PPA 320, Bells for Christmas
I just love making Christmas cards! So, another one for PPA 320 this week. Another thing I love is embossing folders. So many ways to use them. I have used my brayer on the folder then embossed, used my brayer after embossing and put the design from the folder on without running it through the Big Shot. But this time, I just sponged on a little Crumb Cake ink for my look, it brings out the design so nicely.
Otherwise, it is a pretty simple but elegant card. A bit of Emerald Envy ribbon, a few ferns in Emerald Envy and gold foil and the Bells in gold foil. I think the red ribbon die adds just the right touch.
Here is the sketch for this week, how did I do?
As always any image below will link you to my store.

Merry Monday 315 Christmas in Silver
And a Merry monday to all of you! I'm pretty much mostly Christmas as soon as the Holiday catalog comes out each year. But you have probably noticed that. It gets me Christmas cards done and I love doing it.
To that end, Merry Monday is the place to be. All Christmas all the time. This week they have challenged us to make cards using Dark and light Pink and Silver and or Gray. That took some thinking, but I think I got it done!
Jar of Cheer to the rescue! I stamped the inside first, on vellum. colored it in on the back side after white embossing the front. I used a retired SU Silver marker called Stampin Dazzle, sure with they had kept those. Mine are about 3 yrs old and still nice and juicy.
Here is the challeng info.
Now after embossing you turn it over and you can't go wrong. It's easy to color, as the embossed lines hide any mistakes, especially in something like this with such a small color area. So, I used the Silver marker for the leaves and my blender pen to full in the rest.
It's a technique that has been around as long as embossing powder, but always looks great and never goes out of style.
I used my retired Christmas Greetings thinlits for the sentiments. It just seemed to call for something like that. I die cut both the Pink Pirouette Merry and one from silver foil and layered them.
I hope you have enjoyed and I've given you some inspiration, that is always my intent.

Stampin Up, PPA 319, They say it's your birthday
Color challenge week at the PPA this week. Here are our colors:
I did use seveal products to get this one like I wanted it, but some are easy substitutions.
The main set is Grateful Bunch stamps and punch. I stamped the leaves around the white piece, then just used my Aqua painter, picking up a bit of ink from the ink pad and lightly added in color without coloring in all the space and smearing the stamped image.
A bit of grunge was added, stamped in the butterfly and added the stamped and punched flowers. The DSP is from Blooms and Bliss and the ribbon from a new 3 pack in the holiday catalog.
The choice of colors this week comes from Peggy Noe, she does such lovely things on her blog, go check her out, she is our featured stamper this week.

GDP054, A Happy Christmas
I have the most awful time taking photos with the gold acetate! I need a better way to light it up I think, what I normally do just doesn't seem to work for this.
So, it looks so much nicer in person!
Here is the sketch from GDP for this week.
Very simple card, 2 gold foil strips on top, the Fabulous Foil Acetate over Sweet Sugar Plum. Then the banner and the bells have a glue dot to attach them under the banner. I also hid the glue on the acetate under the banner. And that is about it.
One of the things I don't like, and there are not many, about Blogger, is that I have no way to contact anyone who leaves a comment, so please understand that. If you leave a question you want answered in the comment section, I will answer but you will have to come back here to see it. Sigh....
As always, click on any link to go to my store. You don't have to buy when you go there, you can check out product, go through the catalog, and see the current specials. Thanks so much for stopping by.

PPA318, Happy Anniversary.
This weeks PPA challenge is a sketch challenge. I need an anniversary card for friends of ours so hunted for some great stuff for it. I just bought the Seasonal Bells bundle that comes with the stamps and a punch for the bells, and that was perfect. The layering love sentiment set had 2 neat stamps to choose from for the main area of the card.
I embossed both the sentiment and bells in gold and used gold cord for my tie. It's a fairly simple card, but it does take a little time for the embossing, but what a difference it makes! I love pairing the gold and white with a dark color, it just makes it all pop.
I did use Night of Navy seam binding which is retired.
For such a simple looking card, I ended up using a lot of products, but I was searching for just the right things for a special anniversary card. I hope this gives you some inspiration, and thanks so much for stopping by.

Stampin UP, Pals Paper Arts color Challenge #317
And here are the challenge colors:
Brought to you by Michelle Quinno this week. Michelle's colors are awesome, but I had a hard time with them for some reason, the ideas were just not flowing. I have a lack of much Crushed Curry DSP, so this is from the Festive Birthday set. I guess I need a couple more of the stacks.
I'm working on a Halloween card for each of my grandsons. They are way too old, but I figured just one more year, right? They are all HS seniors and above. Sure miss my little guys.
Is there anything more usable then the Swirly scribbles dies? I have used them in so many ways! I love how they made my moon, I thought about putting a solid round piece behind, and decided not to.
We got our first Edgelits last Christmas and found out how much fun they were, these are also a lot of fun! I hope you will come and join us this week at PPA. Have a great weekend.
