Stampin Up, Freshly Made sketches challenge #210

I loved this sketch from FMS this week.   I have to tell you, the more you do in any craft the better you get. I mean we all end up with something not so wonderful from time to time, but in general, the more you work at your craft, the better you will get.

I hope you will consider doing some challenges from time to time, they are a great way to grow your talent.

The embossing here is a bit hard to see, but it is gold embossed with gold foil Merry and gold embossed Christmas.  A pretty simple card, but I love it, hope you do too.

Thanks for stopping by, as always, to see any product and/or be able to order, click on any of the graphics below.

Stampin Up, Global Design Project #008

I am so enjoying the GDP challenges. We are able to play with Demonstrators from all over the globe.
I had a hard time this week, took me a while to come up with something, but here it is.  Kind of a grungy little card, with some pops of  color.

I used Crushed Curry, Calypso Coral and Crumb cake.  The lines are made using the Brushstrokes background stamp.

Thanks for coming by to see what I was up to.

Stampin Up, Mojo Monday 421, Tall Christmas

I decided to have some fun with a tall and skinny card today.  One week a month Mojo Monday has a sketch for a tall, skinny card.   One year several years ago, I happened on some Red #10 envelops at an office store after Christmas, at a bargain price. Most are stil sitting here, so here is one more envelop used!

I am loving this Designer Series Paper from the Holiday catalog!  Lots of gorgeous gold and black patterns. And the gold and silver foil doilies are so much fun to use.  Don't you love when stuff goes together so well?  That is the SU way.

I hope you enjoy my take on the sketch this week, and thanks so much for stopping by.

Stampin Up, Playing with Christmas goodies

You can't go wrong with a Christmas card made using the fabulous Woodland Embossing folder.
This was one of my class cards this week. They had a great time doing it.

To get this effect you first use your brayer to roll on the background color on the side of the folder with the Sizzix name, make sure the fold is toward you, then layer on the trees from Wonderland at the bottom where the fold is, carefully lay down your cardstock and run through the Big shot.

It was a little plain for me, so I stamped on some ornaments from Among the Branches. BTW, that is the stamp set bundled with the Woodland embossing folder.

Here are a couple or so more examples, after I got started I couldn't stop playing.

Stampin Up, Pals Paper Arts Challenge #273

SURPRISE! A Christmas card! LOL. Ok, I know I do a lot of them, but hey how else can I play with all the absolutely wonderful SU Holiday goodies?

This DSP is fabulous!  All shiny, gold and black, and so much fun to use. If you don't get any other DSP, do get this one.  I used gold foil peeking out from under the black snowflake  design from Winter Wonderland DSP. I could easily have used black for the sentiment here and it would have looked stunning, but I love my colors, so I added in a touch of Cherry Cobbler.

I hope you enjoy, come play with us at the PPA!

Stampin Up, Pals Paper Arts challenge #272

I have been very remiss lately.  Normally, especially at Christmas, I use Crumb Cake CS, but I haven't used it in quite a while, so I decided that this would be the time. I love white on Crumb cake. You can use the SU white pad, but it is a pad meant for embossing, so it doesn't dry very quickly, and it sinks into the paper and gets lighter in color.   So, not wanting to emboss this time, I used the Staz-On white.  Warning: if you use this pad, be very sure NOT to allow water on it before starting to use the Staz-On stamp cleaner!  Otherwise, you will never get all the white off your stamps.  The Staz-on Black comes off very nicely with the cleaner, but even with that the white doesn't like to come off very well. I took to using an old toothbrush after applying the cleaner and scrub good before washing it all offf.

I am really loving the Thinlit words that are out now. They made such a difference and allow for more creativity.

I hope you enjoy and thanks for stopping by.

Stampin Up, Global Design Project 006

It's not enough to make a great card, you also have to take a great photo, not always the easiest thing to do. This one was one of those hard ones. Gold embossing on black, but it's stunning in person.  It's hard to see, but there is a gold foil layer between the Very Vanilla and black.  I love this stamp set. To get just the dove without the sentiment I covered it with a post it, then put on my Versa Mark ink and took the post it away to stamp.

The sentiment is beautiful, but I simply didn't have room for it with this design and I do love how it turned out. So it can be used inside instead.

The design on this stamp is a really nice one if you like to color in, but as you see, it can be done other ways. You could use gold, silver or white embossing and water color inside or sponge inside ect.

This week at GDP was a sketch challenge, so many beautiful examples by the team, check them out.

Sure hope I have inspired you, thanks for stopping by.
