Stampin Up, PPA177

This week we have a sketch challenge at Pals Paper Arts. I just love this little nativity scene.

I used Smoky Slate for my base card and Winter Frost DSP (132341)
The cute nativity is from the new Best of Christmas Set, (134384) Clear, each month SU comes out with a new Best of set. Mostly made up from the best of retired stamps with at least one new image included.
The Sentiment is from Wishing You from the Holiday Catalog. And a Candy dot attaches it to the card.

The snowflakes are hard to see as I had to lighten up the card so much, but they are all over the top piece.
I colored in the image using my blending pen and ink pads.

Thanks for stopping by, and just wondering, how are you coming along with your Christmas cards this year?

Stampin Up and Mojo Monday 316

I was tempted to do a Christmas card, I'm not making much headway with my own cards this year. I've been busy making quilted Christmas gifts and stuff for my SU classes, but I do enjoy my classes.

But, I've been wanting to use the birthday sentiment, and this was the perfect time. I paired the Delightful Dozen sentiment with Birthday Basics DSP.

Colors:
Very Vanilla
Raspberry Ripple
Crisp Cantaloupe

Supplies:
Delightful Dozen stamp set
Birthday Basics DSP (130145
Incolor 2013-2015 Core' dinations card stock (129958)
Circle Framelits (130911)
Rispberry Ripple Satin Stitched Ribbon (126845)
Finishing Touches Edgelits (127010)

I made the little 1/2" banners by using my 1" square punch, then cutting them in half.
Here is the sketch:
Hope you enjoyed todays card and it have you some ideas of your own.
As always, thanks so much for stopping by.

Stampin Up Christmas Tags

I just started out to come up with a little tag for a Make and take for a bazaar I'm going to do next month.  I've settled on the little one left hand side, middle row for that. What do you think? It has to be quick and simple but give a stamping experience and of course it has to be cute.
Top row both ends uses some of the new Silver foil that is in the holiday catalog, I'm really liking the festive flurries one.   The little tree is done in gold ink with SU's gold paper behind.

That little deer is in this months Best Of stamp set, I have loved that deer since it was in the catalog, a bit bigger then here, but still very cute.   These are really fun to do and will be so cute hanging from gift bags or on boxes.

As Always, thanks for stopping by.

Stampin Up and Mojo Monday 315

I have to give credit to Debbie from the Mojo Monday team this morning for my inspiration for this one. I had already decided on Christmas for my theme, but her cute card with it's simple look was just the ticket.
I had this cute stamp set from the Holiday catalog that I was dying to use and this was perfect.
It's called Wishing You.  It even has a message for the inside of the card.

I used Real Red for this one, usually I default to Cherry Cobbler for Christmas, but that's silly, this color is perfect.
I used Smoky Slate for the first layer and the smallest of the Festive Flurry stamps with Whisper White ink. Remember, that is a Pigment ink and can be used with embossing powder too. It's one of my favorite pads. It does take some time to dry tho if you don't emboss, just be a little careful handling it for a while.

I used the 1"square punch for my little banners, just cut them in half after punching, then make a quick snip up the center of the bottom and cut in to the end of that cut from each corner.
I finished it off with a pretty little rhinestone in the center of the middle package.

Colors:
Real Red
Whisper White
Smoky Gray

Supplies:
Wishing You stamp set, Holiday Catalog
Real Red Ribbon  126875
Festive Flurries stamp set, (be sure to buy the bundle tho as there is a discount) Holiday catalog
Rhinestone

So, here is this weeks sketch, why not give it a try, it's a lot of fun.
And here is the Wishing You stamp set:

And I am wishing you all a wonderful week.  Thanks so much for stopping by and as always, if you would like to check out the catalog (you can download a .pdf copy) or see any current promotions or place an order, go HERE

Stampin Up, Anniversary card for a special couple

I used to work as a school bus driver at a Christian school. We had a special couple I worked with. Wife was the elementry principal and her husband was my boss.
When they retired, they didn't take trips, play with the grands and in general have an easy and nice life, they went to African and worked  at a poor Christian school.  Later they were sent to an even poorer area where their was pretty much nothing and they started a new school.

These are the most special people in my life and their 50th wedding anniversary is coming up.  All their friends were asked to send cards as there will be a special party for them.  So, here is mine.

It's very simple, but hopefully is elegant enough to let them know how much they mean to me.
I used Hearts a Flutter stamp and die cut set. The sentiment is retired, I'm sorry about that, but I just didn't have anything else that fit.
I hope this helps you with your ideas.
BTW, SU has loaded more stuff to the clearance rack!  Check it out and place your order HERE

Stampin Up Mojo Monday 314 and PPA 174

I usually don't use one card for more then one challenge, I love making them all single, however, this is prime time for us crafters, and I've been super busy making the most awesome special cards for my
class to do, so I did make this one card for both Mojo Monday 314 and Pals Paper Arts 174.

The sketch was for Mojo monday and the colors PPA, colors are Pumpkin Pie, Pear Pizzazz and Baked Brown Sugar.
I used Yippee Skippee stamp set for the sentiment, and Gingham Garden (129310) for the patterned paper.
The ribbon is seam binding recolored.   It's just so hard to have exactly the right ribbon in exactly the
right color on hand at all times. You can have the color and just not have a size that works for the project, or the right size and not the color.

I simply cut a piece off and use a piece of my sponge dabbed onto my ink pad to color.
I used the new Chalk marker (holiday catalog) for the stitching around my circle, and both a 2 1/2" circle punch and one size from my Circle framelits (130911) for my circles.
So here is my sketch.
And here are the colors. Click HERE to go to Pals Paper Arts

As always, thanks so much for stopping by.

Stampin Up, Fall folder fun

I did this on awhile ago, and it just never got posted. I love playing with embossing folders, you can ink them up all you want and it doesn't hurt a thing, just washes off.
Depending on which side of the folder you ink, you get different looks.   This folder doesn't seem to have a right or top side, either way you use it, it's gorgeous.
I simply inked up one side side adding in a second color.
It's been a while, but I believe this is Daffodil Delight, Baked Brown Sugar and Calypso Coral.
I used an edge die, one of two in the Finishing Touches Edgelit die set.
I hope you enjoyed.  I'm going to get back to making my Christmas gifts.  Our family no longer exchanges gifts except for the kids and we don't have many left that can be called kids.
But I truly enjoy giving my girls, and that includes my Grand daughter in law, a box or bag with things I've made for them.
Right now I'm working on Mug Mats and I have a cute idea in mind for cups to go with.  And if I can get it all done, I want to make them each a Christmas tote bag with one of my Festive Flurry ornaments hanging from it.
Thanks for stopping by.   If you would like to place an order, please go HERE

One more Christmas card

Here is another one my ladies did in class last time.

This was the alternate card I showed them. Here is the one they actually did.

On both I wet embossed the main graphic sentiment. I used SU gold paper on this one, it doesn't show well in photos, but is gorgeous in person.  I also used the new Stylish Stripes embossing folder.
The base card is Very Vanilla.

On the top one I used Cherry Cobbler and Very vanilla.  You don't have to do the wet emboss, but it really does add something special.

The stamp set is O Holy Night.  Wood 131832,  Clear 131835

I hope you enjoyed and these give you some ideas of your own. Thanks so much for stopping by.
