Mojo Monday 343

I started this card on Monday, honest.   Since it looks like the problem building my strength back up is going to take a lot longer then I had hoped, hubby is going to change my room around so I have a desk where all my SU stuff is so I can now sit. To do that, all the furniture in the room is going to be moved around, but I will also end up with my cutting table now being used only as my cutting table. That will be nice.    So, instead of making my card, I've been cleaning stuff off cabinets and out of the room.
Lots and lots is going to be sold, not my stamp stuff mostly, but tons of other craft items I no longer need or do. I think I'll be sitting at the week end flea market  for a couple weeks to get that done. Sure hope I get rid of it all, and that money will go toward a purchase from the NEW SU catalog!

So, here is the sketch now that you have seen my take on it.
I used Whisper White and Rose red.  The patterned paper is from the Regals DSP stack, and I used both the Flower shop stamps and Petite Petals stamps for that little background I made.  Sentiment is from Perfect Pennants, and I tossed in the pretty little silver ribbon for a bit of bling. I'm happy to say that the Silver ribbon is staying! I use it a lot.

Stampin Up, Hello Doily, Goodbye

Yup, it's that time of year again, we loose a bunch of fun goodies and soon will gain some new favorites.  This Doily stamp is hard to say goodbye to.  I don't use it often, but I didn't want to give it up either. Colors are Whisper White and Crisp Cantaloupe.

The Tulip is from Backyard Basics, that is such an awesome set and it's only been around about a year.
I stamped using my white craft pad on vellum, then embossed also with white. I could have just stamped onto the paper and embossed, but it wouldn't have shown as well. It was a little more work this was since I had to cut the doily out before putting on the card, but I love how it turned out.

The paper is from Birthday Basics and the sentiment from Banner Greetings, also gone. The ribbon thankfully is not retiring. Good thing I use a lot of it, and it recolors beautifully.

I'm told the retiring sets are going fast, this year SU is selling them only until they are out of stock, so if you see anything or have something you want, hurry on over and order.

Just click on any of the photo links below to be taken to my store where you can order, or just find out more about a product, browse the retired list, check on sales.

PPA 201 and Saying Good Bye

It's that time of year again.  Time to say Good Bye to retired product and time to get excited about what new product might be in the new catalog.  New catalog goes live June 1 while May 31 is the last day to order from the 2013_2014 catalog.  The retired list is out! If you haven't seen it, take a look. Scroll down and you'll find the info. You can go to my shop by clicking on any of the photo links at the bottom of my post.

On the plus side, the two Framelit collections I used on this card will be staying, yaaaaaaaaaa.

But the DSP, Modern Medley, will be departing. We have had some really great DSP this year, but this one has to be my favorite, it's so classic.  The other color, Raspberry Ripple is also retiring, shame, such a pretty color.  My other fav from this color set is Midnight Muse. I really had hoped to see that one come into the line, but apparently it's not to be.

The stamp set is from the Occasions catalog, and as far as we know, it will also retire. I'm going to miss it, it has so many very neat and usable sentiments and other pieces in it.  A really nice collection. On the plus side, you can still order it for awhile longer.
All the rhinestones on this card are staying, but the large rhinestones  set will be going away.

Thanks for stopping by.  And how about telling me which items you are going to miss most.

Mojo Monday 342, Happy Birthday

Hello stampers!  My mojo monday card today is for my youngest grandson's 15th birthday! I am NOT green person at all, it's one of my least fav colors, however it is his favorite! He wears green all the time and everything of his that can be green is.   I've got green stuff for him for his birthday, it's called money. LOL

Todays sketch was very simple.
Lots of ways to use it, I tried to keep it simple since it was going for a boy card.

I used Very Vanilla, Gumball green and that's about it.. Did I say he is really into green?

Before I give you the list of products, I want to remind you that all this week shipping from SU is free! That's a huge savings. And the retired list is out! You can see what you just have to have with your free shipping.

As of May 1st you will be able to order the new Betsy Higgins PL products as well.  So much cool stuff going on right now.

And now on with the product list.

Pals Paper Arts 200, Thinking of You

Ok, so, late again. It's taking me longer to get cards done. But getting stronger all the time. Then Typepad went down and our PPA is hosted on Typepad, but it appears to be up and running again, so, here is mine.
It was an option to do a little twist and make your card Mono, but I'm afraid this is as mono as I get except for very rare exceptions. I'm a color kinda gal.  And we are coming to a close on this years big catalog and I really wanted to play with this pretty piece of Venetian Romance paper.  The one with the text and gorgeous design, also used a different piece under my sentiment piece and cut the butterfly out of that same piece, just a streak of the darker color.

I'm sorry to say, the tangerine tango ribbon is retired, but it's all I had in that color, so do hope I'm forgiven.

Check back on monday, we should have to retired list then and you can go grab all those items that will not be in the next catalog that you haven't gotten yet.   I know I'm going to be very sad that some things I love will no longer be current, but I also know we are going to get some great new stuff.

I have a couple of really important things to tell you.
First, starting the 21st through the 25 SU is having free shipping!!!  That should make it a lot easier to get all those items that are retiring before we don't have them anymore.

Second, we have had a huge announcement!  This year, SU is partnering  with Becky Higgins and Project Life Scrapbooking. SU will have exclusive content for Project Life!

How exciting is all this?!

Mojo Monday 341, Your my best mate

Good morning!  Not for too much longer, but it still is here.

Before we go over the card, I have to tell you, I had the very best time over the weekend! It was touch and go for a long time whether I'd be able to make the trip to Tucson, but in the end I was able to go and meet up with a group of PAL's that I've been interacting with online for 2 yrs.   It was so awesome to meet them in person!

I have to tell you, we have the most wonderful group of Stampin Up demonstrators you can imagine and we have so much fun and get so much inspiration  from each other in our online group.  If you have ever thought you would like to be a part of Stampin Up, just come on in!   If you would like to talk to me about it and get some answers to questions, just leave me a comment with contact info and I'll write or call you.   I can't imagine having more fun doing anything then playing with paper and ink and sharing it all with our group.

Ok, sorry, I'm still on such a high from our meet up I just can't stop thinking about it and I would love to have more people have that fun too.

The DSP today came from the Occasions catalog, if you like it, it's ending soon, you might want to grab it. It's called High Tide. Hubby and I love the ocean and the nautical theme so much, I think this one will be his birthday card.  The sentiment would be awesome for a child too. The sentiment is from the set Hello Sailor, that goes beautifully with the DSP.   I was just in the mood to make a fun card, so here it is.

Colors are Calypso Coral, Pacific Point, Whisper White and Smoky Slate.

If you would like to see more, just click on the images below.  Have a great week and thanks for stopping by.

Stampin Up PPA 199

I'm still running behind for most everything.  Still having issues standing too long and doing too much, but it's getting better all the time.

The featured stamp set on this is Backyard Basics.  I have to tell you, sometimes you just don't see the greatness in a stamp set. I avoided this set, just didn't seem to care for it much.  But, one day I needed a set that had all the flowers and stuff that had dies for the pieces and since this one was still on Bundle pricing, I got it.

Wow! I'm so happy I did. It has become a favorite.  This card could be used for so many sentiments. It would be perfect for Easter, and I'm doing this up for my girls for Easter, but Thank you, Birthday ect work great.

I stamped the Hardwood using Smoky Slate, stamped off on paper then onto my CS so that it's a very light impression.

I simply stamped the single flower 3 times. I inked the flower head then the stem and stamped. It's pretty easy with the clear stamps to see where to lay it on the pad.
Then I used Morning Meadow hostess set for the green vines

I used one of the punches in the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch pack for the So Saffron flowers.
And the Modern Label punch for the sentiment, punched it a second time out of So Saffron and cut in the middle, then glued it to each end.

I hope you enjoyed this one, thanks so much for stopping by.  If you are interested in checking out any of the stamps and punches used on the card, simply click on the photos below.

Mojo Monday 340, Thinking of you

Slow poke here.  I'm getting better all the time, but still have limits on how much I can do in a day.
So, yesterday the priority was Curves, and while in town, I had a couple other stops. By the time I got home I was bushed and took a nap in my chair. LOL

So, here is my Mojo Monday card, just a day late. I only used 3 colors, I liked Basic Gray for the card base is it gave more of a contrast then the Smoky Slate would have, and I also used Crisp Cantaloupe.

I used the Dictionary background stamp.  After inking it up with Smoky Slate, I stamped on a piece of paper then on my background piece.

The large flower stamp is Gifts of Kindness, and the smaller pieces are from Polka Dot Pieces. Got together very nicely, don't they? I punched the flower pieces out using the 1 1/4" scallop circle punch,  stamped my sentiment, cut the banner end using scissors and inked the edges of that piece a bit.

Candy dots finished it all off nicely.   The sketch used ribbon at the top, but it just didn't need or want that I don't think.

It was a pretty quick card, I think it could be used for many different themes, and the dictionary stamp works really well for masculine cards.
