#FestiveFriday0024, A little note

Since Hubby and I don't do the New Years eve thing, we are all low key right about now.  He is recovering from an illness and I just took a break from making cards.

This was really a fun little card, here is the challenge, come on over and play, there are prizes involved.

I think I covered both bases with my little Post Card Pals image.  I just think he is the cutest thing. The sentiment which worked out so well is from Butterfly Gala, in the new Occasions catalog.  That, along with the SAB goes live on Jan 3rd!   It's is hands down the best yet!  The free product in the SAB will blow you away.  Once again they have a $100 catagory, but not too much there, most of it is buy $50 in product and choose something from the SAB.

You can buy the new Tea stamp set and get the framelits free with a $100 purchase, that is pretty cool.  I'm taking them up on that offer, it's the nicest tea set we have ever had.

On with the card.  I made up a piece of Watercolor paper using both Balmy blue and Pacific point then let that dry and stamped my image in black, cut it out with one of the new rectangle stitched framelits, then added a piece of DSP from the Subtles DSP set in Balmy Blue under it.  I turned the stripes so I cut it crooked to have the angle I wanted. I used the next size up in the rectangle set.

The ribbon is one of 5 in this set of free ribbon in the SAB, 5 different colors in the one set. I love when we get more then a single ribbon in a set!
So, if you are not in love with coloring, this idea should help you if there is a set you love but just don't love that you need to color it.   I do usually enjoy coloring but this time I just didn't.

Sneak peek at Occasions 2019

This is a combination of 2 bundles and the brand new lace embossing folder.  After putting it down the card just did not need much.
I used Highland Heather, Grape, Mossy Meadow and So Saffron.

I was riveted to this embossing folder at first sight. It's gorgeous. I did the card a bit backwards, usually the sentiment is the last thing I do, but this time it was the feature.

The die comes from Climbing Roses die set called Rose Trellis Dies.   I added the little rose in the corner, then cut out a couple of leaves from the die set and added those.
Next came the butterflies.  They are from Butterfly Gala, and this bundle comes with a punch that does both of these sizes.  Actually these two were stamped and punched out at the same time, then colored. I used my Aqua painter and ink pads to color, but you can use anything that works best for you.

And that is pretty much it!  I hope I have redeemed myself, it's been quite a while since I posted. It's been pretty crazy around here and I can't sit for long.  In the middle of everything my hubby became very ill and ended up in the hosp for several days.  He is home recouping now.

Merry Christmas!

Under the Mistletoe, Festive Friday #0022

Not enjoying time without my desktop computer.  I just deleted my whole post and not sure how I did it.
Anyway, one more card made for Christmas.  I need to get them in the mail, toot sweet!
I decided to use some of the under used sets.  The little poinsettia is from Timless Tidings, as is the sentiment.  It's mostly a nice sentiment set, with a few little sweet graphics.

Colors are Real red, Shaded spruce, and Crumb cake.  I used the new Corrugated embossing folder to make the crumb cake corrugated.

I used the Stitched Shaped Framelits for the outside red oval and the Layering Ovals for the sentiment layer.  Also I added thge Poka dot tulle ribbon under my ovals.

Here is the Challenge, check out the rest of the projects and join in.

I hope you decide to join in the fun.  Thanks for stopping by.

Christmas time, Paper players #421

Ohhh boy!  I am a desk top computer kinda gal.  I have not one but 2 laptops, but I really don't enjoy using them.  I have everything set up on my desktop just how I like it.  But it's over 8 yrs old, although I had it built for me with everything top end, it's now starting to have problems, so I took it to someone to reformat the hard drive, when they started to boot it to work on it, the fan for the processor had quit working, so now I'm waiting for a new fan before I can have my baby back.

So I took some time away from all things computer and made a card for the Paper Players current challenge.  This set, Snow is glistening, is now unavailable, at least it was suppose to be.  But it was so popular, it would be a shame if it didn't show up again.  You can check the numbers and see if it's still there.

My colors of course are white, black and Gold.  I used the Whisper white craft ink for my snow and snowflakes and gold ink pad for the gold embossing.  Using a color will let you see your embossing and makes putting the powder on much easier.

Here is the challenge, come on over and see the other projects.

Thanks for stopping by.

Poinsettia Joy, The Paper Players#420

I'm a little out of my element with all the boxes required by this sketch, but here it is.  Colors simply are Lovely Lipstick and white with gold foil.  I think the glimmer holly is Mint Macaron.  It's from a pack from last year I think that I had never used.    The new pack this year of 6x6 glimmer paper in the Holiday catalog has a different, bit darker green in it.

The first layer is the Dashing Along DSP, it's a good one as it only as 3  different designs, 6 if you count both sides, and more multiplies then usual.

Then the Gold foil, lovely lipstick run through the Curls and swirls EF and applied over the gold, then the poinsettia cut in gold over the lovely lipstick.   The Joy is cut using the Petite Treat framelits die.

Tree in the Woods. Just Add Ink #435

So, here is your Just add ink challege for this week. Click here to see all the projects for this week.

Several ideas went through my head, there is so much you can do from this inspiration piece.  It's perfect for those Christmas cards.  But I decided on clean and simple.  I started by embossing my white layer with the Tufted embossing folder.
I  then used the stamped tree from Winter Woods.  I stamped it in Stampin Up Craft white and used white embossing powder.  You did know that this one is an embossing ink, right?  However, I also love using it on colors without embossing. It gets lighter as it dries and has a look all of it's own.  I especially love it on Crumb cake.

I cut my tree out using the die, and added it to the ovals, put some retired Night of Navy ribbon on then the sentiment and cut that out with a die from the Stitched Label die set.

Just a simple and clean Night of Navy and Whisper white.

Thinking of You card, #FF0021

Today I'm playing along with Festive friday.  3D or single layer card.

This came just as I needed to make a couple of quick cards for people in our FMCA chapter who were very ill.   I actually got this in the mail and that same day I got a call that the wife had passed, one month to the day of her diagnoses.   I'm really quite tired of loosing friends this way, but that is part of getting old.

I'm going to make this quick as 2 of my 3 fans in my computer are not working.  So, colors are, Whisper White, Flirty Flamingo, Old Olive and Soft Seafoam. I used my blends to do the coloring, so quick and easy.  I hope you will check out the challenge at the above link. Nice people and points to be earned for goodies.

Merry Christmas Tree, Just Add Ink #434

In the Woods set has what is probably the best Christmas style tree ever. And SU has a lot of trees.  Besides stamping like this you can use the die to cut one out with cuts for the branches to be more realistic.  I decorated my woodsy tree with tiny pearls.
I covered part of my Joyous Noel paper with vellum so it didn't fight with the pretty tree, but you can still see the beautiful paper.

Todays card is for Just Add Ink, see the challenge here.

My sentiment came from the Merry Christmas die set.  I used copper foil for the Christmas.
My colors today are, Tranquil Tide, Whisper white, and Merry Merlot.  I loved the pretty deep color in the red for this instead of a bright one.
Thanks for stopping by.

Christmas town, Freshly Made Sketches # 363

I guess I wondered off from the sketch a little bit here.   It's still there, just not quite the same.  I made my little street in town with glimmer paper and foil.  I love the look of the houses being lit. So I used gold foil to make it that way.   It was a bit harder then I thought. I cut out my street, then layered over the back a piece of the foil then cut around the houses.  You don't have to cut around the trees or snowman, but you could leave a little edge if you want, but it's not easy.  Pearls make my snow coming down.

Here is the sketch and the link to the challenge.

I used Balmy Blue, Night of Navy and a smidge of Whisper white.

Simple Joys, Christmas Card, GDP#164

Very simple card today, a little bit of work with the Big Shot though.  The inspiration for this is from a card made by Jan Brown, her's was all white and while it is stunning, I'm kinda all about color. When I do a white card, it always has a pop of color, and with this one, I got to wondering how it would look with this beautiful very soft green, Soft Sea Foam, I'm not a green person, but this is so soft and pretty, that I do love the color.

Here is the challenge.

White card base, cut your green a bit smaller then the card base, cut the leaves from both Pretty Pines thinlits and Detailed Poinsettia dies.  Cut the solid backing die out of Vellum from the Poinsettia, then cut the poinsettia out of white using both the detailed part of the die and the backing that is around the outside edge.  Glue together.  I put my dimentional in the center but left the paper on the one side so it could be positioned and then put it where I wanted it and laid down my greenery. I also used the big Cloud stamp from Snowflake Blizzard, stamped off on my paper then lightly on my card  a couple times. Then added in a few stampings of the dots stamp the same way, all for some added texture.   Take the paper off your poinsettia back and glue down, add a sentiment.    I used the Glitter Enamel Dots from the A/C catalog in yellow for my center.

Merry Christmas!
