Post Card Pals, Just Add Ink #428
I was totally take with this set first time I saw it, it just took awhile to order with all the new inks and stuff that I needed to get. I'm doing this for the JAI#428 challenge this week. It's a color challenge.
Fun, bright colors! Couldn't do a Christmas card easily with these, so didn't even try. Went for my little Postcard Pals set. I tend to not like sets that seem childish. My youngest grands are 18, so no kids. But these guys are so cute, I can easily send them to friends, the sentiments are great and useful.
I used the Subtles embossing folder on the pool party, I tried other ones but it just didn't work, it's hard to see this one in pictures, but it's so neat, lines like rain falling. Mostly I used color pencils, we have 2 sets now and we also had a couple colors in other catalogs. I am trying to get them all. I was careful so did this on just the thick Whisper White and used the aqua brush and it worked out fine.
The second set was in an offering last may as an early purchase, but the first set is in the A/C.
I hope you enjoy.

Beautiful Baubles Christmas Card, FMS#355
I don't think this set has attracted much attention yet, it was one I got very early on in the preorder. I think it's adorable. I have used my embossing set for the Big shot on the set of ornaments. If you cut them out, they all cut separate so you can use all or only one or? There is also a stamped bow in the set, but I choose to use a real bow.
I'm entering this in the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.
I found this to be an enjoyable sketch to play with. I hope you'll join in.

Tis the Season, FestiveFriday#0016
So, the challenge is the US Air Force Birthday, or clouds. Not having any Air force graphics, or anything I could come up with to signify that, I choose clouds. It even took me a while to do that. But I think I came up with a good one. I love how it looks like it could actually be snowing, and the mound of snow helps. That die btw, is in the die set with the trees.
Here is the challenge, hurry over it's only on for a couple more days.
Even if you don't have time now, consider joining in soon, it's a great challenge and you get points for playing to be used for goodies.
My colors here are, Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Balmy Blue, Pacific Point and Smoky slate.
I used the new Itty Bitty Greetings for the sentiment, the die to cut it out is in the Stitched Labels die set. It's cute, isn't it? I used 2 stamp and die sets other then for the sentiment die. Winter Woods and Dashing Deer sets. Both have so many uses, and are lots of fun.
Thanks for stopping by.

Special Day greeting card, Just Add Ink #425 Challenge
I'm using an older but still current set with a brand new set today. I love the Wood Words, so pretty. They make a really pretty full back ground or just one time stamped and anything inbetween.
Colors are, Berry Burst, Whisper White and that's it! I used a few of the self stick squines also.
Here's the challenge info, and just click here to be taken to the site.
That die from the Stitched Label die set dresses up just about anything, so it was a fairly quick and simple card.
I hope you enjoy and thanks for stopping by.

Christmas Blessings, FMS#353
Are you ready for Christmas card making yet? The new Holiday catalog goes live today, and it's a fabulous one.
However, I pulled down a carryover set from last year, mostly because it came to mind as soon as I saw the sketch and because I really love it. Such a simple and true meaning of Christmas.
Here is the sketch for this week.
The DSP I used for the background is part of a brand new pack. It's available for free, just place a $250 order, or have a $250 workshop, or run around gathering orders from friends and ask your demo to help you place it.
I'm not sure you can see the Subtle embossing that I did on the black, maybe if you click on it to bring it closer. But it shows very well in person and it's in the new Annual catalog. You'll find some neat embossing folders in the new Holiday catty as well, the favorite of which for demos is the Tin Type folder.
I wanted this to stay simple, to that end I only used Black, white and Silver except for the ribbon. I really like how it turned out.
I used the silver foil for the star and the square around the image and a sliver in the sentiment area.
Thanks for stopping by.

FabFriday#145, Snowflake Christmas Card
This sketch just screamed Christmas to me. I know, I'm strange, thank you! I love the new Merry Merlot color in the SU line up. It's a deeper color then we have had. The DSP I choose to use decided on the Cardstock color, and the copper snowflakes were just meant to be carried through.
Here is the challenge: See all the cards Here.
It was a very easy sketch to follow. I used the copper embossing powder for my snowflakes and the Everyday Label punch to cut them out. I cut one end off the label and added a little snowflake from an old punch I had sitting here. I spritzed it with the Frost Shimmer paint. You can see it some at the top of the card.
Colors I used were just Merry Merlot and Sahara Sand.
I hope I inspired you a bit today.

Abstract Impressions, #JustAddInk424
I love, love, love the 2 new Stampin Up purples. Purple is kinda my color along with blues.
First off, I can't take credit for this design, I rarely CASe a card, but I was so in love with Debra Daam's example that I had to try it.
Find Debra's card here:
Today my card is for the challenge at Just Add Ink.
The die set for this doesn't have the flowers, just the big corner and a gorgeous butterfly, so I had to fussy cut the flowers. The very small flower is a die in the set though.
Pay close attention to the little black lines on the clear plastic the set comes on for placement. Having a stamp positioner helps a lot, but we used to do it with out.
I used the new Curls and Swirls embossing folder, ran it through the Big Shot, sponged on some smoky slate, the cut the large floral corner and when I did that I used the Multi purpose adhisive sheet. That allowed for it to be put down without having to mess with glues.
For the tiny flowers, I took a couple small left over pieces of watercolor paper and spritzed both sides, that keeps it from curling so badly, then used my Aqua painter to pick up color from my ink pad and brush onto my paper. I just put small areas at a time so that I could place my little die over more then one color. I just used the 2 purples, Highland Heather, and Gorgeous Grape, but a bit of Aqua might have been interesting, I didn't think about that.
I used the mini dimentionals for under the center, then put the glimmer dots in the center.
So, if you have questions, just ask in comments and I'll answer there, blogger doesn't allow us to have email address's from comments.
Thanks for stopping by.
