point system, you rack up points for posting and other stuff.
They also give you 2 different types of projects to choose from, and that makes it easier too.

I did use a lot of colors on this, just the ink pads along with my spritzer and Aqua Painter.  I took a large piece of Watercolor paper and just spritz both sides (that helps it lay flat) then brushed the aqua painter against the ink pad one at a time and brushed some onto the paper.  The smaller sections you do the more colors you can get when you cut your leaves.    It's a very simple and quite pretty way to do the leaves and sometimes other things.

Colors I used are: Calypso Coral, Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze, Mango Melody and Highland Heather.

Let the paper dry then lay your leaf  die over and move it around until you like what you see.

Merry Christmas, Freshly Made Sketches # 361

I did one of my favorite things and used my brayer to put Gorgeous Grape onto the embossing folder, (subtle) and ran my piece of Whisper white through.
Here is the challenge I used for this one.

I ended up combining the two strips for my card, and used a Real red and a piece of glimmer paper, added my red DSP, then stamped and added my graphic. I also cut snowflakes from Snowfall Dies and added them in both corners and used the new tiny Red rhinestones on them.
