Paper Players challenge 368, Christmas card
I ended up loving this card, but it fought me every step of the way. Have you ever had a card like that? The deer is from Santa's Sleigh, but I used a wreath from the At Home bundle as I liked it better. My only problem was that this one didn't fit around his neck like the one in his own set.
I resolved that using one of the tiny dimensionals SU has now. I am really liking those. I had to cut the wreath, but glued it together and stuck it down at the same time with that dimensional.
I stamped my raindeer using Soft Suede on Crumb Cake, then used my watercolor pencils to add some darker areas. No need for water, they work just fine without.
My colors are: Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Garden Green, Cherry Cobbler and a bit of Smoky slate for the snowflakes.
So, go here for the challenge, you will want to see what the team has done this week. Gorgeous cards!
And here is the challenge.
I have done the middle across. Christmas, die cut wreath.

Birthday cake, Just Add Ink 383
Shhhh, don't tell anyone, but this isn't all SU stuff. I've had some items for a long time just because I got a bee in my bonnet about having something I didn't have with SU. I must say, I'm not impressed with the dies. They are gorgeous, but they are often not coming out very well if one doesn't use the machine put out by the die cut mfg. There is an impression as well as the cut area here and they are not showing well and didn't go deep enough. So, I just am staying with my SU. My Big Shot is one of the best machines on the market, lasts for years and years with no problems.
But I wanted to do something different, so here it is. The background is an Incolor stack, really pretty designs in 5 colors. Very usable.
So, we are playing along with Just Add Ink this week. Be sure to stop by the challenge to see the gorgeous cards from the team!
My colors today are Whisper White, Fresh Fig (new incolor) and a touch of Powder Pink.

Snowflake Christmas, FMS310
Playing along with Freshly Made Sketches again this week. I just have to say, I had a great day stamping today. I haven't sat and made that many cards in a very long time.
We have such gorgeous DSP this year, and so much metallic DSP, I love metallic! This gold and white check is gorgeous, isn't it?
So, before I go any further, here is the challenge for this week. Click HERE to check out the challenge.
I choose an older stamp set, it's in the Annual catalog having been held over for a couple years. I embossed in white and added rhinestones for some bling. I used Bermuda Bay and Fresh Fig along with the Year of Cheer DSP with it's beautiful gold plaid. And the new Fresh Fig ribbon, I've been dying to use that ribbon.
I hope you enjoy!

Merry and Bright Christmas, Merry monday 262
I'm still working on photos with metallics. If I take this one standing, the gold and silver ribbon doesn't show, but it's just not as good as I'd like. So much nicer in person.
The challenge this week at Merry Monday is to show presents on your card. I got a set called Your Presents out of my retired stash. Yeah, you could just cut the boxes our of paper, but these had such cute bows in the set.
I then used Metallic washi tape for my ribbon, that was what caused all the problems for photo taking.
My colors today are: Whisper White, Fresh Fig, Berry Burst, and Lemon Lime Twist.
The sentiment comes from the Hearts Come Home set and the ornaments from Carols of Christmas bundle. and I used the Marble background. The strings for the ornaments are stamped on, but don't cut out with the dies, so I was looking around for something with a really thin tip, and pulled out a Gold paint marker. I thought, this isn't going to work, I've had this for years, and years, but by golly it did and beautifully.
Hop on over here and see the rest of the cards. Maybe even give it a try yourself.

All hearts come home, FMS 309 Christmas card
I used my brand new SU blends, alcohol markers for the image, they work great! It's hard to see, but the center line is 3 of the metallic washi tapes.
I absolutely LOVE the Quilted Christmas bundle! I know it's going to get use all year long, even the 6x6 DSP stack has plenty of pieces that are not just for Christmas.
Just a simple, easy card. I used: Real Red, Garden green, Old Olive, Bermuda Bay and Soft sky for that little bit of light sky.
Also used. Quilted Christmas DSP 144617
Layering Circles 141705, Stitched Shape Thinlits 145372 Year of Cheer washi tape 144644
And the sentiment is from Hearts Come Home 145416
Here is the challenge, stop by and see all the wonderful cards.

Quilted Christmas, Christmas card GDP108
I hadn't checked into the GDP challenge for this week yet, it starts on monday. It's a Case the designer this week and when I found it was caseing Brian King, one of my favorite guys, I had to give it a try.
Here is Brian's card.
I used Elegant Eggplant and Pear Pizzazz, so couldn't use the DSP for this set which is mostly red and green. So, I used the embossing folder for some texture. What a joy this set is to work with! So much to work with! I hope you like! What do you think of the colors? Should I have stuck with Real Red and Garden Green? I do love purple for Christmas, heck I just love purple.

Stampin Up, Just Add Ink 380 #2
So, this was my second try at the JAI 380 challenge. If you want to see both cards in the same post, it's here.
I had set this one aside because I wasn't liking what I was doing. The ideas just were not coming. But after finishing the other card, this popped in my head and I picked up what I had stopped working on and did it up.
Here is the JAI 380 challenge:
My colors are Whisper white, basic gray, along with the Merry music DSP and gold ribbon, and gold foil for behind the sentiment and for the star.
Night in Bethlehem Christmas cards, Just Add Ink #380
If you are here from Just add ink's, challenge page, you probably know, I posted 2 cards this week.
First here is the sketch. Go here to see the rest of the cards.
At this time of year, I start working on Christmas cards, I know it seems early, but I have fun doing the challenges to make them unlike the old days when I came up with a design and all my cards were the same. So, this first card is actually the second one. I started the one below first and couldn't come up with something I liked so I set it aside and started over.
By the time I got done with that one, ideas were swirling around in my head, so I picked up the one I had set aside and this is what came of that.
Now, I'm not sure which one I like better, how about you? Do you have a favorite? I haven't been as happy as I could be with some of the cards I've been doing lately, guess I have been in a funk with them. At any rate, thank you for stopping by to look, it's why I love posting my cards and projects.

Merry Monday 259, Silver and gold Christmas card
A new challenge for Merry Monday this week. Here is the fun challenge.
Add a Christmas Tree to your card. Now, I have a couple sets new this season with trees I could have used, but I ended up going back to Lovely as a Tree. That set has been in the catalog for as long as anyone can remember! It's a great set and never goes out of style.
I embossed in white using my Whisper White craft ink pad. Then after I heated it, I added another layer of white and sprinkled on some Dazzling Diamonds glitter. I know you can't see the glitter in the photo, but it's very pretty.
I used paper from 2 different DSP sets, Merry Little Christmas and Bundle of Love. I have been dying to use something from Bundle of Love, it's the gold piece on the background. It worked so well with the black piece from Merry Little Christmas.
I punched out a glimmer paper star using an old tiny punch for the tree top.

Merry Christmas using Fall Painted Harvest
I think I've said it before, I love this set! It's fun to play with and you can do so much with it. If you only get one fall set, be sure to look this one over. I made this one into a Christmas card using the 2 step stamping sunflower. I just left out the center piece and added a bow. It's amazing the color combos one can come up with.
I also used the beautiful snowflake gold and silver foil doilies. I think I'm going to have to be sure to pick up a 2nd pack of these, I know I'll want some left over.
The embossing folder is the quilted one, I'm not real sure why I picked it, but I like it here.
