Convention swap card
So, really this is my Boo Hoo I am not going to convention swap card. One of the demo's in my group is hosting it, I'm really looking forward to seeing the other cards.
What do you think? I was pretty pleased with it. I started with Island Indigo card base. The yellow layer is DSP from the Gingham Garden pack. I stamped Whisper White cardstock with a stamp from the Morning Meadow stamp set.
I stamped the sentiment at the top right and layered that piece over a slightly larger piece of Island Indigo.
I wrapped the Chevron ribbon in Pear Pizzazz around those pieces and stamped and cut the flower from that set that matches with the Flower Shop Punch.
I finished up using Pear Pizzazz candy dots. Loving those candy dots, more sets are going on my July 1st order, I want them all and will probably have to restock fairly often.
I stamped the flower on my envelope and was done. It was really a pretty quick simple card.

As always, thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend.

Todays 10 minute fast and fabulous card, June 26
I have to say, I think this is my favorite in me 10 min card series for weds. So simple and so cute.
For the first time, I'm using my Essential Clips, they are part of a bundle I earned from SU.
I only used two colors, Whisper White and Strawberry Slush. White card base, then I used the Perfect Dots embossing folder on the Strawberry piece, wrapped some White Bakers twine around.
I used the Label Love bundle for the center piece. I love that set, a set of stamps with several sentiments and the punch. So, I stamped, Punched and attached with the clip. Oh, but I did put a Dimentional dot on the back side just to be sure it stayed.
I hope this helped give you some ideas. As always, thanks so much for stopping by.
I just found out that we have new clearance items on the clearance rack. Some great stuff there for excellent prices. To shop the Clearance rack or to shop the catty,

Mojo Monday 299
It's mojo monday round or square week. I am loving the new Modern Medley DSP (designer series paper) and I love the pop of color when you use a color with black and white.
I started with a new incolor, Coastal Cabana, a layer of Modern Medley stripe, then Whisper White.
I used a sponge and ink pad to color the Organza Ribbon.
The decorative label punch made my banner bottom.

Having fun with shapes
I was in the mood the other day to do something different. I decided to make a shaped card.
I had recently gotten the Ovals framelits. I'm loving the new Smoky Gray so I used that as my base card. I paired it with Melon Mambo. When you cut your framelit, just leave an uncut area for opening the card.
I cut a smaller oval and ran it through the Fancy Fan embossing folder, then cut the big shape from the Apothecary Accents dies cutting off one end and stamp the sentiment from Remembering Your Birthday.
I added 3 rhinestones at the bottom and sponged some color onto a clay rose I had previously made up, and attached it up toward the top.
I took a length of Seam binding and using my ink pad and a sponge, sponged on the Melon Mambo.
Thanks for stopping by.

Pals Paper Arts Challenge 161
Today we have a sketch challenge. I had a really hard time with this one, finally after making a mess of some of my paper and ink, the idea came.
Island Indigo mixed with Daffodil Delight and Melon Mombo. Patterned paper is Gingham Garden (129310).
I am still working on getting all the different ribbons I need/want, and for this I needed a skinny one, so I used a retired ribbon. It's from the SAB last winter, I do love free, and I got 3 colors of this and some buttons for my $50 order. It'll come around again with all new product, so keep watch.
I stamped using my En Francais BG ( 128562)wood (147790) clear, stamp on Daffodil delight then punched out using the Blossom Punch (125603), then used the Flower Shop bundle (132727)wood, (132726) clear, to stamp and punch the white embossed flower on top. Over that I used a clay flower dabbed in Daffodil Delight. I stamped the sentiment in white Craft ink from Best of Birthdays, (132929)clear.
As always, thanks for stopping by.

SU 10min Fast and Fabulous card for June 19
Another wed, another Fast and Fabulous 10 min card. I used 2 colors, very quick and easy today. Base card is Crumb Cake, first I stamped the cute little graphic with Marina Mist, then added the sentiment, both from Morning Meadow Hostess set (129678 ) clear.
Then I pulled out my white Craft pad, and stamped various flowers from the Flower Shop Stamp set.
(130942) clear.
Took out my Bitty Butterfly Punch (129406) and punched out my butterfly using Marina Mist paper.
I inked the edges just a bit, but that of course is optional. Applied a Candy Dot to the center of one of the flowers and I was done.
If you want, you can carry it through to the inside by stamping one of the flowers inside. I'd use Marina Mist for that.
I hope you'll stop by next wed for another 10 min card. Leave me a comment if there is something special you'd like to see.
Hi there, so it's later on wed and I just couldn't help myself. I decided as much as I loved this card, for just a tad more time we could have more. I will leave it up to you which one you decide you'd like to make.
So, I add a Very Vanilla card base, the taking a Marina Mist layer. Your card base should be 5 1/2"x 4 1/4", the next layer if you want just a peek of the VV showing is 5 3/8" x 4 1/8, then your Crumb cake is 5 1/4"x 4". I colored a piece of VV Seam binding using my mister and some water and drops of Ink refill.
A rhinestone on the butterfly and Candy Dots on some of the flowers completed the card.
Thanks again for stopping by.

Mojo Monday 298, Patriotic Birthday card
Good morning everyone, or afternoon, or evening, whatever it is where you are. Here in Northern AZ it's morning. I'm here with my card for the Mojo Monday challenge, it's making my mondays one of my favorite days of the week. Strange huh? Well, I'm retired so it really makes no difference to me what day it is normally. I am happy it's monday tho, I've suffered all weekend with a really bad tooth and today I can finally call the dentist. I truly hate dentists, how about you? Not personally of course, just what they do.
Anyway, here is our sketch for this week.
As it happens my hubbys birthday is in July, and this sketch provided the perfect excuse to get his card done. He is a huge patriotic guy, our kids know anytime they get him something red/white/blue, he will love it, our house attests to that.
So, I did use one retired product on this, I apologize for that but with the new catalog I haven't gotten all the DSP I usually have. So, used the old DSP pad, and I did truly love the stripes anyway and I think it suited this card.
Colors:
Whisper White
Night of Navy
Cherry Cobbler
Supplies:
Simply Stars
Banner Greetings
Seam binding
Card size is 4x6. I normally like to stick to an A2 size card so they fit in the envelops without problems, and also because I send a lot of my cards I post to OWH (Operation Write Home) to be sent to our troops so they can be used to send cards to their loved ones. Of course this one is staying here, and I do have 4x6 envys, so it's all good.
I hope you enjoyed this card and that it inspired you.
Thanks for stopping.

Kingman, AZ, RT 66, Old cars and such
Now how cool is this?! I fell in love with it last night. Hubby and I ate dinner in Old Downtown Kingman, and noticed up the block on Beale street they were having a car show. I mean it's RT 66 here and that is fairly common. It was a beautiful night, had been hot during the day, but with the sun going down it was cooling, so we wondered around a bit.
This really caught my eye. I have no idea what kind of car this is, but both the car and Teardrop trailer have been customized. Like to see what's in that back end?
Isn't that too neat? What do you think? Tailgate parties, BBQ with the family? Not sure what they use it for, but it's pretty cool.
Thanks for stopping by.

Weds 10 min fast and fabulous card for June 12
I love how this turned out and it's so quick and easy. I'm also using this one for one of the make and take it's at my open house this sat. If you live in the Kingman, AZ or Bullhead, AZ area, come on over.
I seem to be making good use of the new incolors, I'm in love with them. Here we have a card base of Crisp Cantaloupe, the while layer is 1/4" smaller on all sides.
I stamped the pretty doily stamp from the new Happy Day stamp set using 3 of the different new incolors.
Crisp Cantaloupe, Pastachio Pudding, and Coastal Cabana.
Then I stamped the sentiment with Baked Brown Sugar and used 3 rhinestones under it. That's pretty much it. You could add a ribbon if you liked.
Here are the images from Happy Day:
Thanks for stopping by. I'm thinking I should do some blog candy one day, what do you think?

PALs June Blog Hop
Thank you for joining us for the June Pals Blog Hop and our kickoff to the new catalog! Are you ready to see wonderful creations featuring new products from the 2013-14 Stampin' Up! catalog? Get ready to update your wishlist!
You should have just left stop number 4 Maggie Mata on the Pals Hop - Maggie Mata at Maggie Made Cards. If so, you are in the right spot. If you get off track, the full blog lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.
Besides the wonderful new incolors for this year, I'm showing off two new products. The first, Giggle Greetings stamp set was on my list the minute I saw it. 4 darling, funny greetings. I love pretty and sweet as much or more then anyone, but once in a while a funny card is just the ticket.
I happen to be the "cat lady", so that is the first one I used. I have a friend who is going to love this.
Next is the Flower Shop bundle. I couldn't wait to get my hands on this. There are several different versions of the flower in the set and the bundle comes with the punch. Oh, almost forgot, I also included one of the new candy dots! So fun to use. Just slide them off the plastic and plop them down where you want them, and you get the great look of a brad with out punching holes.
I also did a quick stamp of the flower on the envelope.
I used water color paper to stamp my image and also for the flower. You can do it with whisper white just fine, I love the added texture and the way watercolor paper reacts to well, watercoloring.
I just used my Blender pen touching the tip to the ink pad. This method works so wonderful with the new foam pads.
I don't as yet have any of the new incolor ribbons, and I really just wanted the simple look of the seam binding, so I took my seam binding and sponged on the color using the ink pad.
Colors:
Baked Brown Sugar
Pistachio Pudding
Strawberry Slush
Crisp Cantaloupe
Supplies:
Giggle Greetings
Flower Shop Bundle
Core' dinations 12x12 cardstock. Comes in a pack with some of each of the incolors.
Framelits Labels Collection dies
Seambinding Very Vanilla, died

Mojo Monday 297, SU Birthday Wishes
Good morning! Once again it's Mojo Monday. We were talking about ink and embossing folders yesterday in my group and I decided that I hadn't played with those for some time. So, today I did. I took the Honeycomb embossing folder and brayered ink on the bottom. I wanted more of a background inking. If you brayer the top you get the empressed image colored, give it a try, it's a lot of fun.
TIP: After you are done, just rinse the folder under the faucet and it'll wash right off.
I decided on softer colors today, but I also wanted the flower to pop.
Colors:
Whisper White
Soft Sky
Wisteria Wonder
Crushed Curry
Supplies:
Simply Sketched Hostess stamp set
Scallop Border Punch
Candy Dots
What are candy dots you ask???????????? Well....... they are the new alternative to a brad, and we are pretty excited over them. It looks like a brand holding down that banner, right? Nope, it's just a candy dot.
They are inexpensive and come in all the color sets, this one is the Subtles. Just slide off the paper and fasten down onto you card. A pair of Tweezers works great. Here is the sketch for today.
And here is a the Simply Sketched hostess set. You can earn this free along with other items you might want by either spending $150 on product, or having a $150 workshop. The hostess sets are an excellent bargain, but you can spend your hostess credits on anything you'd like.
Thanks so much for stopping by, and I'd love it if you would leave me a little note letting me know just what kind of cards you would like to see including how simple or involved they might be.

Pals Paper Arts challenge 160
I have to admit I have a problem with very bright colors, especially green. But I think this turned out great. I used some things from my first order from the new catalog. We get so excited over things like new catalogs and SU conventions, ect. We all act like a bunch of silly little girls, the guys too. LOL
Before I go on here is the colors for the challenge:
I started with the Primrose Petals as my card base, then a white layer. I cut a 1 1/4" piece of the new Designer Series Paper Pads Neutrals, then cut my Primrose Petals at 1 1/2". I stamped the image from the new Hostess set Simply Sketched and used my Blender Pen just touching it to my stamp pad, on the image to fill it in.
The images with the sentiment is from the Chalk Talk bundle, stamp set and die cut set. Before I started my card tho, I put a piece of the new Simply pressed clay in the smallest of the flower molds. After it dried for just a little while I took it out and dabbed on some Primrose Petals.
I hope you have enjoyed, I'd love to hear what you think. Should I have put some bling on? I thought about it, and decided against, yes or no?
Here are the images from the stamp sets I used.
Chalk Talk, you'll notice there is a bundle price for the stamps and die cuts. In addition it uses the large oval punch and a round punch which it doesn't come with.
Simply Sketched. I just love this hostess set. Place an order of $150 or more or have a workshop adding up to $150 or more and you can get it. I think I'm going to use this one a lot.

Stampin Up, 10 min Fast and Fabulous card for Wed, june 5
It's wed again, and it's time for a 10min card. Unfortunately most of these items have been retired, however, I think you can get the drift.
I layered Very Vanilla over the Whisper White card making it just a 1/2" smaller on two sides. I cut a piece of Chocolate Chip, used the 1" square punch to make the bottom and ran it through the Big Shot using the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. If you can only get one, these is the most usable folder to buy.
Stamped the flower then used the Curly Label Punch (119851) amd adhired with a Stampin Dimentional.
Stamp 3 butterflies using the plain, small butterfly in the Papilion Potpourri Stamp set. (132058)wood,
(123759) clear.
Stamp your sentiment on the bottom. Quick and easy.
If you would like a .pdf of the catalog click HERE You can download it to your computer.

Mojo Monday 296, Stampin Up Just for You
And here we are, another Mojo monday. I am so late today, but I had to get one of my kittie babies to the vet where he is going to spend the day. He has something going on with constant infections involving peeing. More then you wanted to know huh? He is my youngest and such a sweety, very social and most of all he has picked my hubby for his human and the rest are all mine per their request.
I've been putting it off because the tests are going to cost a bundle, but we have been spending $200 and $300 month after month just trying to keep him well, so it's time.
On with the card. Mostly new product, I don't have much yet, my first order comes tomorrow. I'm one of the lucky ones who gets their order usually in 2 days, I just can't wait.
So colors:
Very Vanilla
Baked Brown Sugar
Crisp Cataloupe
Coastal Cabana
Last 3 colors are brand new Incolors, they all look so wonderful together.
I ended up using quite a few supplies this time to get the look for the sketch.
Supplies:
Mosaic Madness stamp set. (130249)clear (130246) wood - Comes in a bundle with the die cuts for a special price as well.
Happy Day stamp set (130297)clear (130294) wood
Perfect polka dots embossing folder (117335)
Edgelits Large Scallop (127019)
Circle collection framelits (130911) Yup! We now have a full set of 10 framelits circles
Label Love stamp set, but get the bundle with the punch (132722) clear (132723) wood
My tip for today is if you don't have a piece of patterned paper that works for what you are doing, Make your own. I like to do tone on tone, just use stamps in the same color of the paper, or use colors in other parts of your projects.
If you don't have a catalog, you can download the .pdf version HERE
And if you just have to place an order, go HERE
Thanks for stopping by.
