Merry Mini's

Tiny can be so much fun, I couldn't wait to try out the Merry Mini's  bundle.
It comes with the stamps and punches to punch them out with. You can punch patterened paper as well for a different look.
In the stamp pack you get 3 of each trees, ornaments and stars, so a total of 9 stamps, plus the 3 punches, it's a great buy.
On mine I used Whisper white, and Rose Red and the Lacy Brocade embossing folder in the Holiday catalog. Sentiment is Curly Cute, Ribbon in Rose Red Seam binding and the scallop edge punch along the bottom of the white.
I hope you enjoy and this gives you ideas for your own cards. Have a great weekend.

A Little Bird told me

I just love this little guy, such an easy, quick card, good for any occasion. The sentiment here comes in the set with the bird, leaves and the sentiment. There is a bird builder punch that punches it all out that you can get. The stamp set also comes with 3 small flowers called Boho blossoms. It's called Language of Love. There is a punch as well for them. Hmmm, maybe I should have used those flowers just above the ribbon huh?
I used Crumb Cake and Soft Suede paper and the lacy brocade folder in the holiday mini catalog.
The ribbon is Baha breeze seam binding. I'm really liking the seam binding, such a nice soft look.
YOu can punch the bird out as I have here, or use whisper white and color him in on the back side if you don't want the added markings. All by Stampin UP.
There you go, quick and easy and still very cute.

Daffodil Delight, so delightful

I tried something a bit different with my new Lacy Brocade embossing folder. You will find it in the Holiday Mini catalog, a wonderful addition to your embossing folders.
I stamped the Elements of Style image onto Whisper White cardstock, then ran it throught the Big Shot using the Lacy Brocade folder, but I put it in with the stamped image what would normally be the underside of the folder, creating a deboss.  It made such a pretty quilt look.
I cut the bottom using the Scallop edge punch, then layered it over Raspberry Ripple CS, which is layered over the white card. Stamped the sentiment on Daffodil Delight CS and used the Decorative label punch, also cut one out of Raspberry Ripple and off set it under the Daffodil Delight. I added 3 rhinestones on the side.
The ribbon is Whisper White seam binding. I put 2 holes in the front side and brought it up from behind. Not my best idea, it turned out to be a bit difficult gluing it the embossed image down.

So, my Tip for today is to play with embossing folders, there are lots of ways to use them. By stamping first then running it through with the deboss side as the front, I created a whole new look.
Thanks for stopping by.

Midnight Muse and Certainly Celery

Wow, paired them together and they look like they were made for each other.
I started with Certainly Celery cardstock, used the SU dots embossing folder on both Certainly Celery and Midnight Muse, cut each to fit. I've been waiting for just the right time to use the Crochet trim, and I think it worked great here. I stamped the graphic from the Four Seasons stamp kit onto Very Vanilla and used the 2 1/2" circle punch, then the 3" circle punch on the midnight muse.
The sentiment was done cutting a rectangle out of both Certainly Celery and Very Vanilla then cut the ends with the scallop round punch. The sentiment is from Friendly Phrases.
I hope you give this color combo a try.
See you next time.

PPA 141 Thank You card

I have a wonderful lady who invited me to do a class for her and some friends. They were only vacationing here and we had a wonderful time.  I thought it would be really nice to just send her a little thank you. Now, I haven't ever done a workshop that I didn't have fun at, but this was a special
good time.
So, I had been playing with embossing folders the other day and had these two made up, so decided to use them. I hope you enjoy.
To get the color on the background of the embossed piece, I inked up my brayer using my Marina Mist ink pad, then rolled it across the background side of the folder before embossing. I am loving this idea and it looks great.

I used Marina Mist CS and Ink, and Daffodil Delight along with Whisper White. I also used the Dots and Petals embossing folders and the Hostess set Wacky Wishes for the sentiment.  I rounded the corners on the bottoms of my strips and used a piece of Midnight Muse stitched ribbon, and the Decorative Label punch, I just love that punch!

Card for a friend

I did this card up for a friend, she has it in her hot little hands right now.
I used Perfect Plum and the Elements of Style Stamp set, the Scallop edge border in both the Perfect Plum and white, SU 5/8" Organza Ribbon and one of the shapes in the Apothecary Accents Framelits set.  I did just a little inking around the shape for the sentiment, but it would look fine without.
Have a wonderful day.

Stampin Pretty Pals Blog Hop

Glad you could join us for some holiday crafting with the Stampin Pretty Pals!
I'm stop #1 on the Pals Hop and I'm glad you hopped in! I'll help you "hop along" from blog to blog where you'll find great ideas for Stampin' Up projects featuring the new Holiday Catalog. Should you hop off course, simply click on any of the links in the Pals Hop Line-up below and you'll be back on track.
I have a lovely Holiday card for you!
I used the Watercolor Winter stamp set, it's a 2 stamp process set. Each stamp has a 2nd one to use with it. Here I used the pointsettia, first stamping the background or water color part and the 2nd stamp puts in the details. You don't have to use them both, I don't alway, I didn't with the pinecone.
I used Cherry Cobbler ink and cardstock, and also gumball green and Crumb cake.
The ribbon is Whisper White seam binding.
I made the bottom paper using Cherry Cobbler cardstock and the Lacy Brocade embossing folder from the Holiday Catalog, it's my new favorite, just gorgeous. To get the color I inked up my brayer, then rolled over the larger part of the embossing folder, the part that becomes the background, put in my white and embossed as usual.

Now, hop along for more inspiring ideas from Shannon.Stop #2 on the Pals Holiday Catalog Blog Hop. Thanks for "hopping" by!

    Mojo Monday 254

These Mojo Monday sketches are addicting. I am really enjoying it.
So, without further ado, here is mine for this week.
For this one I used Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip,  Island Indigo. Paper is from the Festival of Prints Designer series paper stack in the Holiday catalog. They come 4 1/2 x 6 1/2, I like that for making cards and very little waste.
Stamp sets I used the Postage Due, Elements of Style for the main graphic, And Field Flowers for the With Love.

Christmas is coming, Christmas is coming.

And I'm going to be ready. I've already gotten some of my Christmas stamps and punches. More on my list, but I have enough to get started. Today I started thinking. I wanted to make a tag, but I wanted it to be different. One of my favorite things to do is use something for a purpose it was not intended.
So, I started playing, and I ended up using a framelit from the Apothecary accents set. I cut my piece and just put the one end under the cutting blade and ran it through my Big Shot. I love the tag top I got from that! I started on my tag using Crumb Cake ink and the Joy stamp in Priority Mail a fun Hostess stamp set.
Then I got to playing with my ink and sponges, sponged on Bashful Blue and Primrose Petals ink.
I used some of the elements from Watercolor Winter from the Holiday Catty, a bit of holly and just bits of the pointsettia, and with the Bashful blue I stamped on a few snowflakes from Four Seasons stamp set. After I finished with all the inking, I used my embossing pad and inked up the whole tag with it, then used clear embossing power and heated. This is giving it some gloss and texture.
I put a piece of vellum across the tag and added on some Merry Minis, stamped then punched and placed on using Stampin Dimensionals. At the bottom I put some silver brads from the neutrals package.
Yes, this took a while, not something I'd do for all my packages, but if you are in the mood to play, they are fun to do and would be extra nice for those special gifts. When I worked at a Christian school we did a Secret Sister exchange and one of the most fun things about that was the beautiful wrappings we all did. I think we looked forward to that more then the gifts inside.
Hope you weekend is grand, get some stamping in.

    Trying something new to me

I have been seeing cards with squares with 2 of the corners rounded off and I really like them. So, I decided to try it out for myself and this is what I came up with.
I used the petals (SU) embossing folder, cut it and used my brayer to apply Rose Red ink to half and Summer Starfruit to the other half. I then cut them into 1 1/2" squares and rounded off 2 corners on each. The red overlay is also Rose Red, the stripes are from the DSP paper pad in Subtles, and I used the pearls and Winter White seam binding.   I punched out 2 butterflys from the Elegant butterfly punch, one in Rose Red and one in the DSP paper and added the smallest pearls from the pack.
It's pretty simple, hope you like it and maybe it gives you some ideas.
I'm finding a lot of uses for both the petals embossing folder and the butterfly punch, so they were excellent choices for me.

    Mojo Monday 253

I love this weeks sketch and I had never done a skewed card before, so I just couldn't wait to try.
Isn't that a fun sketch? So now here is my take on it.
I needed a birthday card and decided to try a color I hadn't used yet, it's from the new Incolors for 2012-2014, Primrose Petals. Otherwise I used Whisper white, and the Designer series paper patterns stack in Neutrals and inked the edges in basic gray.
I used a 2 1/2" circle punch and one of the Floral Frames Framelits.  The stamp is from the Hostess set Priority Mail which has lots of assorted cute stamps all in various shapes. It's a great all around set. For the tag I just cut a piece of white, after cutting it the size I wanted measured the center on the back side and put a pencil dot then just cut from each corner to the dot and inked it to stand out a bit. I used and Easy Events birthday stamp, it comes with it's own graphic, but I used my sponge to pick up ink from the pad, the new pads are wonderful for this stuff, they are so juicy, and just inked the sentiment. I cute the eat cake with my postage punch and we are done.
I hope you enjoy it and it helps to give you ideas as well.
    Have a wonderful week!

    Stampin Up Tablet cover project

I have a little sweet project for you today. These make cute gifts and are so usable everyone likes them.
This holds a Jr Legal pad. I used Cherry Cobbler, Marina Mist and Daffodil Delight for colors. The Designer series paper patterns stack in Subtles. Friendly Phrases, and French Script stamp sets, the Little Leaves Sizzlits die, Boho Blossoms punch, and the Decorative Lable punch.  Ribbon is Crumb Cake seam binding and I also used Crumb cake card stock and the scallop border punch for that little bit sticking out from under the pattern paper.  For the larger flowers centers I used pearls and some Dazzling Details in the center of the smaller flowers.
To start use a full sheet of cardstock, mark the middle and score 1/8" on each side of that mark. (I am finding that the off brand Jr legal pads are thinner so with the name brand you may need to score 1/4" on each side.
Stamp with the French Script, cut a piece of Crumb cake card stock the width you want, allow for 1/4" to be cut off using the border punch. Measure and cut your pattern paper so that it leaves just an 1/8" strip on one side and leaves the scallop sticking out however much you like.
Cut your leaves and flowers, the pattern paper had a different design on both sides so I used one both sides to get the effect, glue all that down then put your ribbon on your side edge piece letting it go over the top and down both ends a small amount to hold, glue that whole piece onto the side of the page.  Stamp your sentiment and punch out, also punch out using the Crumb cake.
Cut the bottom punched one in half and glue to the Marina Mist letting a little crumb cake show at both sides, then use Stampin Dimensionals to adhire so it pops up a bit.
Put glue on the top edge of the tablet and place inside. Done.
I hope you enjoy this, it really is easy and quick and can be done so many ways.
    Have a wonderful weekend.

    PPA 140 Another fun Challenge

I thought I'd give a try at the PPA challenge this time. We were to use 3 specific colors. Challenges are not only fun, they can give you ways, colors ect to use that you might not have thought of.
All product is Stampin Up. I used Marina Mist, Real Red, and Summer Starfruit. Flowers are from Field Flowers and words from Curly Cute.  Printed paper is from the Stubtles Paper pad, I just love the designs in the paper pads. The blue is Marina mist, it's my new favorite color, I'm a blue person anyway and this blue is gorgeous.
